I sincerely doubt that anybody important signed off on these. All of Warcraft 3 Reforged reeks of an intern project with more people and a "higher budget." It probably had just enough QA to give it the go ahead to put the price tag on it and little else.

Maiev: passes through several razed villages, feels nothing
Also Mauiev, passing through another random razed village: Those poor folk were slain just like the others.
Vashj was a high borne night elf who was transformed into a naga, so obviously it would make sense to give her human ears.
She really does look more like a stock gorgon/medusa with this redesign than she does in the other games.
I remember in Legion where so many players were like: "Illidan did nothing wrong, all he did was use demonic power to fight the Legion and Lich King, he never did anything blatantly evil other than some oppression in Outland, but that was due to desperation cause everyone was out to kill him."
Well, here Illidan is burning innocent elf villages and mutilating the bodies for no reason other than they were there. This is why people hate him, one moment he's this tragic anti hero, the next he just starts killing people cause they are "in his way".
I don't think Illidan himself razed those villages. I think out of their sheer hatered for the Night Elves, the naga and satyrs he consorted with and enlisted were the ones to raze the villages. Illidan's the lesser of a lot of evils, and he's no genocidal chaotic evil lunatic...
HOWEVER! Illidan is one to always look at the big picture, and cares little for the ends if they justify the means. He fears no sacrifice if it pushes his goals further, so keeping in with his character... the destruction of those villages was a necessary evil if the Satyrs and Naga would serve him. He won't get in their way because he can't force them all to sit back and keep to the sidelines; plus by razing said villages they pave a path for him while fulfilling their personal bloodlusts. Small price to pay for what he believes is the greater good and big picture.
I agree. It’s a fault of retconning. The way it was originally written, he clearly did some horrible things for his own sake. The retcon tries to claim it was all done for a greater good, but it just doesn’t make sense. His working with the legion and all.

It's cool that the night elves only known the orcs a little before Mt. Hyjal yet Maiev's already expert on reading an orc warlock's runes.
What's even cooler is the ginormous information content of those runes.
The orcs were in the world a while before Thrall's entrance to the world. So the Night Elves must've read a few books about their culture.

You forgot Maev and her sisters encountered skeletal orcs while exploring the other route in the tomb of Sargeras.
This is where she's given a quest by a hermit Orc warlock.

Tomb of Sargeras is practically Suramar's Temple of Elune, where Tyrande was acolyting. Suramar City in Legion is practically just the city center and highborne quarters AFAIK.

The Models are amazing. But that is about it.
To be honest, not really. Sure, they are..."decent" and certainly more detailed than the original models, but thats about it. They are "updated", but not "improved". It feels like they were made without any artistic overview, much of the older model's charm and style and in some cases, even animation lost in the process. I mean, its not consistent in style.
I know that back then, they had to do some exagerration and stylistic simplicization due to technical limitations. But that, instead of being a disadvantage, became a cherished part of the overall experience. It always felt like the models and animations had something more than reasonable quality. Liek it was a work with the artists pouring their "souls" into it.
Not even trying to accomplish that much makes the new graphic look... kinda soulless.

yeah but thats the thing about fate. Maiev's crazy bitch moments were the key to Illidan realizing that his purpose was to save the world from the Legion rather than serve it. If she never hunted him down, he would still rule Outland and serving Kil'Jaeden w/e he wanted his service. Azeroth would have stood no chance against the Legion with Illidan against us.

I KNOW naga are changed night elves. As if to say I was deaf in the entirety of my WC3 playthrough and in this video.
That bridge was bad, but damn they added the runner part with voice acting on the level of custom maps. I've heard they tried to add more stuffs to bridge the gap with World of Warcraft, but they went back on us with the "oh people who are purists are not happy with our redone cutscenes so we conveniently did as little work as possible", yet added this diabolical addition. Fine work.

If only Maiv told the truth then maybe the spell would be finish. Millions of night elves' lives could have been saved if the Lich king's stronghold was destroyed. Maybe Teldrasill wouldn't be turn into ashes and maybe Kael'thas and his people could... nah, Garithos would find another way to rid the elves from their so called "alliance"
It would probably have destroyed Azeroth, which is what Sargeras wanted so likely that was the intention of Kil'jaeden.
I doubt that it would've changed that much but man MAN i was on the floor laughing... I couldn't control myself when i read the bit about Blood Elves and Garithos😂😂

And screw the anime-loving betas that helped destroy a universe I once loved. Warcraft now is a lot like Disney Star Wars... The Warcraft I grew up on was George Lucas. Blizzard's glory days.

Tho even then i didn't like that much the idea that every major villain character is just raid material but other than that it was still good lore. Now look at how fuckin N'zoth went out. WE THE PLAYERS LAZERBEAM THE SHIT OUT OF HIM(in one single patch) XD. And don't get me started on the lich king getting destroyed by strong female character sylvanas, the peaceloving #nomorewarchief democracy in the horde, and the nonstop preaching about "hope". Thank god i don't play anymore because even as a hardcore horde player i would swap to alliance immediately. At least they stayed the same more or less...

@@Chris-ve1st That's not true, as Legion and MoP had some pretty good lore. The problem is that Blizzard's rushing things due to Activision's release schedule. And because of that, BFA and Shadowlands aren't as good as they should've been. Similar thing with WoD, though most of the developers just gave up on it for Legion mid-way through development, unfortunately.
I think these remake will improve I hope the popularity of heroes of the Storm I hope it will back soon and other unknown heroes like kaelthas brother and sister and other op character like the dragon aspects I hope they will be in Warcraft reforge
