Read many comments and I’m of the same vein. Took me back to another time. A smile is not only a universal language, but also an emotion that seems to sooth the soul. Thank you to all who commented. Thank you to whomever set the course for many to relive such moments in our lives. Moments which made us smile. Have a great day!
This dude is an everyday Hero♡ Anyone (As a kid) remember the tv show Candid Camera with Allen Funt? Although the shows candid filming was humorous, I love the way they bring out the real reactions in people.
The funniest episodes I ever saw were the talking mailbox and the stunt they pulled blocking the entrance from Louisiana into Texas, telling all they stopped that Texas was closed due to having too many people in Texas already. I laughed my azz off!
The Buster Keaton episode when he's at a lunch counter, sneezes and his hairpiece falls into his soup. Made my sides hurt when he put it back on his head.
In the late 70's Candid Camera did a stunt where they would have a kid in a room with some adults. Then, the adults would leave and Spider-Man and Captain America would visit the kid and disappear before the adults came back. They reran this somewhere in the late 80's and I realized the guy in the Captain America suit was Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Hopefully ShoutTV will post this episode.
:D Indeed. When people went "out" for entertainment and experienced what was available in their communities and supported local businesses. Back when we didn't have a "smart phone" yapping at us all the time.
Finally I get to hear the 1974 Candid Camera theme song. I'm sure I'm way off but I think it sounds like Mel Torme singing. They changed to a female vocalist by the 1975-76 season.
"The NEW Candid Camera Show!" The date is not cut off at the end and it is not given in Roman numerals...so maybe watch til the end if you're actually curious....? It's from 1974.
The people were so calm, gentle, polite, smiling, kindly, too different from nowdays, also here in Italy the old candid camera i can see the same kind of people, but the today candid camera most of the people are very negative! So sad!
I loved this show growing up. The stuff they came up with to prank people are ahead of it's time. But it was odd that some people were always fooled. One of my favorite episodes was the phone prank. Basically, people would answer the phone and talk to the guy on the other line. Then he would sneeze and all this water would come through the phone. Now as a kid I knew this couldn't happen, but I couldn't believe that people were falling for this. It got to the point that it literally changed my thought process, that it could happen. There was one woman who literally told the guy on the other side of the line that he needed to take care of himself. People were annoyed that the water coming through the phone was saliva from sneezing. But the episode I wanted to see was the kids blowing the cake off the table.
Wow! All that took place in NYC??? I lived in Fla until 79' so there was a lot I would learn later about these shows settings. But that whole bowling thing was hilarious. And the hotdog skit, typical NY'ites with that NY accent.
Throwing Balls and Brooming Sidewalk were the funniest - I am still laughing. 😂😂 And Hotdogs proved how honest people were back then. ❤ Love Candid Camera...
not only a fun show but a great social experiment, and so cool to see people from yesteryear, the clothes, the attitudes... i'm guessing this is the early to mid 1970's when the co-host mentions "high labor leading to self-service". this was about the time corporations began their coup on the media, economy and politicians. about the time the right-wing conservatives declared war on working people, unions, and labor wages, the corporate media (run by millionaires) were more than happy to push the false narrative that it was high labor that caused stagnant economic growth... then reagan was elected and working people have been getting screwed ever since. don't believe me? the minimum wage in 2022 is $7.25, if it had kept pace with inflation since the 1960's it would be close to $20/hr today. most working people in america are working for poverty wages in 2022.
This is not season two! It seems like the earlier shows when they were still in black-and-white, where the best ones. The colored ones were not funny at all.
I always thought Peter Funt was really great with children BTW, I never noticed the awful intro music.. what? they couldn’t get someone to write some lyrics?
Look at the 70s!!! Innocence is BLISS!!!❤
It was actually a very turbulent time. We have a tendency to romanticize the past.
I wish they'd bring the show back again. The ones with Allen Funt were the best, but other versions are also very good.
You can see how much more wholesome the world was back then.
Yes..exactly!!
you got that right!! people are really so nasty now nobody can take a joke ... and the thugs who are just out of control with violence
This was a breath of fresh air. So clean and sweet.
Please post more 1970's stuff. I enjoyed watching the reruns as a kid back in the 1980's and loved them.

The funniest episodes I ever saw were the talking mailbox and the stunt they pulled blocking the entrance from Louisiana into Texas, telling all they stopped that Texas was closed due to having too many people in Texas already. I laughed my azz off!
Loved the Texas-is-closed stunt. Hilarious
The Buster Keaton episode when he's at a lunch counter, sneezes and his hairpiece falls into his soup. Made my sides hurt when he put it back on his head.
I remember that one !
So many in Florida residents would love if it could truly happen there 😂
omg.. The Bowling is hilarious 😂 ❤
Us boys don't like it when we get bested by a girl, lol.
The guy paying for the "hot dog thief" was awesome! - R.Ferencik
Yea I think his name is Fred from NY. He is priceless. Never seen anyone like him!
Alan was wonderful and so is his son Peter. Omg look at those mutton chop sideburns.😅
Lol, girl so innocent and funny Brill, from uk

What a honest guy fair play bravo from uk
Thank you 🙏 thank you
Laughing today is hard. You made my day ❤
This was " back when " people enjoyed laughing .
16:22 He seems pretty upset
That’s because this is “back when” things were actually funny…….
I enjoy laughing now…
Just laugh "tracks" on shows nowadays. Pre-taped laughter to prompt audiences during boring shows.

Oh good new ones from shout factory
Thank you for this!
Gentleman paying for the stolen hot dog rules!
I loved that show growing up.
Good clean fun, so different to today's stuff. The bowling setup was absolutely hilarious!!! How smart and clever were these good clean pranks.
Basketball player prank: she is the real doubting Timothy.
Haven't laughed in a long time thank you
Thanks for thd videos
This is terrible! Now I am spending HOURS watching these videos! And I think of the unwatchable crap they have on TV now days!
Exactly : )
35 cents back then, today $9.00 🇦🇺
Alan has to be about the best host one could have!
Que fantástico 🇧🇷🇧🇷
The brilliant Shiela Bernette, the old broom lady, sadly died last year.
Please bring it back
That girl bowling looks like my Grandma, not a kid!
Life was better then.
Yes, many agree on that!
So funny!
This is not the second season. This is the second run years later. I wish they would give the year.

World felt homier back when hot dogs cost 35 cents.
Could you release the UK version ?
They really went for the green screen decor

Who created and produced candid camera before Allan Funt?
17:18 for a rewind

Kid looks like young John Lennon

Love Candid Camera...
Ah, the good old days when people had a sense of humor
Brilliant fun.People are too cynical these days, and have nasty reactions.
season 2 was after 1000 episodes?
I'm surprised she didn't call cops when he took trousers off
Nothing fazes her in New York
The bowling segmant is from 1962
So people would eat something that a stranger handed them??!
Season 2??
They left out the best parts - the reveals that on Candid Camera
i thought that was Jerry Lucas in the thumbnail.
Is it just me, or do the vocals in the theme song sound as though Allen Funt was singing them himself?
the girl with Jerry Lucas is fking hilarious . I could watch her all day
Tastes like it was eaten already eww😂😂🤣🤣
When people could enjoy a friendly harmless joke, now life is wokely karenized..sad: 😭
What network geek would ever cancel Candid Camera??
the mosre innocent the joke. the bigger the laughs.
HELL SMELLS by APOLOGETIX a great ACDC PARODY

Lol
I see they had to use an overseas clip to find something that was actually funny
She must be a republican or something because she doesn’t believe she’s on candid camera
watched this as a kid
I never noticed the awful intro music.. what? they couldn’t get someone to write some lyrics?
