Archer & Pulaski - my old neighborhood. Even to this day when I drive northbound on Pulaski, it still seems strange not seeing the Crawford Generating Station on 36th street in the distance.
Thank you for this video! So many memories! It is nice to see someone show the more serene and classic neighborhoods of Chicago that aren't just downtown, The Loop, and the same 4 or 5 neighborhoods that constantly get shown on social media. More of these please! Appreciate you!
63 rd and Pulaski, around bertuccis meat market,J and R dime store,Carls pizza,Cavalones pizza,EDs pizza, the midget club, the guy who owned it ,with his wife were some of the original munchkins from the Wizard of Oz!1050 s and 1960 s history!
This street begins in Matteson, IL at US Route 30. The street changes from Pulaski Rd back to Crawford Ave past Devon Ave in Lincolnwood. Crawford Ave becomes Hunter Rd and ends in a residential area in Wilmette. Thanks for this upload🙂
Great video! I loved the scenic route you took. I wish I could do a driving tour there sometime. It would be amazing to explore those roads and share the experience with my viewers as well. Keep up the fantastic work!
Pulaski Rd. passes by the eastern edge of St. Casimir Cemetery on the Far South Side. My parents, grandparents and aunt are interred there, and I have instructions in my last will to be buried there when my day comes.
Initially when I stumbled upon your channel, I thought, Excellent no distractions! Buuuut , I don’t know if it’s human nature to want more ( but not too much more 😅) I thought about all the history you’re missing out on……I grew up near Pulaski road named after General Casimir Pulaski ( the father of the American Cavalry )one of many heroes during the revolutionary war. Also I remember the light at 87th or 85th street to especially long. Rosario’s had a neon light of a hog happily jumping into the sausage grinder, Vito & Nicks tavern style pizza but I’ve been told tavern style is too working class but whateva (fmr Boston person) still the caraway seeds made it my favorite. Bogan park was on the right along with its high school. Ford City bridge crossed Pulaski until very recently. Ford City had a previous life as a factory for B-29 bombers & later where Preston Tucker built his(still on the road ) cars but was quashed by the Big 3. Richard J’s community college . On the 70th street a United 737 crashed into that neighborhood obliterated a number of homes. My knowledge is limited but the creators are curious about the neighborhood roads & maybe his / her viewers as well? Maybe just subtitles? Ennywho, whatever you do I’ve enjoyed your tours & PLEASE don’t block me. I won’t suggest anything in the future. Thank you & god save the King!😊
YOU stopped short of the end!? you stopped at Lawrence. there is still Foster ave., Peterson ave. and devon ave. to finish the end of Pulaski and then turns into Crawford. the northside is my home town bummer
