It seems that the technique is to try and jump over the car but fail and land on top while sliding across it
I think it's more that you need momentum to carry you and just skim the hood because almost any weight you give it will end up denting it.

Only Jesse La Flair actually does shin slides in parkour :-P The side-of-leg/butt slide (similar to what was done here) is actually used in parkour speed competitions sometimes, as it can be useful.

@@an_ordinary_goose butt slide you basically have no control, shin slide you got your other leg and evem the one sliding can extend out to slow/speed you up and stick the landing

You gotta remember the duke boys car, a 1969 Dodge Charger, was a great big car. It’s hood had a large flat surface and was pretty heavy and tough. Modern car hoods are pretty small in comparison and a lot easier to bend.

I feel that this will need to be revisited with a car from the '70s or '80s. Their wider, more level hoods might improve the results.
Don't forget the heavier gauge steel which is less likely to deform. But then were talking 60's or 70's. The late 70's/early 80's was the downfall of American muscle.

I seriously love this channel.
I'm stopping at 6:53 for a second to also point out that a lot of the cars people slid across in the 70s and 80s were cars with flatter hoods than the Honda you're using ('Dukes, Starkey & Hutch, and probably TJ Hooker) so a straight slide without falling off the front was probably easier. There's also a Hood Slide Supercut you guys could have referenced.
