Hi! Could you do a video on your whole PCAT experience? Like how you studied, for how long, what materials you used and how was your testing experience? Thanks! :)
Subscribed!! I just got a volunteer position at my community pharmacy and I'm super duper excited! Thanks so much for this video and I hope pharmacy school goes well for you!!
Thank You Dr. Alyssa for this wonderful info!!!! I've been admitted into the University of Florida's College of Pharmacy for this coming fall so I'm psychologically ready for the challenge!!!! Looking forward to being at the top like u and opening up my own pharmacy practice!!! :)
hi Alyssa. Thanks for sharing your Pharmacy School experience with us. I wish you all the best I have an interview in 2 weeks am really nervous. If you have time could you do a video on interview questions. thanks
Thanks for watching! I do not want to release where I go to school over TH-cam, but if you private message me on one of my social media accounts I'll let you know!
Hi, thanks for your video. It's very helpful. I also want to know what is your pharmacy school name? and where is the campus location? could you send email to me as anh.tran29991@yahoo.com thanks Alyssa
Great video! I have 2 questions. First, I'm planning to apply for 6 year program directly from high school. Will it be different from applying to pharmacy school after college? And can non-us citizen can proceed her career after graduating pharmacy school?
Yes I think the application process is different, because you don't have to go through the whole PharmCAS process and take the PCAT, as far as I'm aware. I think it's an easier application process but probably much more competitive. Yes you can, however you would need to take the steps to become licensed in the states. Hope this helps!
I think it's a good idea, it definitely helps with knowing the different drugs and how a pharmacy works, but it's definitely not necessary or required. I don't have my pharm tech certification and I'm doing just fine!
As long as you have completed everything else, you can submit it! You can technically even submit it before all of your transcripts were received, as long as you had completed everything else on your end. Just make sure you triple check EVERYTHING before you submit it, because you can't go back and change most of it.
I don't know what to do! I am just so confused with my life. Which branch of Pharmacy do you wnt to go into. And how many hours a week do you put into studying?
I'm not exactly sure what branch, but I'm thinking a community setting because I want to be around people. The hospital setting is a bit too antisocial for me. I probably put in around 20 hours of studying outside of class sessions and watching lectures. I treat school like a full time job, so I try to do something for school for the same amount of time that I would be working.
1. take pre-requisite 2. take pcat 3. apply. 100% acceptance rate. They accept everyone nowadays. There are million of schools, there's always a spot for everyone.
Step 1: Have a pulse and apply for student loans Step 2: Accepted! Pharmacy schools will accept anyone with a heartbeat who can apply for student loans. BLS now estimates 0% job growth, they will actually be CUTTING jobs due to automation. Do the research on the dismal state of the pharmacy field or you will regret it. You will be $100k's in debt and racing to the bottom for low-wage part-time work

How difficult do you think to get admission in pharmacy is it so difficult and outreach most students?

Its very Interesting...
is it a good idea to have a pharm tech certification

Alyssa Marie thank you !!
Do I have to wait for the pharmcas to calculate my gpa?! or I can submit it before?! The transcripts already arrived

How is the program going for you thus far? Is it mostly chemistry based? How old are you?
It's going great! It's definitely a little bit of everything...chemistry and biology have both been heavily emphasized. I'm 27!

Which college did you go to?
Undergrad?

If only that was true!
