    That is amazing. I love that you actually did the screen and mirror like the real cabinet.

    Fantastic build, Im getting just a tiny bit obsessed with these 1/4 scale cabinets, they are just right in scale to play and transport you back. Great work 😁

    Amazing work, I like how you used the mirror like the original cabinet. Another one that would be cool is Asteroids Deluxe!

    Amazing craftsmanship. 👍🏻👏🏻 You should let Numskull hire you. Your projects are coming out before theirs are available.

    Brilliant video, and I love the machine you built, awesome. Any chance of you building a Gorf cabinet, Gorf had 5 games in 1, unique at the time.

    Awesome build. Still working on my DK. I’m even more inspired now. ;)

      @@jamiemcshan thanks Jamie. It’s actually coming along quite well. Have everything fabbed except the button bezels. Gonna start mocking it up this week. Been a fun project Involving many different technologies from 3D printing to cnc routing to micro sheet metal fab, etc.
      Thanks for the tip on the Helder power board. I think that will work better than the Spark Fun board. It wasn’t really working for me.
      Funny that you did the change machine. I almost bought that from new wave, but I like the 1/4 scale stuff. Gonna have to fab one I guess. I already am using a very similar powered hub for my 4 quarter arcades ;)

      Looking at this build again. You did a really clean job on everything from the cabinets to the controls. Lots of questions. Looks like you sourced some better mdf for the cabinets rather than the black board material from HD? The button control idea is very simple and clean. Assuming you are using the spring of the switch and no additional springs in the button housings? The slotted and angle mounts to set that backlash just right is nice. I’m imagining the buttons are 2 piece, the bezel housing like a hollow mushroom and the button plunger top hat shaped that drops in from the inside? Very clean. Great job on all the artwork both on the interior for the background for the mirror and outside. I am also wondering what kind of a 3D printer you are using? The finish on the coin door before you painted and textured it was very smooth. Is that from the build plate or like a vapor post process? I use a Formlabs and MakerBot replicator and neither levee that kind of a finish.

      @@redcat40 Thanks a lot for the kind words. Yes, for the MDF, I used a 4.8mm sheets that I found from a seller on ebay. Unfortunately, he seems to not be listing any more currently so I'll have to find a new source again... :( Yes, there are sub micro limit switches that I purchase off Amazon and I 3D print the button sleeve and center on my resin printer. I don't believe you could really print them using a filament printer and get the detail. I have a Creality3D LD-002R UV Resin LCD 3D Printer. The button just sets on top of the switch which has enough sprint to lift the button back up after being pressed.

      @@jamiemcshan Thanks Jamie for the info. That printer is crazy for how cheap it sells for. Going to have to pick one of those up for home. Mocked up the cabinet parts tonight for the DK and I’m pretty happy with it. I think I’m ready to start painting and work on some controls :). Here is my progress so far. th-cam.com/video/BnVgR2BYf6k/w-d-xo.html

    What are the measurements of the real arcade space invaders deluxe cabinet ..??? Trying to build a full size but no measurements online for the complete cabinet

    • @jamiemcshan
      @jamiemcshan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I ended up having to draw my own cabinet based on these dimensions, 68" Tall, 26.5" Wide, and 34" Deep. That's what I found online. Then I went to the arcade and in person took a few other measurements that I used in my scaled down version. It was hard to measure since the cabinet in the Arcade was surrounded by other games and I couldn't move it.

      @Tom Snoodle To be honest, I really am not sure. I would say at least about $250 in parts / supplies, not including labor. (many many hours!)

    Why didn’t you use the same Coin Door as Pacman/Ms. Pacman/Galaga/Galaxian?

    • @jamiemcshan
      @jamiemcshan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because I wanted it to be as accurate as possible. Not sure I understand the question. Are you wondering about the grey vs black color? These units had a grey colored coin door originally with a small circle inlay between the coin slots. Again I tried to follow the original design as close as possible.
