A quick & simple way to turn newspaper; an object with an extremly short life-span into beautiful, and long lasting bowls that would make a great gift! The amount of possibilities and options with this project is endless - you will definately see me experimenting with newspaper again on this channel!

I’d recommend for anyone trying to add salt if mixing with flour, as mold can grow
It's wonderful and simple to do
Commercial paper mills use chemicals to make paper, the ink used to make newspaper has chemicals, some chemicals are toxic some not. I would not recommend using your bowls to hold foodstuffs!
I think as long as the foodstuffs are dry it should be ok. The glue also serves as a barrier.
Heey there, I'm astonished by your editing and the genuineness shown through the trial & errors you flowed along with. Thanks for sharing creative ways to reuse paper! I don't read the newspapers often so I haven't put much thought about how truly short their life span is before now. I've been making my own paper lately out of recycled paper and plan to make a sketchbook in the future! Thank you the inspirations to turn that mass of pulp into anything your imagination wants it to be. Keep up the work! I frankly love the look of the cut out words in the bowl btw

Can I use binder gum?
I've never tried it with binder gum, but I don't see why it wouldn't work - you might want to do a few tests on smaller pieces before hand though :)

What plastic did u use at the last one?
Not 100% sure what you're referring to, but to remove the last piece I wrapped the bowl in clingfilm (a thin plastic sheet made out of either PVC or LDPE)
Is it totally waterproof?
I would say water resistant not waterproof - probably okay to get wet, but I wouldn't recommend using it to store liquids etc

PVA Glue - there are only 3 ingredients needed to make this project: newspaper, pva glue & water.

JMakes I was referring to the changes made by TH-cam yesterday that means only creators with more than 4000 hours of view time in the past 12 months are now eligible for monetisation - but if you’ve not had the dreaded email about it then that must be good news! It’s impacted some of my favourite channels and I hoped yours wasn’t one of them :-)

I’ve not actually heard about that change from TH-cam, but my channel gets around 80,000 minutes a month & im not very good at maths but I think that must be more than 400 hours if I didn’t get an email? I like this video and I’m anxious to make the bowls but are you using glue Elmers glue it doesn’t say anywhere
Don't be anxious at all, its a really simple process, I just used regular old PVA, which can be brought from any stationary/craft or hardware store :)

I think if I remember correctly, I used clingfilm, although other release agents like soft soap or vaseline would work

If you don't have glue, you can do 1 part flour to 2 parts water and put it in the microwave for 15 second intervals until it is very thick.
Never tried this but if it works, it sounds like a great alternative - thank you!
@@jmakes3745 Just make sure to add lots of salt to the paste or it might get a little moldy when it is drying.
This is awesome!! Do I need to put cling wrap on and then add vaseline to the cling wrap..and then put paper mache on?
@@gingerdodson4268 the cling wrap will easily come off the bowl, so if you do that, you don't need vaseline. Just put the cling wrap on the bowl and then the paper

No its surprisingly rigid and resilient to drops etc :)
