UK had to face two SEC opponents in that year's NCAA Tournament that they beat three times during the season (twice during the regular season and once during the conference tournament). Obviously they could beat Alabama but they couldn't beat LSU here. Sad thing about that is it prevented a UK/Louisville Final Four matchup 35 years before it 'actually' happened.
