Yeah, the objects have authors because the game wasn't originally programmed to calculate final quality per work increment, and instead goes the easier way of just checking once on completion. I do think you overvalue item quality in a way that negatively impacts your enjoyment of the game, but so do I and sometimes I really enjoy seeing the pawns roll really good stuff; maybe on balance you get more enjoyment overall. I do want to give you a tip about the unfinished items: if you put the string "unfi" into the new search function in the game it will of course give you a list of all the full names of everything on the map that has 'unfinished' in the name, and that's a lot easier to click to check each one than it is to do the same thing for stuff on shelves (for me at least).

Just install the mod, its fine. The fun bit is you building stuff, not how hard the micro is for it to be optimal

Yeah I use mods that could be min maxxed (no authors, not being blamed for deaths on my maps, and I just don't abuse that. DO it, it will make you more sane :O

No job authors isn't min/max. It's just QoL that keeps total strangers from gunking up your production with a bunch of unfinishable products.

Hmmm, what loader is that? Mine just hangs on a black streen until all the mods have updated and loaded, which tends take a minute or two. No fancy progress bars...
