Very nice review, i also have all three ZOHD's and my fav is the dart with the Orbit wing coming in close 2nd, i removed the battery strap and use a 2200 4s battery as far back as it will go against the spar and a little cutting of the top cover, so far its been too cold and i have given up with freezing fingers before the battery has given out, performance on 4s is outstanding. My apologies to Lee if I've missed it in the video but those complaining that their stabilizer doesn't work might need to know that the stabilization DOES NOT kick in till you rev up the motor for the first time. Fell into the same trap on my Orbit Neon.
Hello Painless, quick, complete and painless we learned all about Orbit. :-) Where do you place the single JST pins throttle, rudder, mode on your Frsky X8R? Do you have 3 receiver pins for one channel within your X8 or only one? When you have 3 pins do you fix the single JST on Plus, Minus, Neutral / up, down, middle? I bought PNP with AIO preinstalled cam and Vtx and it comes PNP without. Always the discussion ... There should be a 5,8 gHz Vtx under the inner plate. Do you find something like that? Can one use it? Is there a connection? Thanks a lot!
The single wires plug into the signal pins of those respective outputs on the receiver. Please see the close-ups of the wiring in the video for more information. Best of luck!
@@Painless360Thanks a lot, Painless! Little question en passant: which one is the signal pin? X8R down, I found it, I haven't worked with single wires up to now. Which other RX for the Taranis X9D plus do you recommend?
Dear Sir, i was wondering if you can help me out on the wiring schematic if using FRsky X6R receiver on this ZOHD Orbit? (any additional component/components needed?)
@@Painless360, that is a really helpful info there. So my brief understanding for a wing is no flight controller is needed & if we use receiver like Frsky X6R/ X8R, it does have stabilization option if we choose to? correct?
Lee. We just bought one of these and I've never connected a receiver to this type of setup. I have no idea what I'm doing with these single wires that need to be plugged into the receiver. Any tips would be appreciated. Our receiver is the Frsky RX4R. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day. Update- Been working on this for an hour and have tried about every combination and still can't get things correct. Our radios and planes are set up as Throttle, Aileron, Elevator and Rudder.. i'm wondering if this is a conflict. Also. I'm not sure if I'm missing it in the limited directions, but how do I set up a switch for the 3 flight modes?
I ended up using PWM connections as shown at 8:02. Adding an extra swtich isn't too tricky. It's all covered in my OpenTX mix school playlist. Google something like 'adding switch opentx painless360' to find my video on it. Best of luck
