- This video will explain to you step by step how to get the Grandpa Slime the S rank synthesis monster combining a Gem Slime and Emperor Slime. This monster is easier at middle echelon but you can make a lot of progress before and monsters in the chain are also strong.
gamewith.jp/monsters3/428084 - This is the Japanese guide you can use as well to follow along.
any of the grandparents can be fused to any other grandparent.
What I love about synthesizing these S ranks early, is getting a slew of excellent monsters to work with along the way.
That comma doesn't belong there. Xoxo
@@ThatOldIcedTea Thank you for adding nothing of value.
@@hawkalypse7329 you don't think forming a proper sentence is valuable? Maybe English isn't their first language and they would benefit from knowing how to not look stupid to an employer.
@@ThatOldIcedTea Calm down. It's a TH-cam comment section about collecting monsters, not a college essay. You're not helping or educating anyone by being a prick. I won't be continuing this with you, come back when you have something that contributes to synthesizing this sweet ass Slime.
@ThatOldIcedTea imagine correcting someone's grammar and then typing xoxo. What a loser.
Instead of killing it after it gets angered you can save before the battle and simply retry it. The spawns will be the same even in mole hole.
Ive been playing dqm games for the past 10 years and one of my favorite memories is going and getting the dqmj2 book when i was in middle school. Idk y but this reminds me of when i would read off parts of the book to my friend when we all played together. Really enjoying the content, keep up the great work!
Mole Hole really comes in clutch
Sometimes you might have other materials to make the same monsters so check your reverse synthesis often
Love your videos, they are very helpful. If I can offer one criticism, it's that you tend to repeat yourself. I know that it's intentional and that you are trying to drive home a point, but honestly, if people don't understand something, they can always rewatch the part of the video where you first mentioned the point.
Kinda weird that the Rating for the Grandpa Slime is worse than the material monsters it is synthesized from.
Thats because grandpa slime is pretty shit.
The emperor slime is also not very good.
Slionheart and Gem Slime are better than their "further" fusions.
I love that every monster is a pun
Slionheart, lion heart and slime
Magmalice, magma and malice
What are the best talents to have for grandpa?
I might of not paid enough attention but after watching the video I am lost with what emperor slime was being used for
thank you so very much!!! I was able to get Emperor slime on my own after a full day of trial and error. I couldnt figure out Gem slime was what i needed to synth with and didnt know how to make a Gem slime. You are awesome.
question if you know.. Gem slime stats seem like they will be better than Grampa... have you compared the 2 at all?
Gem Slime is where you stop if you want viability in both post game and competitive pvp. This is because gem slime's lv1 trait which cuts all damage received to 1/3, in exchange for making magic cost double the mp. Also, yes in this case it's stats are actually better, but keep in mind that the number of stars only tells you how fast a stat is growing, not the actual hard cap. Every monster has it's own hard caps for any given stat and sometimes these can be VERY different from what you might think by just looking at the stars.

Please more guides, preferably from the Dragon Family. But do whats best and easiest for you. Love the dedication
Lumbering Lizard + Metal Slime = Metal Dragon (Gold border D Rank Monster)
Metal Dragon + Balhib (4 way fusion from this video) = Mechan-o'-Wyrm (Gold border A Rank Defense/Healer Dragon)
Your way is far to difficult as you can get most of them monsters in the game which is a lot easier to do.
You know how to synth a Mean Spirit taking me ages LOL
Still livid mole hole is paid dlc.
If u kill a metal kill slime in the mole hole does it give you a ton of exp?
Nah just like 200
You have never not said mowhole in these
Do you have one for dragons planned?
When it comes to grandfathering.. if I have all the monsters needed for the 4 monter fusion.. can I skip all the below steps?
Yep.
I having trouble with making a A rank dragon and I tried every combination I could think of by the way really love your videos on s rank monsters I watched them both twice
I am actually about to make a video on a SUPER easy A rank dragon that is also one of the best attackers.
I realized that in the overview of the monster in the monsterpedia on second page for first section there is a suggested combination and that page shows what the monsters drop also
What is this moho you talking about
This really wasn't bad. wouldn't have taken any time at all if I had just combined at 10 immediately instead I aimed for level 20~25 before doing so. Having just gained the crystal from the knight bro.
Got both S Rank thanks to your videos! Cant wait to synth them all!
Finally made him
Kinda disappointed though
He feels to slow to be of use compared to the mats needed
Gem slime however is goats
What can grandpa slime be made into?
Pretty much nearly every Boss monster
Thx so much =)
Not really useful for pvp but I made him because he looks cool
Is there an X rank slime?
No, the Slime family just goes to S-rank in this game. Trode's not in this game (yet, maybe they'll add DLC to this game like modern Pokémon instead of going Pro or SP like the 3DS titles), so Grandpa Slime is pretty much the highest tiered Slime in the game as it's the only S-rank Slime.
The X-ranks in this game are as follows (prior to any DLC additions):
Dragons:
1) Xenlon
2) Dragovian Lord
Bosses:
1) Estark (the classic one that we know and love)
2) The Almighty
3) Zoma
4) Nokturnus
5) Ramia / Empyrea / Lamia / etc. (the DQ3 design with the white feathers, not the purple design from DQ8)
Can you do a video for the best bird monster? I want to make a Phoenix
You sound like coffeezilla and I'm here for it
GOT MY SUB ! Pls do more im looking forward :D !
He worth using over Slionheart?
As a healer? Absolutely not. You should go with gem slime for that. Double MP cost is not as bad as it seems on paper. Slionheart is still better as a healer than grandpa, because it has more hp and defense. Also health professional always tops higher wisdom stats. The boost is so high, you'd need insane differences in wisdom for the raw stat to come out on top when it comes to numbers.
I remember Grandpa Slime is a difficult monster to obtain, but the best slime possible. I just want to know of a broken team for pvp and pve. I assume its colasmos and nightclubber
*was the best slime
What? who is better?@@Brando-wc8fz
@@SadlySorrowful Gem Slime is top slime, as well as top healer in general, despite it's double mp cost. Slashing all damage received by 66% is massive. Gem also acts way faster and has higher hardcaps except for wisdom.
In top tier pvp gem slime is almost always there because having a healer that can soak up multiple entire rounds of damage before just meditating to full is kinda op. In contrast, grandpa is almost never played because every time it shows up, it just gets bursted down immediately. It's just too squishy. In competitive play you usually just use it to get your casters to wisdom cap faster by just syncing with grandpa several times in a row.
Would u say gem slime is better than grandpa? Tankier and could be a healer
Yes
Gem slime is nuts
It should honestly be the S rank
@@arcnova It seems like some of the A-rank monsters in this game are as good as the S-rank and X-rank monsters. Krystalinda is considered one of THE main meta monsters in this game with her absurd ice powers, and she's also only an A-rank.
I think Damselfly, a very low ranking monster, is also considered a meta monster due to some of its abilities. I'd say variety is useful for the metagame, however.
However at the same time those Yellow Gem slimes likely drop the MOST gold IN game if you can actually fight them.
Wait so if I fight it in the mole hole will it drop a lot more?
No in order to get like 3000+ Gold PER Gem slime kill you have to kill them NORMALLY as in a NON DLC area IF that's even possible.
Would it be good to keep his "Sage" skill or replace it with perfect speller?
from my experience, not really, it has high wisdom sure but everytime I use the sage skill to debuff it misses most of the time so I just kept it as my tradional mage with perfect speller/Castslasher/and Auto-Cadabra. He get MP reduction + MP regen so he can keep spamming those powerful spells!
@leongamingchannel6142 Alright, good to know. I will be doing that, thanks ❤️
@@oswaldthedarkknight your welcome! XD
bro thank you
Is there an X rank slime?
Currently, no. S-rank is the highest for the Slime family. With DLC being a possibility (thanks to the McDonald's promotion going on), maybe they'll add Canzar from Joker 2 and promote him or add Trode again later down the road. So yeah, Grandpa Slime is considered the highest tiered Slime as it's the only S-rank Slime in a game where only 7 X-rank monsters exist (2 dragons and 5 bosses).
Those X-rank monsters are as follows:
Dragons:
1) Xenlon (1st DQ3 super boss in the remakes)
2) Dragovian Lord (DQ8 super boss)
Bosses:
1) Estark (the classic one that was a major boss in DQ4 while having his appearance be based on his DQ5 super boss appearance)
2) The Almighty (DQ7 super boss)
3) Zoma (DQ3 final boss)
4) Nokturnus (DQ6 super boss)
5) Ramia / Empyrea / Lamia (DQ3 flying mode of transportation)
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 Thanks! I've been using Metal Kid's site and beat the game already. Also got Almighty. Hopefully they add more monsters and more stuff to do, I wanted a Metal Goddess
How are you supposed to do this it be nice to actually show how to do this. I can’t re-recruit my metal slim I have the I hate to waist my beastie bites. I Heard you can’t use meat on the metal slims. And the catch rate is like next to nothing is it just down to luck?
Alternatively, you could save scum in front of a metal slime in the Mole Hole after getting the first one from the mini-metal dealer. So, a theoretical step-by-step process that you can do to get more Metal Slimes (assuming you have the Mole Hole DLC [wished it was in the base game like in the prior entries as it's dumb that they stripped out a feature just to sell it to you again for an extra $10]) is the following:
1) Get the 10 mini-medals.
2) Get your first Metal Slime from the Mauloseum mini-metal dealer.
3) Go to the Mole Hole's E rank level.
4) Find the Metal Slime. If he's not there, exit and go back to step 3.
5) Turn off auto-save.
6) Save your game.
7) Fight the Metal Slime.
8) Attempt to scout them while using Beastie Bites. If successful, save your game, leave the Mole Hole with your 2nd Metal Slime, and skip the rest of these steps.
9) If the Metal Slime gets angry, defeat them in battle. If they join you after the fight, save your game, leave the Mole Hole with your 2nd Metal Slime, and skip the rest of these steps.
10) If the Metal Slime doesn't join, reload your save file and jump back to step 7.
I've been super lucky with beastie bites in the Mole Hole DLC as every time I used them at least once against a monster in the Mole Hole, they joined my party after I KO'd them after they got angry at me for my failed Show of Force attempts. It's possible that I'm extremely lucky, but it's also possible that Beastie Bites guarantee monsters after KOing them in the Mole Hole (they weren't guaranteed in the base game for me, but they worked 100% of the time for me in Mole Hole, so it's either programming to sell DLC or I got super lucky so far). In either case, with save scumming in the Mole Hole, you can totally just retry over and over again until you get the Metal Slime.
I forget if save scumming works on the world map. If it does, then you can just go to where the Metal Slimes spawn at for Step 3 and do the rest of the list from there (thus not requiring any DLC whatsoever).
As for Beastie Bites, they become totally purchasable late in the game for 1,500G each. As such, they're totally expendable for late-game players as you can buy a bunch more later down the road. You can also get the Treasure Trunk DLC if you're impatient and/or want an easy way to get free items periodically (one of the later rewards is 3x Beastie Bites, and the rewards cycle after completing the list), but everything in that DLC (besides the extra outfit) is obtainable in the base game without too much trouble. As such, Treasure Trunk ain't necessary to grab whatsoever (even though it's convenient).
Just finish making GS.
Brings back the gud ol days on my gba cobis journey❤. 20yrs pass, and im back playing DQmonster🥰🥰🥰thank u👍
Next "roboster 2"
What is MOHO?
Mole hole. DLC
slionheart and gem slime just make either a slionheart or a gem slime
Where do I hand in the mini medals to unlock metal slimes? I have 13 atm and want another s rank very badly
The 2nd colloseum you visit in the game.
