I would do the steps he mentions, drink water, lie down. Id also take an aspirin and just try relax be calm. Had not had any in over 10 years.

I have found what helps my ocular migraines is to close my eyes and be still and quiet until I can no longer see the flashing lights (I know that sounds weird). It can be very inconvenient when I get one of these migraines when I’m out shopping. I have to get to my car so I can close my eyes. Typically, I will tip the seat back and just lay there until it goes away. I have to do that because if I’m out and about, I certainly can’t drive. I have a method that can often make the visual aura go away. The second I think I’m getting an aura I go somewhere without direct light, I lay down with my head back, I close my lips and develop pressure with my lungs as if I’m trying to blow up a ballon. I do this for about 10 seconds each time, about 6 times at first then more if that doesn’t do the trick, but it usually does. You have to let the pressure go up into your head but not so extreme that you give yourself a cherry eye of course. You have to catch the aura very early or this doesn’t work. For me it has worked more than 50% of the time, but the times it didn’t work, I know I had let it progress too far before I tried my method. A friend told me that his mother had used this technique for many years. Thanks Greg. For me the migraines are more common if I get quickly exposed to bright sunlight, such as going from a dark house into sunlight. Hope this helps you. Please let me know.

I’ve never had any kind of migraine until two days ago. I thought I was going blind randomly on a Monday night! It was so scary. I was grateful to learn it was an ocular migraine, and I don’t think I’ll feel scared if another one comes now that I know what it is. When mine came on I was stretching on the floor-child’s pose to be exact. It began with a small rectangle of light with very organized diagonal lines moving like an escalator downward. Eventually, it turned into a very colorful circle and I couldn’t see anything when I looked at it straight on. Super weird, but I’m glad to know what it is!

I am typically left with this kind of annoying doll headachy feeling on my temples afterwards and maybe some nausea. I’ve even found that sometimes putting a small Himalayan sea salt rock under the tongue because mine seems to be brought on by an imbalance of electrolytes. I drink a lot of water anyway. But what I want to say to you, dear, is that once you realize that the attack is transitory, in other words, you know what it is, and it does not last very long, then you can just knowing this find a quiet place close your eyes maybe listen to some Binaural Beats for migraine headaches. Maybe Leah sock over your eyes if you don’t have a dark place to rest in. I hope this helps you with your panicky feelings and thoughts. You need to detox heavy metals & chemicals from your brain by doing an extended fast with distilled water. Think about it, you didn't have them when you were younger so something happened. Heavy metals & chemicals can migrate to the brain causing many neurological health problems. Everyone who does extended fasts with pure distilled water notice an improvement of mental clarity by 5-6. There is a fasting page on Face Book called February Fast Everyone on it says they experience mental clarity & body healing. An occasional pinch of Kosher salt helps for leg cramps. You will go through detox symptoms because your body is getting rid of heavy metals & chemicals so stick with it & you will be glad you did. Some people mix in a little organic lemon with the distilled water. I have been distilling my water for over 8-9 years. Eliminate processed sugar, artificial sweeteners, processed dairy, fluoride, perfumes/colognes, chemical deodorants, chemical lotions & all products made by pharmaceutical companies including v@kseens. Pharmaceuticals are not natural & they are actually designed to weaken your immune system. There's a reason why pediatric cancer wards are full of children. It's because todays children are being poisoned by multiple v@kseens that sterilize, feminize & weaken the immune system. Big Pharma & the Healthcare system are controlled by the Rockefellers & Rothschilds who are helbent on depopulating the earth because they believe we are using up the earth's valuable resources. My friend worked for the government agency DARPA on the HAARP Project. All weather systems & geo disasters have been planned & engineered since 1992. They have been controlling the weather to some degree since Tesla discovered how to channel the electromagnetic field that surrounds us in 1891. They engineered the 1906 San Francisco earthquake with Directed Energy & they engineered the 1927 floods of the Mighty Mississippi. Climate Change is a sham. Co2 does not get trapped in the atmosphere it stays at plant level to help them grow! The Black Horseman of the Apocalypse is engineered Famine, The Red Horseman is a planned WW3 Depopulation & the Pale Horseman is Death by Diseases bio engineered & in jected. They are in jecting people with nanobot sleeper cells they can activate with 5G frequencies. They could say Rabies has merged with Marburg to form a brand new super virulent phantom lierus. With a flip of a 5G switch some of the v@kseenated will get sick.
To top it off they have been using gene splicing technologies to create Monsters, Dinosaurs & ET's. A Human/Reptile Hybrid with wings would look like a Demonic Fallen Angel. In Revelation Satan is called a Dragon 13 times so no doubt they've created Dragons & one Big Red Dragon. Before they "Unleash the Beasts" they will disarm all civilians worldwide. Believe it or not they stage fake mass sh ootings for g un control propaganda with crisis actors who can't cry on cue. If you question the official narrative of things you are labeled a quack conspiracy theorist. Obey, Conform, Do Not Question Authority is the American Way. All governments local, state & federal are controlled by Illuminati occult inbred psychopaths. The Bible says Satan rules this world until Armageddon. Occult symbolism is all around you. The 5 pointed occult pentacle star is everywhere including numerous national flags. The Satanic all Seeing Eye is on the Satanic pyramid on the dollar bill. The US dollar is a pyramid scheme that's designed to collapse, US National Debt is currently $31.131 trillion. I'm in my late 70s. I get these ocular migraines once or twice every year, so it's not serious. My symptoms were diagnosed by an eye consultant. He was treating me for a cornea problem and I mentioned to him my symptoms. I get the zig-zag shimmery pattern. But I have no headache, no blurred vision, it's in both eyes. It dissipates after 15-40 minutes. My best treatment is not to stay in the dark, but get into as bright a room as possible,, especially outside if its a bright sunny day. At this stage, I'm fascinated when it starts because its different every time. I guess I'm lucky I'm not concerned about it at all, maybe that helps a lot. Good luck and best wishes if you have this problem

I'm 62, have had Ocular Migraines most of my life (started in my teens). I spent several years in the care of a neurologist, am diagnosed with cluster migraines (many migraines over a short period). I've tried several different medications with limited relief. Ultimately for me hydration is my most important preventative measure and cure. When I suspect one is coming on I push water, better to pee then to suffer. I cannot overstate the importance of staying hydrated and of pushing water when I even suspect one is coming on. For me this is the single most important way to just shut it down. I will often still get an aura which can last up to 30 minutes BUT I don't have the pain. My grandmother used to talk about her "lightening". I've come to realize she was also having ocular migraines.

This was very helpful, thank you. This happened to me for the first time last week twice in one day and a light dull headache followed. Now, I don’t get migraines or frequent headaches but I do remember working out vigorously that day and I haven’t been drinking enough water like I should. I suddenly started to see colors in the form of spikes around and in front of my face (peripheral). The colorful aurora was oval in shape but the wide part upwards like an egg on a counter and while it was going on my vision was blurry and the feeling in my eyes was that of pink-eye. It lasted for about 10 min then disappeared. Thanks again for this video.

I’ve had these types of migraines for so long… the pain is so horrible I feel like ripping my eyes. I know that lack of sleep is the biggest trigger for these .
One thing that helped me is a simple TH-cam video. The guy explaining that I’ll have to answer a few questions and at the end of the “interview” my migraine would be gone.
It goes : what is the shape of your migraine? Do you see it ? What color is your migraine ? Where do you physically feel it ? Is it only one eye or both ?.
I had to repeat the video one more time and my migraine was gone.
I’m typing it because I truly wish your migraines to be gone.
This aura migraine is the worst thing ever and can disrupt your day.
I know how annoying and painful it it.
Sadly my little brother also has this but I’m here with him to reassure him. First time he had it he had to be rushed to the hospital.

Every single time I get one I have a panic attack I’m not sure why.
Some things I’ve noticed about it over the years. (I’ve kept track of a lot because it scares me and specialists have told me my vision is great)
    - it’s always my left eye
    - an EXTREME migraine follows
-ONLY thing that works is stop what I’m doing, lay down in dark environment and take deep breathes etc.
    - too much screen time hurts my eyes and I think has triggered it
-bright flashes of light randomly in specific the sun reflecting off cars!!!
    - I have woken up after falling sleep from having an ocular migraine, I had another. 2 in one day.
    - the also make me sick
    -staring at a tab with
    My neck a certain way
    So much more.
Thank you for your video! I’m gonna try the copious amounts of water :)

I get two types of migraines. I get ocular migraines, losing parts of my vision for around 30 minutes and then my day is ruined by an explosive headache. I’ve only experienced this type a handful of times throughout my life.
I also get sharp pains in my left eye and this gradually develops into a really uncomfortable pain that lasts around 4/5 hours. This type is much more common and they come in waves. For weeks I’m great, other weeks it’s an eyeball migraine every other day. It’s always in my left eye, same place, every time. I really hate them. They effect my mood and I’m over sensitive with things like, sound, smells and taste.

For anyone looking for a tip to try-
I heard on tiktok recently that if you soak your feet in water as hot as you can handle (still safe levels ofc) then it can dilate some blood cells in your feet and bring the blood downwards/prevent migraine-causing brain activity from spiking as fast?
I genuinely didn't believe it would work and I'm usually laying in a dark room vomiting for at least a day during my migraines, but i was able to go to a concert and have a normal night after trying it once!
(for context, I get visual aura migraines and then quite severe pain that causes numbness and vomiting, so if you're similar this might help?)

For me, my migraines start as a pinhole of blurriness that slowly turns into a full semi circle in my peripheral vision. Usually takes about 30 minutes from pinhole to full on peripheral vision loss, then it fades away quickly. Shortly after the blurry vision subsides the migraine hits me like a brick wall. Sometimes so bad it makes me nauseous. Not much helps, and no idea what the trigger is because sometimes I get them in my sleep. 25 years old and I've been getting them for about 10 years.

    Just sharing my triggers.
    1. Caffeine
    2. Excessive Cheese, Beers and Wine and other fermented products. (The days following Christmas are migraine days whenever I forgot to control myself)
    3. Changing of season or inconsistent weather. (Transitioning to Dry / Wet season or vice versa. I live in the tropics btw) usually around late September where the weather is so inconsistent in the tropics or before Summertime in the northern hemisphere, around March.
    4. Strong smell of petrichor. (Happened to me twice)
All I did was to change my caffeine addiction and control my consumption of fermented products as recommended by my Doc. I was able to overcome my ocular migraines, somehow. I only get it rarely compared to before which happens almost every month, sometimes two weeks in a row. @@drifella Ocular migraine is harmless. It’s just painful. The symptoms you experience are excruciating at times that’s why other people relate it to stroke or high blood pressure (Especially symptoms like confusion, hallucination, numbness, and difficulty to construct sentences).
When you are having a stroke, you won’t be able to do the stroke test. In an ocular migraine, you will still be able to do those.

The first time it happened was scary and I got my first migraine ever. Still annoying sometimes, especially now that I have more migraines and mostly during stressful times, even had only the "glittering holographic circles" without any migraine for the first time last year. I had an ocular migraine today on my way into work and thank god traffic was bad. I got to work and had to make a phone call and while I was on the phone was asked my address and the reason for the call and I couldn't remember anything. It is so scary going through these things. I know stress and not drinking enough water is part of my issue. I have already had my brain scanned just to make sure nothing else was going on and my brain is absolutely fine. Thank you for the tip of drinking water at the onset of these horrible migraines. I stupidly drank coffee thinking I had some kind of caffeine withdrawal. I am also going to work on meditation as well!

Water poisoning is actually quite difficult to do to yourself, though it does happen. The major problem is that it flushes salts/electrolytes from the system. In a healthy adult, your kidneys should be able to process around 1 litre of water per hour.

Your explanation was okay. I suffer from both types (hereditary). My
personal physician also has the condition. I inadvertently discovered a
"cure." At the first sign of this event, I go into a dark room and lie
down. I then place a 0.4mg Nitroglycerin tablet under my tongue
(sublingual) ... these are commonly used for specific heart ailments
(that I don't have). Within 2-minutes, your symptoms resolve, disappear,
and the accompanying migraine almost never takes place. My physician
tried this himself ... and it worked for him too. Now, he prescribes
    this simple solution. TRY IT!
BTW, the nitro expands tiny blood vessels ... and, in so doing, stops the ocular migraine.

@@ChiroCarl I also avoid medication as much as possible. However, my retina specialist said that such episodes do actually slightly damage the retina (depending on the severity and duration). So, with that understanding, I opt to "cut-it-short," and WOW does it ever work for me (and my physician in Santa Barbara). A 2-minute interruption (at most), or a potential half-day of headache. I chose the former.

For some people eating or drinking when you are getting a migraine is a bad thing to do as your stomach shuts down. Also if you find your migrains are worse if you wake up with them then always sit out the visual disturbance in a dark room before sleeping. My ocular migraines, I don’t get pain, or pain from a migraine. But visual disturbance is that bad I can’t see anything. And so I stay put. It lasts around 60 minutes. To me it’s dangerous. I was getting them every day.
In 2020. This was for about two months. And it was definitely stress that caused them. I haven’t had one since that time in 2020. And because I changed my circumstances. 👍👍👍👍👍👍♥♥♥

Because if it distorts your vision badly you need to be safe, and not try and walk around. I haven’t had one for about 15 months. And I think my ocular migraines were brought on because of stress. Just came across your video.. Great explanation of migraine & recognising what triggers them , I particularly liked how you described the slept pattern whilst in an episode & the neck curve ..I am certainly going to apply your suggestions. As a teenager and after my pregnancy I had been bothered with awfully migraine , this subsided and they became sporadic & I could manage them with going to bed and just waiting on them passing . I have hemeplegic migraine & which was recently so severe I was hospitalised for 4 days , I had temp paralysis in my left side , left hand was the worst & facial droop from my mouth downwards , given my symptoms , a stroke was suspected, I tried several times to explain this was unlikely & that I was having migraine . I understand the concern and the need for the neurologist to ensure I hadn't had a TMI or stroke . I take care of myself and self pity is not something I am guilty of . I am now being ' cycled " through Triptan medication, which doesn't not alleviate the symptoms & in fact can make me feel worse because they are vasodilaters . The GP isn't listening to my concerns & I'm at an impass & unsure how i can change this . I'm pretty sure I am more stressed about this than I might appear , which we know is the worst thing for migraine . Frustrated, ... for sure .. 😢

Thanks for the tips. I too believe that the problem comes from the bad discs in my neck pressing on the nerves. Posture is so important. I will try the water. I have recently tried to close my eyes if at home. it seems to help. The worst is while driving. I sometimes take an 80mg chewable aspirin or two ( keep a bottle in the car), it seems to shorten the episode & lessen the time, which is usually 10-15 minutes for me. Unfortunately, a headache usually follows the migraine & can continue for a day or so. Everyone be careful while driving, pull over if you can!
