Love that song raunchy and that sax players great used to listen to his music all the time as a teenager growing up those days we had good music to dance too old rock and roll music it was great they use that using a lot of different commercials and different shows now you hear it in the background those were the days when we were growing up everybody else out there that grew up in that time will remember it
Always love Duane Eddy he is a true musician. And he plays beautiful music. Rebel Rouser is one of my favorites!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!!! Love it !!!❤❤
The guy in the leather pants in Marty Stuart. It's his show. He is the former son in law of Johnny Cash and was in Cash's band in the early 80s. He was also in the Lester Flatt band, starting when he was about 13 I think, playing the mandolin. He has been a professional musician since he was 10.
Duane Eddy was and is the epitome of "cool". I idolized him for decades. Totally underrated. Recorded all those fabulous hits on Jaimie Records on an original '57 (?) Gretsch G6120 but later got his beautiful signature Guild DE500 then a Gibson signature model which wasn't around very long (still commands a hefty price in the vintage guitar market though). Finally Gretsch came up with it's own signature model which is a dead ringer for Duane's original orange guitar. To my knowledge no one ever replicated his modified Magnatone amp that he recorded with in Phoenix. That would be an interesting project for some entrepreneurial amp builder !!
doesthepuzzleI believe that. its definitely simple enough to play and considering Harrison was never that technical of a guitar player it makes perfect sense.
And for all the Duane Eddy fans, it was also Bill Justis who wrote the tune and had the first hit with it. But Duane and the boys did a nice cover here. 2-14-18
George Harrison also played Duane Eddy's Movin 'N' Groovin, but this song was not officially recorded. Greetings. th-cam.com/video/JFn0B_R7Ig8/w-d-xo.html *MOVIN' N' GROOVIN'* Guitar Version by *Duane Eddy*
It's the same in all Eddy's performances......He backs up the sax when it takes the melody......It don't matter. Other people do Duane Eddy's music but the original sound will always belong to Mr. Eddy.
This is the tune that George Harrison , as a 17 year old kid....played on the top deck of a Liverpool bus - 1959.... a skeptical John Lennon ...with Paul saying ...go on George - " give him Raunchy"......and the rest is .....HISTORY !!.. George did it well...John apparently said...." You're IN , mate " !! Mind you - its A very simple tune - my cat could probably do it too !!. OOppss !!!
Duane Eddy, a pioneering guitar hero who died earlier this week at age 86. Eddy passed away of cancer Tuesday at the Williamson Health hospital in Franklin, Tennessee, according to his wife, Deed Abbate.
Duane Eddy's sax player for years was Steve Douglas. See this video, w w w . th-cam.com/video/PvnJ6CkiDz8/w-d-xo.html Duane introduces Steve, then with him for 25 years. It's the same guy, both just a little older here with Marty Stuart.
Duane is playing with Robert Plant and Allison Krauss on their new album at 83 years old. Fantastic!
Once upon a time in the last century there were real musicians, real singers, and really great entertainment....
too bad, nothing for quite awhile
There is still very talented artists currently around, just not mainstream.
It's the Beatles.
@@Solomonjamesdavecastro Beatles got it from others. Big Beatles fan here, but give credit where due. Bill Justis and Sidney Manker wrote that. The Beatles caught a ride on that one very early on.
Another excellent song, Raunchy with Duane Eddy, the best guitarist. The Sax is excellent too !!!
The sax player is probably Steve Douglas, Duane's long time partner.
..Duane Eddy is a genius, with four notes he creates great music!
Most musicians today play a thousand notes and just make noise.
fineartist It’s phrasing and letting notes ring.

Thought this was by bill justis
Amen, bro!!
How did I miss the news of Duane Eddy! Been listening to him since I could understand music. My dad has a whole collection of Duane Eddy. 😢
My Dad had a few Duane Eddy LPs. BRAVO! Great on the Sax!!!!!!!!
God bless Duane. You're one of the Immortals.
Come on, this artist is still kicking ass, we need you! This music gave you a hard on.
Those Gibsons never could compare with the terrific Guild Duane Eddy models .....now those guitars rocked!
his Gretsch is best..
@@pb12661 I too think the Gretsch sounded better.

Hello Marjorie, How are you doing?
King of TWANG. You have joined heaven’s choir, but your immortal twang will forever twang on earth.🤠🤠🤠
The sax player steals the show on this one.
+GereDJ2 I agree
Duane eddy and Ricky sags
Duane Eddy! He's Sax and Guitar.... I'd be disappointed otherwise!
Yes I agree
Always love Duane Eddy he is a true musician. And he plays beautiful music. Rebel Rouser is one of my favorites!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!!! Love it !!!❤❤
This shit gives me chills. Such clean playing. Amazing
MR Duane Eddy - no - MR TWANG - with his unique sound - awesome!

And Duane was married to Jessie Colter aka mrs Waylon Jennings in the late 60s.
A catchy riff that's easy and fun to play...
That riff thread simple but catchy.
Duane Eddy plays any song good including this one. Sad to hear of his passing
As much as I love Duane Eddy, I'll take the Bill Justis version any day! Just can't beat it! 😊
Justice wrote it & I think it's the best version. I bought the 45 in '57, still got it.

graham bull Love seeing the older stars both from the near past & distant past. Nothing wrong in remembering your roots
Hope I can get tickets when he comes to Phoenixville next year
Duane Eddy, perfeccionista, único no estilo. maneco - Brasil.
The Beatles wanted George Harrison because he could play Raunchy just like Duane Eddy on the record.
doesthepuzzleI believe that. its definitely simple enough to play and considering Harrison was never that technical of a guitar player it makes perfect sense.
It was the Bill Justis version that charted in England
matooley are you out of your mind? have you listened to his solos? get a clue

They both put their picks in their mouths to shake hands---priceless...
Still think after all these years, Jim Horn was the best sax player with Duane.
Someone who knows of what he speaks.
@@rogerbriggs9802 Jim was, hands down, one of the best side-men in the business! google him, you'll see.
I liked all these songs, good guitar.
I think it was Bill Justice and his band who come out with it first
Love your songs R.I.P Duane Eddy
Marty put in his good licks there.. go Marty

Marty Stewart kicks brass! Duane Eddy kicked it a long time ago, for sure.
Any list of great guitarists must include Duane Eddy as well as ,MK and EC
Awesome 👍😎👍 🎸👍
real talent
Back to about 1958. Good one.
twang and sax , just enjoy
Marty looks like he's having a great time here
The hit came from Bill Justice.
I learned how to pick just by watching him. When I was 15 16 years old and have not Quit yet

j'adore CE saxophone
CANT COME CLOSE TO BILL JUSTIS!!! BOSTON BOB.
19 Who don't realise the influence that Duane Eddy had on younger generations of guitarists.
Marty Stuart had a TV show? Was it on a cable access channel in Nashville?
Link Wray was a guitar player. His classic was the song "Rumble" . He passed away in 2005. Don't think the sax player was Link Wray.
The guy blows a Great Sax!
Jim Horn... none better google him...
The Twang is the Thang...

My guess is maybe 80 -82. Maybe close

Phill Robinson Ill belive it when they have a snow like this!
wow they should be stars by now
Who is the sax player??????
Couldn’t agree with you less
That Gibson just doesn't cut it like a Gretsch.
47 twangs don't mean a thang.
is it me or does this sound Slower than the origional version
We're ALL slower as the years pass. Jeeze, I haven't heard this in years. Brings back such great memories.
excelent
His one rock n' roll hit. He didn't go far on that side of the charts and hence went Nashville. Good guitarist nonetheless.
