Does anyone else think that Dayton Allen was channeling Frank Fontaine's Crazy Guggenheim character (from the Jackie Gleason Show) for the voice of Deputy Dawg?
That's amazing - Great Minds, &c. I was on the brink of a search on that very connection, after having caught Fontaine in a 1950 radio appearance on The Jack Benny Program, in which in a dream sequence Fontaine played several celebrities of the time - James Cagney, Winston Churchill, Ronald Colman (that was Dennis Day), Cary Grant - at a ceremonial dinner (from "the banquet room of the Taj Mahal") honoring Jack for having given to a panhandler (also Fontaine, in proto-Crazy Guggenheim voice) who had asked him for a dime the only coin in his pocket, a half dollar, which, the panhandler reveals in his speech, he spent on a winning lottery ticket, to Jack's great envy as he commences to awaken.
Misha was last seen being led toward the Gulag. Hasn't been heard from since.

Deputy Dawg reminds me of John C Reilly the actor/comedian actually.
I know that was from a different era though. He just reminds me of him in many ways.
