      Hey brother please do a video on scammers. There's ppl doing scams in your name with your pics on TH-cam and telegram. There are other subs asking also that have been approached by the scammers. Please . Some one not having delt with scammers before will fall for it . A short video is all we are asking for. Scammers need to be stopped. I messaged you on messanger on Facebook. With pics . Oh yah the other scammer I delt with was someone acting like Dave mustain. I said send me a pic if it's you and I got a pic of Tom Hanks. Hahah .

Recently I decided I wanted to try the acoustic, and fingerpicking specifically. Since I rarely sleep more thsn a couple hours, I starting practicing a couple weeks ago 3 hours a night when everyone's sleeping. I got to level I thought I'd never reach after only a couple weeks. I am waking up at 5:30 and going to bed at 22:00, and I found that especially after quitting alcohol 2 years ago, my mind sometimes goes on to have the life of its own when I want to sleep, especially when I'm on a work trip that is across multiple time zones. My company sponsors a sleep/meditation app that I don't want to mention the name of coz might be perceived as an ad but it has LeBron James and Optimus Prime telling you sleep stories. I never finish a sleep story. Also, I will be in Wienna in September, can I see you gigging somewhere?

    This isn't exactly the type of music I want to learn or play, but that doesn't mean it's not impressive or that I wouldn't benefit from learning this. Recently (after starting to watch your videos) I've been feeling like I'm worse than I felt before. Mainly because you point out the mistakes that I see myself doing. So currently I'm working on playing easier lines cleaner and faster.

    • @raineparlby9806
      @raineparlby9806 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm not exactly a metal guitarist either, but I find that Bernth's advice an exercises really help your overall technique, which can then translate to any genre. I also remember feeling like I was playing worse when I first started watching the videos: I think because Bernth really puts technique under the microscope and makes you look at the way you play, it takes a while to digest and adjust. For example, for a while no way I held the pick felt right! But once I was able to adjust I could really start to see the benefits. Something like thinking about escape angles will obviously make you need to play slower at first to think about it, but once you can build back up to your normal speed it will be so much cleaner.

    hi bernth, im sturggling with this question for a lot of years now: when im playing fast notes in the "upper" area of the neck (fret 1-8 or so) i have to place my hand parallel to the fretboard (so the area between thumb and indexfinger does not touch the neck). only by doing so i have enough stretch to reach all notes. with this handposition, i cant really do bendings or put in some emotions like vibrato.
    When im playing in the higher area of the neck or notes that are closer together, i will always have the area between thumb and index finger resting on the neck, so i have "maximum" control over the notes.
    is it "normal" to have some kind of transition between those position? i'd never play blues licks with my hand parallel to the fretboard and im not able to shred in the first five frets with my hand "grabbing" the neck.
    hi bernth, nochmal auf deutsch falls ich es auf englisch zu schlecht beschreibe :D
    Shredden z.B. im fünften Bund klappt eigentlich nur, wenn ich die Hand in einer relativ neutralen Position zum Griffbrett halte (Daumen als stützte und die anderen Finger parallel zum Griffbrett). Wenn ich allerdings was mit mehr Gefühl spielen will, kann ich das unmöglich mit dieser Haltung machen. Ich muss dann immer den Hals "packen", sodass der weiche Bereich zwischen Daumen und Zeigefinger den hals umschließen. Wechselst du da auch hin und her oder hast du dich auf die "neutrale" Position trainiert?
    viele Grüße!

    • @briankane7010
      @briankane7010 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One thing first: are you sure you are counting the frets starting at 1 being the widest in between frets bars/markers? Lowest pitch on your string is fret 1 and increasing pitch increments frets numbers ending where you are describing. Over the body of the guitar. Frets end usually between 20 and 24, for instance most acoustics have 20, most electrics have 22 or 24. Some even have the wacky 23. I got my first Strat in 1993, 21 frets, and my baby. I love all of my guitars equally, but her more equally.

For the past few years, when I wake early(or cant sleep) Ill go work on designs(graphic design) - either current projects or give myself a hard project to work on. Today Iv been up since 4:30 (its almost 7am) and Iv got three projects mostly finished(from start) and learnt a new technique. The "10000 hour" theory requires lots of early starts I feel.

    Hey BERNTH, does the pick you use really make much of a difference? I have never had an 'expensive' guitar pick, usually just using whatever is around (mostly match picks), just curious if is worth buying those angled picks.

    • @bdiesel563
      @bdiesel563 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pick type makes a huge difference! Try different picks and see what works best for you, and remember that different pick materials and different stiffness/thickness profiles will be better or worse depending on the type of picking you are doing (shredding vs strumming for example).

    HOWDY! I have a question for your wonderful community. I'm buying my second electric guitar. I started with a squire strat, but I'm starting to get into a start playing metal because I finally have the skills to limp through the songs I enjoy. The strat with the single humbucker just doesn't get the chugs that I'm looking for. So I've been looking at SG style guitars instead. I think the double humbucker setup will be better in the low ends and will help me achieve the right tone to get a proper chug.
    I've narrowed my choices down to two guitars but am having trouble making a decision fearing I will buy the wrong one. Would you rather a schecter omega-6 or an epiphone classic worn p-90. Would love some input for guitars @ around the 500 mark.

    I work a day job. I started doing this and i play everyday now. Waking up earlier is a great way to start the way also

    I had a pretty good practise routine, with the exception that it was the last thing before sleeping. I'm a night person, so often it's staying awake until 04:30 :D I rarely have to be at work before noon though. Practising before sleeping has the benefit that my brain kind of makes it work while I sleep and the next day it goes better.
    I've been crazy busy for the last year so my practising isn't what it used to be, but I would like to get back to it, because I enjoy it so much. I don't often even have a goal in it, I just like to play. Daily practise is a very good thing if you want to improve.

    Woah, ur technique is amazing! I'm usually just getting home from work at 9pm, make dinner & prep for the next day. I tend to do my practice from 10pm-midnight or 11pm -1am, sleep and get up at 8am. Similar routine but backwards! 😂 Night owl VS Early bird!
