How many of y’all remember playing Babe Ruth or a little league but found themselves glued to the TV watching the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992? Seeing Strug win her gold medal with her hurt ankle in this video reminded me of watching a tiny Kerri Strug, Kim’s Zmescal & Shannon Miller battle with Tatiana Gutsu in gymnastics that olympics. I had never watched gymnastics before but I found myself glued to the TV watching because I couldn’t reconcile the fact that these gymnast’s were the best in the world but they were the same age as me. These absolutely tenacious athletes were the best in the world in their sport yet they had homework like I did when they weren’t on their summer vacation. It was inspiring. I watched that 2016 Euro Final and i remembered myself crying tears of joy. Ronaldo is my biggest idol and that day was one of the best day of my life, seeing him winning for his country. The only thing left is a world cup winning-trophy and he deserves to win it. 100% 🏆
