oh man does marina blow away the vocals in skykiller as opposed to eye. but then again marina is such a badass with a killer vibrato that is just is not fair to compare. imo the 2013 lineup was the best. narumi , miho , haruna , marina and the captain. still cool to see this early lineup though - there isn't much out there with them
You know the fairy tale of H.Ch. Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling"? Just watch a concert of Mary's Blood to see what level Eye has reached. Amazing progress. And here you have to take into account when this concert took place. At the time of its duration, there were no bands from this trend yet. There weren't many old bands like Band-Maid, LoVendoЯ, Bridear, Cyntia, PassCode, Baby Metal yet. There wasn't even Aldious! There was only Scandal, but he is younger than Destrose (from Destroya). This is the beginning of a pioneering period, no wonder that it is still such a garage, there are no people at the concerts. Most of this line-up (Eye, Mari, Mina) a few years later was on a completely different musical level. Marina, Haruna, Miho started playing when the wave was big, many bands and the audience. Rather, they were not pioneers, they had it easier. It's just hard to compare these line-ups. Late Destrose can be compared to Mary's Blood, Aldious, maybe Bridear. And in these comparisons, the result is not obvious.
It could be the recording, but I don't really like Eye's voice here (if it's indeed her). She sounds much better now in Mary's Blood. Ofc she's also been taking singing lessons for a decade now.
