It was nice to hear from Joan on the intro - southern charm! We’re just back from our maiden voyage in our Class A motor home and are booked for Vogel in the Fall. This video is timed perfectly! LOL!
just wanted to say thank you again for posting and sharing this. my wife and i did this exact tour today, Dec 30, 2020. you’re an excellent tour guide!!!
Thank you so much for this video. For the last twenty three years, we have vacationed at Vogel SP, primarily as campers, but we've stayed in the cabins a few times also. Each summer we also visit each of these waterfalls (I grew up camping at DeSoto Falls as a child), Neel's Gap, and of course we always enjoy a bag (or two) of boiled peanuts from Sunrise Grocery. These are indeed special spots to us. However, this year we are unable to take a summer vacation as I recuperate from knee replacement surgery. So your video was just the thing we needed to see as we have certainly missed visiting these locations in person this year. Thank you for helping us to feel as if we got to go anyway. Your videos are well done and we enjoy them greatly.
very nice camp ground our big rig won't fit but the truck camper might loved the waterfalls and seeing your better half with you great video safe travels take care
Thanks a bunch. Other campgrounds nearby that are big rig friendly. Check out Leisure Acres Campground in Cleveland or Track Rock Campground in Blairsville. Both are close to the falls.
Nice intro Joan. Vogel State Park reminds me a lot of Hungry Mother State Park in Marion Virginia (southwest). Their campgrounds are not as spacious but the do have a nice one just outside of the park gates. It is run by the park. There sure is a lot of beauty in North Georgia.
glad i found this video. we’ll be here late December 2020. glad to see the dually can make it down the road to Helton Creek Falls. that means my dually can make it too.
Thanks Jerry and Joan. I’m curious if you’ve seen any “bent trees” during your travels. Native Americans made them as pointers to valuable natural resources. It might be a good topic for future videos. Thanks for all you do and safe travels!
Search...... Knights of the golden circle. Was a group of southerners that hid gold and fire arms to restart the civil war. I have a book on them and it talks about bent trees marking clues to treasure. Happy camping
What an amazing state park. How nice and tranquil it is. I’m headed to Yosemite next week and I’m sure it will be packed like sardines. Thanks for sharing as always. Looking forward to visiting one day.
Thanks Juan. Joan and I went to Yosemite during the Spring thaw on a work trip a few years ago. The waterfall next to El Capitan was stunning. Have fun!
we are heading that way soon, what's the best places for families. What do you recommend we do or go in the short 4 days we are there, Ps we are taking our RV see my video too on the RV we just got!
You didn't mention the kids ages. Few suggestions for kids of all ages. If you have a short camper, Vogel is great. Larger campers Leisure Acres in Cleveland. Helen - tubing is a blast. Also the sky bridge and zip lines are fun. Helen also has a nice water park. Dahlonega - Consolidated mine tour then pan for gold. If the kids aren't to small, try Tallulah Gorge. Check out this coming Saturdays video.
All of the activities mentioned above would be perfect for that age group. One exception, the Gorge is quite strenuous with 1,000 steps down and 1,000 back up. It's a great adventure for a morning or afternoon. Here's our trek th-cam.com/video/oi9yh1EI__E/w-d-xo.html
Leisure Acres Campground in Cleveland, GA. We like this area if we plan to spend most of our time on the south side of the mountain around Dahlonega and Helen.
Hi Judy. If it's not a holiday week, usually a couple of weeks in advance. We've even found spots days before. But popular holidays, that's a different story. We'll try 5 to 6 months just to make sure we get a nice spot.
Hey Jerry... here’s an idea. Maybe you could take a shot of a map to show where these are located and show that at the beginning or end of the video. That would actually be great on any camp ground video you do. As always we enjoy your work! JR
I’ll do it. Maybe even throw in a GPS coordinate here and there. One thing we have been doing is keeping OUR TRAVELS map updated on our web site at www.ilovervlife.com. Full Google interaction for directions and most have links to our TH-cam videos.
I’ll admit, we have a couple cans of boiled peanuts in the pantry in case of an emergency 😏. These we taken from a giant pot in the back of the side road market. Shame on me for not showing everyone.
I disagree. We scouted the sites for a future trip. It was during the week so many sites were empty which we walked. Very few were level enough not to at least use most of your hydraulic leveling capability, just like the class A on your video. That being said because the sites are so small the RVs occupying them are small enough to position themselves on a somewhat level spot on the site. Not so much for larger RVs which occupy most of the site. Beautiful park for smaller RVs 👍
Thanks for sharing; beautiful nature.
So glad we could share.
We love waterfalls 👍😀
There truly are some incredible wayerfalls in Northern Georgia!
There are quite a few. More if you don't mind a little day hiking.
Nice, we love the water falls
Thanks Tim.
Come to the North Georgia mountains. There's plenty of waterfalls

Thanks you. Have a great time at Vogel. Joan
Love those peanuts! My father in law used to call them Hairless Goobers. He introduced me to them.
They were yummy! Joan
@@iLoveRVlife he would send us raw ones from back there so we could boil them here in Ca

Chad I’ll add that on my list. That will add so more fun to the hike.

hoping you would visit and show Amicola Falls beginning of the Appalachian trail near Dolonega.
We’ve been there many times. It’s been a while. We’ll be back soon. Think it’s time to get the Amicola in a video.
Thank you for video. You are giving us so many places we need to visit.
Glad we can share.
Joan ,Awesome job. Enjoy you Both. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Thomas. Joan
YAY Joan!! At our house we can now say "Joan said ............" lol
Thank you Kit. We had fun sharing our waterfalls. Joan

Thanks for taking us along! And, Joan, loved your intro :)
Thank you Jody. We had so much fun and glad you enjoyed the sites. Joan
We've camped at most of the state parks in north ga. If there is another state with parks as pretty, i can't wait to find it.
They are nice.
Thank you, I had no idea there were so many falls near Blairsville.
Those are the easiest access. Near Clayton there’s Talulah Gorge and Panther Creek Falls. But fun hikes and great falls.

Nice little campground. May have to check that out. Just made reservations at smoky mountain campground for th 12 thru the 19 of oct.
Thanks John. Have fun in Deep Creek.
Where did you all camp for this video?
Leisure Acres Campground in Cleveland, GA. We like this area if we plan to spend most of our time on the south side of the mountain around Dahlonega and Helen.
How far in advance do you make reservations at these parks?

"Some kind of pretty" thanks Jerry and this western boy loves boiled peanuts to only problem is that unless I do my own they are canned.
I’ll admit, we have a couple cans of boiled peanuts in the pantry in case of an emergency 😏. These we taken from a giant pot in the back of the side road market. Shame on me for not showing everyone.
Beautiful but anything over 30’ is tight, tight, tight. Sites are not very level for the most part.
Agree. Tough for the bigger rigs. Most sites were level. The camera isn’t always friendly and little reference. We saw very few leveling blocks used.

Many thanks to Joan for opening the video with lots of views of the park and thanks to Jerry for loving RV life and sharing their journey
Thanks Loda. We had so much fun searching for waterfalls. So glad we can share.
