i'm so shocked on how well he does the American accent
Yea. But his British accent isnt very harsh (not a northern or inner city accent or anything). People with lighter accents can learn new accents easier.
i guess that explains it
he does that slight southern accent really really well
+roberson644 He does have a strong one. People who are not english think that because they hear him in the walking dead. He is fully english, he has a strong accent.
I thought he was american!
hearing him like this is some next level mindfuck
BFFs Engineer 😭😭
Lol, expand your outlook, watch stuff from other countries. You all don’t know actors outside of the States. You are missing out on some prime TV/movies!
Not for me, I watched him on teachers and was sad when he left, the show was still good but he left a massive void
@@hobnobhead4043 I always think of him as Simon
@Eazy C But he's well spoken, that's a good trait to have, well spoken people come across as smarter.
ive only heard and seen this actor as Rick, so hearing his real voice, especially with learning hes english is really messing with my brain xD
Watch human traffic he's in that and very young, you'll probably struggle to spot him
ikr ahhaha
+DalekQueen Same here! When I first heard an interview with him in his real accent, I was like WTF?! lol...
ikr?!!!
+Alina Herd ikr = I Kill Rick?
COOOOOOOOOOOORRRRAAAAAAAALL
😂😂😂😂
sunttu333 🤣🤣🤣
Is dead 😭
@Natalie Province It's not even spoiler really Lol
@Natalie Province Explain?
His american accent is amazing. Didn't even know he was british until I finished season 3 lol.
I barely realized today he was english lol
Same
Same
He sounds more American than English tbh
I just finished season three. What a coincidence
"stuff" and "thangs"
Lori, isnt that enough?
omg this is exactly what i thought when i clicked on this video hahhaa
I'm doing stuff Lori.... thaaaangs
i love how he's got a better american accent than most american people
true
is that even possible???
Marcus Garcia no
????? what lmao
God some of you Americans are getting buthurt it was just a joke
Why is Rick speaking in a posh English voice and smiling. Why is he all clean and calm looking. This is freaking me out. WAY too real!!
Yeah where's the PTSD in his eyes!?!?
@@a1uplift212😂😂😂😂😂😂
Such an underrated actor
Please search up the word ''underrated'' in the dictionairy. Andrew Lincoln is playing in The Walking Dead, one of the most famous TV shows ever created, if not THE most famous. How does that make him underrated? He's as famous as one can be lol.
Daylet He's not nearly as famous as some of the top mainstream actors such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp. Also, I'm fairly certain Game of Thrones is even more famous than TWD.
There's still a difference though. He might not be as famous as someone say Brad Pitt. However, Andrew Lincoln is NOT underrated.
Not being the best / most famous =/= underrated.
Daylet Being underrated means being underappreciated or undervalued and he's not that valued outside of TWD. I'd argue he's as good an actor as any of those and yet not nearly as popular in which case you could say he's underrated.
you guys do realize that calling someone 'underrated' is a compliment right?
Dude I have the biggest man crush on Rick Grimes
Yeah, but it's more of a looking up to type thing. I'm not like sexually attracted. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just not me
He looks hawt in the picture where he's standing in front of Clara
He is pretty hot. He has this swashbuckling sexy thing going on.
I have a hot big titted woman crush on him and I'm a dude.
Isaac Ortiz
Nice! Me too!
truth is, to me its weird to see him speaking with english accent after watching him on walking dead so much, seems like the original one is the fake hahahah what a fine actor.
lol none of them have authentic accents
Guitarists are Gods Glenn does
Matthew Price Steven (Glenn) is Korean like I am Scottish it makes no difference we're all human
herobrinetoffee the fox Its about time I figure out someone besides me is Scottish!
jadzia lambert u hide u never know what could b out there
even the governor is english in real life
+wiisalute I'm from the UK and noticed Maggie and the Governor were both British when watching the show however I had no idea Rick Grimes was.
TKSnatch its amazing how Andrew does a southern accent
And Maggie and Morgan
+TKSnatch Morgan is british in real life too
And the governer
Andrew Lincoln IS Rick Grimes just like Hugh Laurie IS House. These characters just cannot exist in any other form now.
Not if you're British! I see Hugh Laurie as prince regent but you guys across the pond won't really know that no doubt.
Albert Holden Nah man, you missed my point. I'm not saying that Hugh Laurie is only House I meant that there could be no other House. Like when I look at House I don't see Hugh Laurie I see House if that makes any fucking sense bro I'm too high for this...
Ankri I'm dead 😂😂
Also Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
I think it is were you live for the accent; not where she was born (Maggie)
"my brothers voice in my ear... don't fuck it up" HAHAHA I DIED!
ThatBritishKid OMG I LIVED!
He's always so insightful and thorough when he answers questions. Andrew is a real treat.
lol Danai gurira (michonne anthony) as well :)
Dea Dervishi It's true! I feel like they really care about their work :)
ceesab
Yah.
ceesab
I can't wait until Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) comes on Talking Dead!
Dea Dervishi Omg, I know. He's at so few events because of his age, so I hope he's included more as he grows up
He's actually a really nice dude in person too.
You’ve met him?
We all make fun of him for Coral but that's actually how a lot of southerners say it.
Thaaaangs
C. Lundy I don't understand whats so funny about Thaangs. It sounds cool to me actually.
+Vic Vinegar I'm from alabama and that's not true lol
Patrick true
Alec Shunnarah it is so for a lot of people in the south to say that, and I talk that way and so is a lot of Other people in TN say that, me being of them- I have a hard time to say Carl
Being from the South I used to hate when actors would try a southern accent and suck at it. But most of the Walking Dead cast are spot-on with their Southern accent
Except for Maggie.
@@lirahbaril5807 oh man her accent su*ks so badddd
@@lirahbaril5807 she still goated tho
She's from the country. Maggie sounds like she's from the mountains of W Virginia.@@lirahbaril5807
6 seasons......6 fucking seasons of me watching this show and i had no clue this guy had a british accent till right now.....fuackkkk
Michael Eade IKR SAME
Maggie too, if u didnt know
Michael Eade SAME HERE THIS IS FUCKING MINDBLOWING!!!!
Dakota Atteberry you guys never see love actually?
Did you guys know that Andrew Lincoln is only his stage name? His real name is Andrew Clutterbuck!
I'm English, and was 3 seasons into the show before I found out he was actually English - I was blown away I couldn't tell what so ever! amazing actor
Kaarl 7117 Holy shit. I was up to season 3 when I found out that he was British too.
same for me except i hadnt realised for 6 seasons lol
It took me 6 seasons to find out
so you never saw love actually then
Did you know lennie james the guy who plays morgan is also british?
+HazimusLegendN57 Andrew Lincoln is from Australia tho
Destrage ion He's from England
HazimusLegendN57 No he is from Australia
HazimusLegendN57 Nvm
+adam bouzakti (thethreebrothers) She's American, she's just been there long enough to pick up a slight accent.
He's so gorgous and the accent. __________________________
I was season 8 years old when I learnt that Rick was actually British
I was now lmao
Damnnn hellaaaa lateeee
Coral!
+Owen Schmowen remind me what that's from?
Because of the accent, sometimes in the show where he has to shout out for Carl, it sounds like he's saying "Coral". People made it part of a meme i.imgflip.com/m53fp.jpg
oh ok, i never noticed. i'll be listening for it now. lol
Sierra Jones Haha, he doesn't do it too often but when it happens it's pretty funny.
Lol! I'm sorry! I can't control that. Carl scares me sometimes.
"I can hear my brothers voice echoing, DON'T FUCK IT UP" LOLOLOL

And Stuuff.
Lori, isnt that enough?

I LOVE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Holy shit I never would've expected him to be British LOL
all the best actors are
@@WilsoMusic lmao
Funny how the 'accent' thing is the complete opposite way round for Brits my age. Andrew Lincoln was part of one of Britain's most talked-about dramas of the mid 90s and was later the lead in a popular comedy drama about school teachers. Those 2 characters were so memorable, when he turned up as a US sheriff's deputy talking with a convincing southern accent, I couldn't believe it. My head was spinning for about half of TWD season 1.
Holy crap I can't believe how different he sounds. Does his american accent sound original? I'm not a native English speaker so I can't notice differences.
chad88019 Damn, that's amazing. I thought he was American before I watch this.
It does actually, it was spotty in the first season, but from season 2 onwards he sounds like a Southern American.
Joseph Price that's a good acting
AJ Chubber Most of my family has a VERY thick Southern Accent, so I could tell it wasn't his natural accent, but I totally thought he was an American still lol. Now it sounds so authentic.
Some people find it funny the way he pronounces "Carl". They say it sounds like "coral".
It's really amazing how Andrew can easily shift from British to Southern American accent and back without difficulty. :)
That's because every dialect of American English came from Britain so it's easy for a British person to do them.
jesus he is so goddamn hot
negan is way hotter
Daya Subramanian this is the first time I'm hearing him speak in a British accent.....*fainting*
nah abes head
Daya Subramanian yeah
Daya Subramanian I KNOWWWWW
He's British??????? Wow, after two weeks of binge watching - yeah, I just got into the show but I'm nearly caught up - I can't quite wrap my brain around this one.
I was so surprised too!
Yeah its weird hearing an actor in an American accent, then hear their natural accent. Same with Hugh Laurie. Didnt know at first while watching House M.D. that he is British
WickedJuggalo82
I hard time watching the pilot of House a few months ago because it completely threw me hearing Hugh in an American accent. Sounded authentic but completely wrong, like a bad dub.
its weird because its the other way around for me, I got used to him on shows like Teachers and This Life, it took me until season 2 to put that to the back of my mind.
Klutoch It seems particularly wrong if, like me, you grew up with shows like Blackadder and a Bit of Fry and Laurie. Top marks on his accent though.
I'm a mad Game of Thrones fan and haven't watched TWD for years as it grew stale for me. But I will say WHEN IS THIS GUY GETTING AN EMMY? Rocks every scene he is in, powerful actor with great emotion.
He sounds like Tom Hiddleston
He is so funny! And that accent just blows my mind. I would have never guessed he was English! He and Hugh Laurie are the best.
this completely fucked me up omg whaaat
He's also a nice guy who confess to kiara in "love actually":)
He does a very good Southern accent, I lived in the South (Atlanta actually) for awhile, and I can barely tell he's having to fake it. Lauren's accent is also very good.
He's done harder thangs.
I think S9 and 10 are great, but it feels empty without Rick. Such a great character and Andrew is a damn good actor.
HIS VOICE IS HEAVEN OH LORDIE
i want to see him go between accents now
Norman Reedus said in an interview that he would always show up super early like hours early. And was always super excited. It’s neat to see him talk about it here.
There is such a big difference between his voice and his actor voice
How? I cant hear it..
Most of the actors I really love are the actors that have an English accent that I never knew they had
Rick is my favourite character
Rick....I love you 😍
How do people not know he's British yet? Fuck..
It's like not knowing Hugh Jackman is Australian or not knowing Liam Neeson is Irish...
TBH, I didn't know that Neeson was Irish
C. Lundy Well that one can be forgiven because he really doesn't sound it that much..
LovableWierdo WAIT WTF?
HUGE JACKMAN IS AUSTRALIAN?
Dream War Yeah...
So is Dominic Purcell..
Dream War funnily enough during an interview fro CHAPPIE HUGH Jackman comments on how he's played Americans for so long that he'd forgotten what he originally sounded like and had to work with a voice teacher to relearn his own accent again!! but yes not to lose the point here ANDREW LINCOLN is also a brilliant actor!!
I have to protect Coral.
Good actor right there, he does his job, researches about the situations and his character.
He was in a series called This life in the 90s proud to be British :D
Everybody is talking about the accent but I'm freaked out that he said "zombie" instead of walker
Never in a million years would i think he sound like that💀
His voice on set suits the character so well
sad that he's leaving the series, but it raised my hopes of seeing him in comedy romance films again.
I had no idea he was using a different voice in the walking dead! It sounds so weird to hear him talk in his normal accent. He does a great job changing his voice. Wow.
He's so present :)
He does it so well I forget what he really sounds like.
ITS SO WEIRD HEARING HIM BRITISH WTF HE SEEMS GENTLE NOWF
Brilliant! Seeing him do this voice truly shows that this show has multiple amazing talents
"Mah name is Rick Grimeeees."
It's "Graaaaaahhhhhhhmz". We do not pronounce the letter "i" in the South.
I live in Houston and I pronounce it as, ''Grahmes.' lmao.
He's fantastic Andrew/Rick he deserves to be in much more movies/programs etc so hopefully after the Walking Dead we will see him in lead roles in movies but I don't want the Walking Dead to never end either lol...
fucking hell, this guy is a really good actor, i never this is his real accent, i've only heard him speak in strike back, thumbs up andrew, he got his TWD accent well like an American
rick is class
My favorite actor for sure, what a talented guy
wow I've been watching TWD and I never knew about his accent. I LOVE IT!!!
I was so surprised the first time I heard his real voice
Just googled Andrew's voice coach...not the Jessica Drake I was looking for..
Funny people's reactions to his accent. I've been a fan of his for 15 years since he starred on uk show Teachers. I struggled with his american accent and still wish his character could talk in his normal British accent. I do prefer it.
he's so amazing!
Such an unexpectedly attractive man, when you know how crazy talented he is. Them eyes too!
CARRREL!!!!
This was around the time rick bit that guys throat
Not everyone sounds exactly the same, regardless of where they come from. 2 people from the same area of southern georgia won't sounds exactly like each other. That's one reason why I find their accents so believable on the show. Helps that they're all phenomenal.
CAOUGHRAL!!
they all do a great job with their accents...not as easy as some might think.
I'm from the south. His accent is spot on.
Amo su acento
Me voy a descargar este vídeo solo para escuchar su voz 😂💖
OMG HE SOUNDS LIKE TOM HIDDLESTON!!!! AM I THE ONLY ONE TO THINK THIS?????? *DIES*
+Joanna Jackier YOURE RIGHT!!!!
BRUH
Both are middle class English accents, fairly typical really! What a pair of actors though!
Everyone thinks he's an American before they watch interviews so yes he's an amazing actor
I really want to see the phonetic accent thing! That sounds really cool!
A couple years ago (think 2016) me and older bro wanted to watch the after show. When he talked, we were shock. We actually thought he did a voice over and it was extremely good (I was 9-10 years old and he was 10-11 and we didn't know that people could fake accents because it's Hollywood and Hollywood can make everything believable)
it feels so weird hearing him talk with the accent haha
Ha! Rick trying to speak with a British accent! (
There is no such thing as a british accent "" He is speaking with an Southern English accent.
cool story bro :-D
@@CUCKOO9999 by that logic there is no such thing as an american accent either :D
Andrew Lincoln I really started crush on you when I watched TheWalkingDead this week only. I love all the cast and specially with Maggie and Glen. Still not yet watch the season 3..ofw here from Oman :-)
Rick is an original bad ass! Im a huge fan of Andrew Lincoln!
I mean, I figured that he didn't actually have a Southern accent, but I never would have guessed that he is English.
Mind = Blown
*This is the most shocking thing that I've seen this month! :O*
i love this show sooooo much rick is my absolute favorite character out of everybody
The woman who plays Maggie is also British. So is the gentleman who plays Morgan, and the gentleman who played the Governor is one of Andrew's friends from the UK. A Southern accent is so closely related to UK dialects that is easy to duplicate. Liam Neeson pulled off a great Appalachian accent in Next of Kin.
im not used to hearing him as andrew, this is so weird!
I live in the south and had no idea he was British.
Holy shit... Andrew went to the same school as me!
Holly cow... I could never tell he was british!!! I had the same surprise when I saw an interview with the kid from The Millers!!!
O god. He's just so dreamy.
Is it just me or did the dude asking the question sound exactly like Adam Driver??
Oh yeah
When you hear it you can't unhear it
Thanks heaps for this. 💖
