I'm really glad you appreciate it! I was worried real time drawing videos would be boring and too long, but if people want to watch them, I'll keep making them 😄
Beautiful! I might suggest you look at the shadows. The addition of the colors from the macarons and raspberries as well as the blue would give the shadows more depth and richness. For continuity around the drawing I would incorporate the colors of each item into all the items. If you use blue, put a bit in the leaves, use it as some of the berry highlights, add a bit to the filling. The same for the greens and berry colors. I understand the difficulty of taping a real time drawing, but it’s such a great teaching tool for beginning artists! Yours will be a huge help to others!
Thank you! I hear you, I'm just trying to keep it as simple as possible. I want my videos to be easy to follow so I don't want to complicate the process too much, especially in terms of color.
I really admire your work. Thank you for your video. -I felt sure you'd blend out the background with a brush, but then you didn't! I'm so curious -given the realism in the rest of the piece why did you choose to leave it in a more raw state?
Thank you for you kind words 😊 I wanted there to be a contrast between the background and the macarons so the macarons would stand out more. Since the macarons needed to be nice and smooth, I thought it made sense not to blend the background too much.
@@alexgraybergh You're welcome! Thank you for explaining it to me. What struck me most about the main macaron was it's beautiful roundness and the light bouncing from it. If only I'd thought of the word smooth - I might have understood!
I love the light pink magenta color but would switch it on my own drawings to the Lightfast Heather because of the lightfastness but if that isn’t on anyone’s radar , draw away!😊
Sadly I don't have Lightfast colored pencils, but I've been hearing great things about them. I hope I'll get them someday. But Polychromos is also meant to be good when it comes to ligtfastness.
Thank you so much! I actually found it very challenging, bit it seems that projects that are the hardest help improve skills the most so it was worth it 😀

You can use another solvent, like Gamblin Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits or Zest-it Pencil Blend. There are benefits to using solvent, but it's possible to skip that step. I do have videos on my channel in which I use colored pencils alone with no solvent. If you're interested, you can find the playlist at th-cam.com/video/DyhNIkxTCUQ/w-d-xo.html
@@Xxxx_Yyyy_97 Sure, I can do that. Just bear in mind that it might take me awhile. Can you give me links to some photos of them that you like so I know what to aim for?
