    After sitting in my cart for almost a month, my soaping supplies will be here monday! I decided on olive oil, coconut oil, castor base and then chose some naturall additives for colorant. Nettle leaf, turmeric, activated charcoal, and then a few other dried ingredients to add. I'm waiting to start diving into fragrance oils just yet. But I'm so excited!! And I have you and a small number other soap makers for helping encourage me to do it with your videos :) thank you

    I use index cards for all of my loaves of soap. I write notes on new fragrance oils or essential oils and colors and I keep them. They are a must. I go to the dollar tree and one pack has lasted me since I started soaping.

    his so right, I hate the "standard molds". Once I make enough I get some custom made for the bar I want.

    Couldn't agree more about your desired soap bar size determining the mold sizes.The formulas you did a few videos ago to figure out mold volume have been a great help for me. Thanks!

    • @unclejonssoap

      I use cheap commercial trash bags. They're the light duty clear kind that you can get in bulk at Sam's club, Costco, etc if you're in the US. I can get multiple liners out of each bag.

    What is the 'wrapper' you are using inside the mold? Also, did you put plywood as the shelving on those speed racks? Thanks.

    • @unclejonssoap
      @unclejonssoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! Plywood shelves for the speed rack. The liner for the mold is clear trash can liners from sam's club. Light duty 30 gallon (I think). I can get 8 mold liners from each bag.

    Do you make liquid soap and laundry soap

    • @unclejonssoap
      @unclejonssoap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately it's too labor intensive to make most liquid soaps and they aren't any better. So we stick with powdered laundry soap and bar soaps. 😁

      Honestly, most of them will work fine. Just set your supercar to around 10% and maybe add a little shea butter to the recipe at about 5%.
