These people don’t say someone is quiet as an insult, or to mark it as a bad trait. Being quiet is just a little out of the ordinary, and it’s a trait which sociopaths and the sorts often carry. They’re simply pointing out it was the first sign of something being off with them, but they’re not saying it’s a bad trait.

I once accepted a christian pamphlet from a woman when I was catching a bus home from high school. I did it because my grandma was going to visit and I thought I could show it to her to make her feel happy or smthn (I'm not and have never been religious but my grandma always wanted me to be and was always kinda weird) and no one else was taking one so I though it would make the lady feel nice. The lady was really greatful and happy I took a pamphlet so we joked around and chatted a little while the bus came. She made a mention of Heaven and Hell and I jokingly said something like "better than being caught in the third place!" And she just...stared.
    "Third place? What third place?"
    "You know, in between."
It was supposed to be a joke about being stuck here on earth. The lady must have been thinking I meant purgatory. I can't even describe the look on her face. It was, like, mad i think? Idk. Her eyes were so freaky, wide and focussed on me and she went so still that I genuinely thought she was going to attack. So so soooo glad my bus came quickly after that. Like, holy shit I was a stupid kid to think that just because I could talk peacfully with my weird-ass grandma about her religion that I could talk to this stranger just as well. I'll never be naive enough to accept a pamphlet (esp a religious one) from someone on the street ever again, let alone strike up a conversation with them to be polite! Lesson fucking learned, I guess.

It's called "Boggle Limit". I have a high tolerance for peculiar/weird/offbeat/strange/eccentric in people. My "boggle limit" is set too high. I'm too used to crazy. So will be chatting with someone (stranger) and totally not really register the "Outside the Normal Box" issues. Could be also that I essentially don't believe anyone is actually "normal"...Very few of us are legitimately healthy in body, mind and/or spirit (myself included) so there is that...However, my "boggle limit" for unkindness, cruelty, bitchiness, meanness and overall general nastiness is set very, very low. As folk find out.

Sixth grade Nature’s Classroom field trip: There was a boy named Camden that kept saying he was gonna break into my cabin (I’m a girl btw). One of my male friends told me a few years later that he shared a bunk with Camden. He slept on the bottom bunk cause he had a broken arm at the time and Camden dragged him under the bed with him. He had to leave early because he had supposedly brought a knife and I never saw or heard from him again.
Edit: Also, a few years ago, back when I was in that weird phase where I was convinced I was a Werewolf, I went to summer camp and there was this boy that I liked to call Creepy Spear Kid. He had long blonde hair and would always carry knives in his vest (we were allowed to use knives at camp to carve things). He would always sit on this one rock and just sharpen a long stick into a spear. We made eye contact once while he was doing it. He nodded. I thought he was a Werewolf too at the time. Also we saw a deer in the woods once and he just bolted after it and nobody went after him. Luckily he returned to us later. No idea how he found us, though cause we were far away from where he left us.

Some quiet weird dude sat next to me in one class senior year of high school. It was a science class so our tables were just big enough to sit 2 people side by side. Right after we got the seating chart on the first day of class, he started sitting at an empty table next to the one we had been assigned at. Fine with me because I'm an introvert too and I liked having the whole table to myself. Throughout the year we would get into groups of 4 for some projects, I partnered with a guy that I worked at a grocery store with and his friend (they were the super popular type in middle school and such and I was far from it so that was kinda weird too but by high school I was the weird but funny dude that looked/was high all the time so I guess they liked me being around 🤷‍♂️) well this guy who sat near me didn't have a group so we said fuck it and let him join ours. The 3 of us were making jokes and being dumb during our time doing group projects and the other dude didn't really talk or do much unless he was talking about the actual material. But whatever, he's the weird dude and that's just that. Fast forward to two years after high school, I found out he was the guy that shot up the El Paso Walmart and killed 22 people. I sat next to and interacted with Patrick Crusius, future mass murderer. Glad he didnt decide to do that in high school.

I had (clinical) depression/severe depressive disorder for some 15 years and was an atheist all along. I had an explanation for everything, why God just couldn't be real. Why would stuff like that happen to children? Well, one day, I - a nonbeliever - just woke up normal. My depression (screaming, therapy, suicide attempts, therapy, despair, hatred, therapy...) - it was just gone! I am depression-free OVER NIGHT for over 5 years now. I remember praying the night before, screaming silently in my bed for God to make the feels of heart- and mind-shattering sadness and despair go away. And he did. I am a believer since that day. It was GOD who entered my life and never left again.
You might wanna read Psalm 88, if you wanna dig deeper on depression and the cruelty of this world. If not, here are some verses, I managed to pick out. Lot's of people do these kind of verse postings, this shall be my first. There's SO MANY verses to give peace and let you understand. It's very hard to make a good choice.
What's sure, is that we live in times of trial and free will often enough is and has been used for sinful ways... But God loves us and doesn't want it to be that way. That's the story told throughout the bible, imho. REPENT!
      Job 2:10:
Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?
      Proverbs 16,9:
In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the LORD establishes their steps.
      Ephesians 6:12:
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
      Isa 60:18:
Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.
      Isa 55:8-9:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
      John 3, 16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
