The way these so-called "cheaper" batteries are increasing in price just because of low-temp cutoffs (and other gimmicks), has pushed me even closer to SOK. It's the last battery I'll buy so the one-time premium is no big deal given their build quality, proven warranty and reliability.

Maybe it's much more now, but hopefully that premium will drop drastically as production scale for those parts ramps and the R&D costs are recouped.
They seem to have addressed the low temp cutoff issue with every budget battery on the market. Bravo. But they are charging more for that when all the batteries in the same category were dropping the prices. Don't like that. They're still half the price of the Battleborn. But it was nice to see the market being less greedy and planning to make money in volume sales instead of knocking the customer over the head to get just 1 kWh!

Ok now how the heck does this work when you wire batteries in series? Manuel says you can do it, but then what happens when one of the two batteries reaches capacity? It disconnects, right? So then if any reaches capacity, it disconnects and that disconnects all the other batteries charging as well, right? And so then when discharging, so if any battery gets too low it also disconnects. hard to imagine how this works with only the positive and negative terminals being the "interface" for the battery. Am I overthinking this?
A shame the price difference between heated and non-heated is quite a bit. Is it really that much more expensive to make a battery heated? I believe heated pads aren't that expensive. Yes it does; however, that's a safety feature not intended to be used for daily charging/discharging control. You still need to use a proper LiFePO4 charger that has (or can be programmed) with LiFePO4 voltage settings.

Hello, do you have any idea how you can monitor the voltage of this battery? It has simple BMS from jbd and I don't know what voltmeter to look for it. I will use it on an electric boat motor.
I have a 2003 gas club car ds, i am seriously considering buying a lithium battery for it, getting rid of the lead acid battery, what do you recommond for my golf cart.
I have a 12v 50lb trolling motor. I'm in MI so I'm not fishing under 50 degrees and I stop in the fall at about the same temp. Do I need all the fancy stuff ? Also how do you tell how much charge is left in the battery ?

Serious question and need an honest opinion. This is pretty urgent and time sensitive. Are these just as good as Battleborn and the other Lithium-Ion Sulfate batteries out there that seems to get popularity based on the name? We live up north and I know 10000% I'm going vanlife. My daughter, husband, and my grandchild literally just moved into there 20 yr old motor home and live in the north part of WI. They are going to end up way out in the country and park it on some land (they rented a spot) on this guy's land. Absolutely no water and no shore power. They went and got a Mr. Heater 10,000 btu propane heater and a 100 lb bottle. Of course they saud the floor is cold cold and I told them they need to get heat tape and get it on all the pipes and keep it at least to a temperature in there or they have to winterize it but then they can't use water, showering, etc. I've been telling my daughter to buy solar and we can build it ourselves. The huge thing is the batteries. It scares me because these battleborns are $700+ for just a 100 ah (ridiculous) and its discouraging wondering how any of us can do off grid. Are these Li Time batteries just as good as the others even though these are half the price? I just want an honest answer. I told her she needs a minimum of 400 ah and she can go higher as she goes - which she'll keep adding more solar and upgrade the control charger on the list. They have a 120V furnace and im thinking why not just run that to the inverter? I'm sure it will heat the motor home better and just might be more cost affective. I also told her they need to close in the bottom around the sides on the outside of the motor home and insulate it to help it not be so cold under the motor home to help with pipes and the cold floors. I would very much appreciate your help! Please! Ty
As I found out on Black Friday 2022 the company doesn't recommend their batteries for golf carts as the BMS can't handle the stress over time. The new Li Time doesn't recommend the battery for electric vehicles too even though they have a new BMS.
Correct, because those type of loads typically have a high start/inrush draw on the battery. I would say that's the case for most of the batteries I've been reviewing unless they have a super beefy BMS.
Bummer the non-smart version doesn't have low temp charging protection/cutoff. Still waiting for one of these slightly more established 'brands' to produce $300/kWh with reliable low temp protection and quality cells.

How can you tell if low charge temp working on lithium ion battery without tearing it all apart like you do? I have 3 12v batteries that claim to have protection but I would like to know for sure it is working.
Just like any metal welding, you cannot remove a weld without cutting. I don't recommend doing it as it's difficult to reconnect aluminum as you can't solder to it and most of us (none of us) have access to a laser welder.
It’s not a reliable company, the company not responsible for missing packages. The FedEx made a mistake delivered my packages to wrong address, and li time us doesn’t want to refund my money. Already deal with them almost a month, now I have to do dispute on my credit card charges. It’s been a terrible experience.
Can you use this battery to charge an Ecoflow? Using XT60 Conncter Cable with DC 12V Battery Alligator Clips? Would be a great live extender! Perhaps you can make a video about this?
I charge ecoflow with these batteries through an xt60, the maximum power the ecoflow accepts is 100 watts, or 200 if charging through a 12-24 volt converter.
After watching your video, I purchased 3 to hook up in series for my 36 volt trolling motor Can you tell me if the Minn Kota charger; MK-460PCL will work to charge all 3 while hooked up in series?
I've not heard of that charger before; however, I looked up the specs and see it's rated for 12/24/36/48V and is rated for LiFePO4 - so yes, it should work fine. Those mulit-bank chargers that handle equalization are pretty nice - I need to grab me a few for some videos.
I’m considering buying one to run my fish finder and trolling motor on my kayak. Does anyone in the comments have any experience using this battery for similar applications?
On the fence for a trolling battery!Either going with a li time or a epoch and still can't decide if I'm going with a 24volt battery or 2 12volt any suggestions would help on both the choice of the li time or epoch and a 12 or 24 volt thanks in advance!
@snowww816 I haven't purchased either yet but I believe definitely a epoch I've heard alot about them now from several people I know and there all super pleased with a epoch so I'm probably going that route for certain !
I like to watch your reviews, thanks. One correction as for FETs. Charge and discharge FETs are located on both PCB sides! Charge controlling FETs always go to external negative terminal (output -) while discharge controlling FETs go to battery negative terminal. If dedicated shunt resistors are present (which is true for all the BMS except of cheap low-amps rated ones), they are always on Discharge FETs side. Charge and discharge FETs are always located in opposite orientation each other, having Drain (massive body plate) pins joined together. What is interesting for this BMS a dedicated group of 4 FETs on one side only, connected by 2 1Ohm resistors is series. I guess they are dedicated to soft connect-disconnect a fraction of second sooner/later (or pre-charge purposes) to decrease peak current spikes in such scenarios, which has a risk of kich-back current which can destroy main FETs rows. Keep going!
Does not look like there is any space between the cells. Other brands using prismatic cells have better design spacing. Interesting with the name change, Li Time sounds straight out of China.
Shouldn't 'batrium' be pronounced more like 'bat'-rium (like a baseball bat) and not 'bait'-rium (like fish bait), because it's the first three letters of 'battery'?
Chinese Battery companies marketing departments need an American in the mix, the name Li Time doesn't inspire confidence, either does Redodo..They make good batteries, at a great price..But the names are literally undermining the product...If you don't speak English, I guess you don't understand...

How can you tell if low charge temp working on lithium ion battery without tearing it all apart like you do? I have 3 12v batteries that claim to have protection but I would like to know for sure it is working.
You could place the battery in a freezer for 24hrs then try connecting a charger and see if it starts charging.
How can you remove those busbars being laser welded. Any suggestions?
Just like any metal welding, you cannot remove a weld without cutting. I don't recommend doing it as it's difficult to reconnect aluminum as you can't solder to it and most of us (none of us) have access to a laser welder.
I got this one without smart edition. It will stop when lifting my dump trailer. Will not lift over a few feet and trips. Won't do anything
You're probably overloading the BMS. Do you know how many amps your lift is rated for?
With new company name, came new premium prices
Very professional review, awesome
After watching your video, I purchased 3 to hook up in series for my 36 volt trolling motor
Can you tell me if the Minn Kota charger; MK-460PCL will work to charge all 3 while hooked up in series?
Sorry, I bought the regular 100ah, not the smart batteries
Question still remains about the charger
I've not heard of that charger before; however, I looked up the specs and see it's rated for 12/24/36/48V and is rated for LiFePO4 - so yes, it should work fine. Those mulit-bank chargers that handle equalization are pretty nice - I need to grab me a few for some videos.
Thank you!
What did you decide to get?
@snowww816 I haven't purchased either yet but I believe definitely a epoch I've heard alot about them now from several people I know and there all super pleased with a epoch so I'm probably going that route for certain
!
@snowww816 and going with a 24volt single due to the weight and getting a single charger instead of two 12volt single battery chargers!
@davidfarley6666 those are high $ I suppose oftentimes you get what you pay for.
Great review, thanks
Keep going!
What BMS you recommend for my ampere Time 200 ah plus I have the battery case open so I'm ready to change out the BMS
Yes akb🔋 ⚡🔌💡👍
Another stellar review.
4:50 This is crap. There are no isolating plates BETWEEN the cells! Happy shortcutting after some vibrations! 😱
Do you ever blink ?
No, I ran out of blinker fluid
@@LithiumSolar 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧 good comeback!
Great Video.
Nice video.
Does not look like there is any space between the cells. Other brands using prismatic cells have better design spacing. Interesting with the name change, Li Time sounds straight out of China.
they have a 400ah battery, that be nice to get.
👍👍👍
Wow , shame the cells are touching each other . Way overpriced anyway . Name change doesn't instill confidence either .
Nice
Picking em up 230 now lol
Shouldn't 'batrium' be pronounced more like 'bat'-rium (like a baseball bat) and not 'bait'-rium (like fish bait), because it's the first three letters of 'battery'?
I don't like bats. They scare me and bite your neck like a vampire. BAIT-rium.
@@LithiumSolar That's sensible 😀
Say away from liTime as service is nonexistent
Can you share what happened?
No support
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Change in business name is usually a red flag
Can you please explain why you think this?
Chinese Battery companies marketing departments need an American in the mix, the name Li Time doesn't inspire confidence, either does Redodo..They make good batteries, at a great price..But the names are literally undermining the product...If you don't speak English, I guess you don't understand...
What is your take on the global environmental impact of lithium???
Will power matter if we destroy the earth...
You like a machine
You don't read Chinese?
No, do you?
@@LithiumSolar not unless i run it through google translate
Pls blink for gods sake. Another youtuber being used to sell products for a Chinese company/
Li Time sounds like a Biden Press Conference
LOL!!
I used Google translate to get the writing on the li time BMS here it is
( Li Time

I'm aware of Google translate, but have no clue how to type the characters into the translate page LOL. I assume you have some way of taking a picture or OCR or something.
@@LithiumSolar yes translate has a camera function and does it by picture it's a pretty cool feature I discovered recently myself
exactly right
