I love you, Marylou. You are a blessing to this world. Never forget that. This country owes you a debt of gratitude because you are an Olympic ICON and fabulous role model for our young women. ♥️
Hi, I’m wondering if Mary Lou has looked into the disease Lymphangioleiomyomatosis? Or LAM for short. It’s a very rare genetic disease that almost primarily affects women, and is often under-diagnosed, or mis-diagnosed (especially as pulmonary fibrosis and similar diseases) as other things. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and doing very well so far, but the disease usually eventually affects the lungs and causes many of the symptoms she has been having. It’s so rare that most doctors aren’t even aware it exists, therefore often not even on their radar when diagnosing lung diseases. I’m hoping she sees this or someone who knows her does and suggests looking into this disease as there are medications (and specialists across the country) that can help manage it.
Mary Lou just lights up the room…she is a bright light to this world we live in there….Mary Lou, continue to hang in there…you are amaaaaazing!!!! Dont ever forget that! ❤️
Public backlash what the heck? Mary Lou you are one of our national treasures! Thank you for sharing your story, I had no idea. Prayers, may the love of our Jesus cover you, protect you. Be well. He is with you.

Your girls took care of you. They love you and set up the GoFundMe to save you. I'm so sick of these trolls who are nothing but negative. You inspired me when you were in the Olympics. I could not get enough of watching you win and knowing you worked so hard to get there. Feel better soon. I'm praying for you. I think all of the positivity and prayers have lifted you up. ❤️🙏❤️
That's sweet. I also admire Mary Lou great talent hard work. But she also very blessed with many gifts. Including daughters. I may also be a troll. Only after interview. I felt sorry. Ms. Mary Lou! I am 52 and was recently diagnosed with the “mystery illness”, Chronic Lyme Disease which was very hard to diagnose, as most doctors are not looking for it or even accept that it exists. Chronic Lyme is a vector borne disease and the culprit of a vast number of symptoms and the imitator of many other diseases. It is known to affect lungs as well as heart, thyroid and brain. Its symptoms vary from patient to patient with different scales and target of organs. Tests are mostly inadequate and not everyone remembers getting bit by tick or develop the bullseye rash associated with it. I am praying for you! May the Spirit of the Lord Christ Jesus bring you answers, endurance and healing.
Yes, I know a man who had that and he ended up with a double lung transplant. He never really recovered and passed on 2 years ago. It all started with Lyme disease then he got covid...
Have you tried a high dosing of silver soul 22 part per million? A bottle a day for 14 days look up American Biotech Labs out of Alpine Utah used to sell their products and I helped several people with limes disease. I’m just saying that these folks did that protocol, and had bloodwork before and after, and after the protocol, the limes could no longer be detectived.
Do you do Hyperbarics HBOT ? .. I am involved in it, and it has good results dealing with flare-ups , and is a very homeopathic approach to skirt big pharma and medicines with terrible side effects..
I have adored her since she showed us her grit in 1984. She has always been humble, grateful, and such a role model. It pained me to hear her say "at the height of my fame" Marylou you were just a kid when your fame was at it's height. You are an extraordinary woman and so many of us still admire you. Hang in there, we are all still rooting for you and your daughters were raised well.

I completely understand where she is coming from. I was a medic and an RT (respiratory therapist) for 15 years total but now I’ve got issues with my lungs among a lot of other issues. 15-20 pneumonias since 2016 and 4 times I’ve had sepsis and nearly dying. I was on oxygen for several years but now I’m off. Hang in there Mary Lou

I have had lung damage for over 28 years… I totally didn’t deserve it but I understand your struggles. It took me 10 years to get my breath back but I have a lot of side effects. I get it… many hugs, it’s hard!
I can so relate Mary Lou especially when you said it’s more discouragement than anything. A year ago this coming August I was bent over and sneezed and my whole life changed. I thought I just put my back out or sprained the muscles and figured I’d be laying low at the most a week. Over the years I sprained the muscles and bounced back. Realizing this was a whole new ballgame after two weeks and being in severe pain hardly being able to move. At Christmas I was diagnosed with five compression fractures. Long story short I couldn’t do anything. Just taking a shower was overwhelming. I’m athletic also and have been a runner my whole life and I’m older than you. Five grown beautiful kids grandkids retired. My life was full with gardening and you know just on the go and loved being active! And then boom! Like I lost my identity. Soo frustrated, mad, broken, discouraged. I have always been healthy and I just couldn’t accept the fact that I was practically bed ridden. I’m a strong spirit filled believer and I would and still do pray and ask God why now? I’ve never blamed him and I have to trust and believe he will get me through. I’m grateful that I’m not paralyzed. I’m way better than I was at even three months ago and this has also affected my breathing. I will definitely keep you in my prayers that God continually keeps healing you. For faith in knowing it’s going to get better and for peace as we both walk this journey one day at a time. Romans 8:28 🩵
Bless your heart MaryLou ❤️ I just got over pneumonia…again. My 4th time. I’m 68 years old. Each time has been different. This time it came out of nowhere. It hit me hard. I took a job in January at a Driving School to help support myself. I missed over a month of school due to being so sick and weak, also so short of breath. The Dr warned me it was going to take awhile for me to bounce back. WOW, was he right. I feel horrible for you… I’m SO happy you pulled through this. I guess one night I was having a conversation with my late cousin who’d passed away over 2 years ago. I was talking out loud in the dark in the middle of the night…🤣. I can laugh about it now. My youngest had come home to take me to Urgent Care and there they did a chest x-ray and prescribed 2 different antibiotics. She’s the one that overheard me talking, and got out of bed and asked me who I was talking to… I said “John”. We were all very close to him; we all miss him so much 🙏🏻❤️

@@Claire76genx Glad to hear you are getting to feeling better. Be aware that you may have to explain your experience every new doctor you visit. I was depressed for sometime and cried every time I told my story to someone. I’m better now telling my story, but every once in a while it gets to me. It’s been years now and recently I had a CT scan done. The technician asked about my liver because she could see the springs on the scan. In telling her I cried and it took me by surprise because it’s been so many years now. I hope you don’t have this happen to you, but if you do just know you have made it now. I hope and pray that you recover from your experience and live a happy life. Like you said not many people have been on a ventilator and are still around. Keep getting better. You sound like a positive person so use that to your advantage. God bless you. You are a survivor!

She is such a sweet soul. Praying for complete healing.
She visited our Health Center back in late 80’s, I have a picture with her. She’s so pleasant! God Bless her! Praying for her🙏🙏🙏🙏
During Covid, I had pneumonia for 6 months. Not from Covid, but from all of the smoke from the forest fires. I didn’t think I would ever recover. It’s the worst feeling, not being able to breathe. Hang in there, Mary Lou! You’ll beat this! ❤
Oh goodness bless you!! I have a disease that is a form of vasculitis that affects my lungs greatly!! My growths are getting worse in my lungs. It came on during pregnancy at 37 yrs old I am now 41. I am just grateful to be alive and here to raise my family. But it’s a struggle to breathe everyday. I feel for anyone dealing with lung issues. 😔

I love you, Marylou. You are a blessing to this world. Never forget that. This country owes you a debt of gratitude because you are an Olympic ICON and fabulous role model for our young women. ♥️
She’s my son in law’s cousin. There were a ton of Rettons at my daughter’s wedding shower. Very nice family. I admire her.
Was she vaccinated?
She needs to be tested for mold and her house

I watched her in the Olympics and she was amazing. I’m glad she has a family whose helping her recover. Get well soon Mary Lou! You’re awesome!
I pray for you! You saved me when I was about 17 and in traction in the hospital and watching the 1984 Olympics. Your positive attitude was very uplifting.
you can do this Mary Lou! Stay strong!!!
Who doesnt love Mary Lou Retton. I remember her outstanding performance at the Olympics and that smile. Get well Mary Lou❤
Nothing so bad as not be able to breath. However I was so dismayed at her dishonesty. Right! Not for me to judge. Who knows why?
Thank you for sharing yourself with us for all of these years, Mary Lou! You are a treasure. Praying for your recovery and happiness! Thank you to Lou-Lou's daughters for inspiring ML every day!
Ms.
I’ve read that ivermectin works on Lyme disease
Yes, I know a man who had that and he ended up with a double lung transplant. He never really recovered and passed on 2 years ago. It all started with Lyme disease then he got covid...
Have you tried a high dosing of silver soul 22 part per million? A bottle a day for 14 days look up American Biotech Labs out of Alpine Utah used to sell their products and I helped several people with limes disease. I’m just saying that these folks did that protocol, and had bloodwork before and after, and after the protocol, the limes could no longer be detectived.
You are absolutely correct. I have PTLD.
I just watched MY baby birth a baby!!! I know EXACTLY what she means!
I sat glued to the tv when I was a little girl. Watching this exceptionally brilliant athlete in the Olympics. I remember goosebumps as she won the Gold. And how proud our country was over America’s sweetheart. Loved you then girl. And I love you now. ❤❤❤
We love you. I'm so glad people helped you financially. I prayed for you today!
Praise God for healing! Her daughters and all the people who donated are just amazing. I wish people would stop thinking that because someone had a lot of money at one point, they are exempt from the trials of life. I'm glad she's doing better! ❤🙏
🤣
My Mom had Pulmonary Fibrosis. I don’t know what Mary Lou has but not being able to breathe is so awful! Saying a prayer for you Mary Lou!

My father as well. He was set to have a double lung transplant, but his heart just wasn't well enough, and he passed away after a routine procedure preparing for the big surgery. It was a long road for sure, and would never wish that on anyone. Prayers coming from CT to your mom, and to MaryLou. ❤
@@mommy0715. I’m so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your family.❤
The scaring of the lungs sounds like Pulmonary Fibrosis, a disease my mother had. It’s a vicious disease. My mother was on oxygen 24/7, she wasn’t eligible for a lung transplant due to other health problems. She passed away July 3, 2014, 62 years old.😢

My mother suffered from the same disease. So horrible to watch. I'm sorry you had to experience that with your Mom as well. May they be at peace.

Ms. Retton: I suffered some bad breathing problems years back (not nearly as severe as yours). I was well in 3 days. Wishing you nothing but the best of health and happiness. America loves you! ❤

God bless you! I had pneumonia as a baby (11 months old) just before the Blizzard of 1978 hit here in Mass. I had family members that dealt with lung issues. This is what's wrong with the health care system in this country.
Healing prayers for you Mary Lou!! I had a total hip replacement six's year with a bad hip. I watched your video of your healing and the surgery. It gave me the strength to have my surgery. Then four Days later i was rushed to the hospital with a septic gallbladder. My gallbladder was dead for a while. I almost died. I had a near death experience. My heart goes out to you and your family. God gave you and I a second chance to be with our families and to enjoy the life he gave us. Thank you Lord!!!
Praying for Mary Lou, her family, and friends. She is a national icon and it's a blessing for her to share her testimony. Praying that her health continues to improve and for healing of her lungs. My mother had pneumonia twice and has chronic asthma. She almost had to get put on a ventilator almost two years ago. I think it's environmental what Mary Lou and what my mother went through. My mother is doing much better, but I always have to keep a close eye on her when she has problems with her breathing. Continuous prayers to her and to her family.

What about a trial of NAC? Might help. Prayers for Mary Lou.
Life can really throw you crap sometimes...praying for a fast recovery. 🙏✌️❤️
She's lucky to be alive but she's changed forever. Not fair but she's still alive for reason. God. Not her time yet. ❤🙏
Mary Lou you are a living doll. We are the same age, and I've always felt so empowered by you. You are still the most sweetest darling of America.

I just got over pneumonia…again.
I feel horrible for you…
I’m SO happy you pulled through this.
She’s the one that overheard me talking, and got out of bed and asked me who I was talking to…
I said “John”.
We were all very close to him; we all miss him so much 🙏🏻❤️
My fiance was diagnosed recently with pulmonary fibrosis after having pneumonia, as well. Horrid illness. Sending prayers to MLR and her family.🙏

Yes, trump got sick to the point. They fly to the hospital. Oh, but that was before he got the covid shot. Trump did the covid shot along with family. After his brush with covid.
She is anti vax. I say she had covid and a denier. Shame on her for not being truthful
Agree... and it gets blamed on Cvd, forest fires etc. Ummm nope, vcc damage!
