There is so much research and examples that show growing up with mentally ill parents (like his mom) does not properly teach children social behaviors and often leads to them feeling like outcasts.
Things that are socially unacceptable have been acceptable throughout childhood and it makes a child unable to understand social cues.

The worst thing is that helping someone with severe depression can be next to impossible, even when you're 100% aware.
I'm doing everything in my power right now and they just keep shutting themselves off more and more. It's starting to mess with my own mental health while realistically I've accomplished nothing.

@@tsurutom In my eyes its very important at this point to watch out for yourself. My Dad took his life a few years after my mom died. We both had a rough time but at some point, i felt like i was getting over it, but no matter what i did my dad felt worse and worse. There was nothing i could do to help him and i started to feel very bad and usless cuz of that. Was hard to understand for me that its not my or his fault. Depressions can just hit so hard u dont belive it until you find out urself. You can try as much as u can, at the end you just have to be realistic, the outcome wont be in your hands. We can try our best but the rest is up to god or w/e you like to belive in.

There's substantial overlap for mental illness. You can't diagnose people without seeing them in different situations. The broad use of psychological terms causes "semantic shift" where the actual meaning of the words change. It's up to the DSM (diagnostic book) to maintain these diagnoses, eg 'depression' is a feeling and 'major depressive disorder' is a condition.

@@TreesPlease42 We’re discussing a public figure who consistently displays their behavior across multiple contexts, so there's plenty of data to make informed observations. While we can’t make a clinical diagnosis without a formal evaluation, we can recognize when behavioral patterns align closely with DSM definitions. Asmon shows clear signs of antisocial personality disorder (ASPD).
Yes, terms like "antisocial" and "depression" can be misused or watered down, but that's not what's happening here. I'm attributing the term ASPD to Asmon based on observable, consistent traits that fit the medical criteria.

As someone who has extreme ADHD, and a spouse with ADHD and autism, his background screams autism. A lot of his actions and such, and the way he lives, etc, screams autism. He's wicked smart and high functioning at some things but also other things he just isn't good at, things that neurotypical people would do just automatically, like cleaning the house, etc etc. I really get what's going on with him. And the loss of his mom has only made things worse. Like, my spouse just went through testing and found out they had autism.
People who say he is "lazy" have no goddamned clue what it is like to live with executive functioning disorders like ADHD and autism. And even 2 people with either of those disorders can have different experiences because you can have a deficit in one executive function while not having a problem with another one. That is what makes everything complicated. I have a deficit in most executive functions. But there are things that make ADHD different from autism.
Also, once I heard how old his mom was when she had him, there are studies showing that kids born when the parents are that old, autism is more prevalent. My spouse was born to 40 year old parents, too.
He's not a sociopath, people who say that also have no clue what it is to live with those disorders, either.

Honestly it seems more to me like borderline personality disorder that was exacerbated by a lack of stability by different factors from his childhood. For example, he would often have explosive changes in mood and have limerence in romantic relationships or would do things like hit other kids and enjoy doing it as a child. He also feels that everything social-related is performative/learned and has been violent and suicidal many times, which aren’t things characteristic of the typical presentation of adhd/autism as a child.
BPD fits his description perfectly and would have most likely been diagnosed much earlier if it were not due to his family’s inability to have access to healthcare services, like therapy for him or for the treatment of his mother’s familial hypertension, which induced vascular disease symptoms in his mother (nocturnal hypoxemia and retinal hemorrhaging) and most likely led to her death, which I’m betting was a stroke.
Asmondgold also has stated that he has very severe hypertension and that his systolic blood pressure was 190, which probably was the factor that finally forced him to take his health more seriously. I’m betting that after he went to the doctor for his hypertension, he probably was given access to resources, like a psychiatrist, that has helped him recognize all of the adverse childhood experiences that precipitate the things he deals with in the present day, like his sense of foreshortened future and again, the limerence in his romantic relationships.

Nowhere near his level but your family.... It wasn't until I met my first gf and started spending time at their house that I realised how different it was. They weren't the Waltons but the whole family's interactions were just different to what I was used to. Can you imagine being abut 7, your family in Germany as your dad was a Staff Sergeant in the British Army and your young mind aware that your dad was a bit of a lad and often did things that drove your mum into such a state that it was possible for me at 7 to say something that may have been where's dad? I forget. For my mum to literally burst with rage and sling a table knife at me which stuck in the table an inch from the edge quivering madly and her face to go shock at what she did. It's never left me. And friends? Army brat who remembers moving around a lot and a fight in school on day one every time at the new kid with his odd accent. Make a few friends, leave as you're moving to a new base area. But when you look further down the chain? One parent was raised by a vicious harpy of a woman in Dublin the other was abandoned by her mom at birth on Xmas eve. (religious Ireland)
If your parents are a bit fucked up chances are that's your mould.

    First thing first,
This dude cant unwire his own WHY IM LIKE THIS< it dont work like that,
its the same with personal attributes , like kind, good, intelligent, Alpha, beta, handsome, you cant give yourself those , they don't matter, it only matters if OTHERS See that , and or give you those attributes, onto your as a person, but i guess if you live alone and in a box , that don't matter either way.
cause if he knew he would have changed course, lets be real in the end we are flock animals not cave dwellers.
    its as simple as that.
all this is, is 1 little part of his own problems from his view.
    but w/e make him happy.

20:00 empathizing with Asmon's experience, at some point outcasts have to embrace and lean into it. My mom was in a similar situation, I felt bad about the situation, but the insecurity is really rough to go through. I think this will become more common as the internet encourages niche communities. Recommend Glink's video about Japan and Hikikomori "12 Days in Japan changed how I see the world" @22:00

Alot of this is me... Im autistic or what they called aspie. Not saying he is aspie or something else but it sounds like he might be on a spectrum. Important to know, all is on the spectrum. That means almost every time i tell about my problems in life with this "they also have this problems". Well, yes and no, they can turn of what i can not.

Its realy simple. People that want to unalive them self when they get older. We know the best time in our life is as kid and teen. Sonif life is allready hard imagine as an adult. I was not like that i had top 99% good life as a kid. But when i hit like 22. I qas doing nothing with my life no work no school. I wqs thinking i had a great life. Went of multiblw trip out side my country, Party hard, got girl. Was rank top 10% in the mmo i was playing, had alot of friend, great time with my famillly on chrismas and stuff. Most of that was gon. What was the point of living. Now i have a good job in construction, kids in doing my thing. Yes life was better as a teen. But its still pretty good

i don't mean to tell someone how to live their life, but this is just sad. i'm only 9 minutes in and his reactions to the examples of his behavior are jarring. it's like he's proud of the bad things he's done to other people. i understand that was his point of making the video to a degree, but damn. he needed therapy like 20 years ago. i'm not sure if it would even help at this point.

I think this guy is a child and felt suicidal because he made childish decision and his parent never parented him. He said it himself - he would fail school and drink soda and live how he wanted. So instead of exploring areas of interest to grow, he focused on his friends.
What happened after high school? His friends go to college, army, and work and he still wants to do child like shit like games and hanging out. But now thats over. You add that his mom needed his help for him to support her after high school, he was doomed to think this way.
