It was also recorded at the tempo that Dave Mustaine originally wanted the song recorded at but at the time of the first recording, the record company & producer talked Dave into slowing it down. However, that said, his voice isn't for everyone, but I've heard others say that about Axl Rose or Chris Cornell too, so....
Well it says a lot about Dave that Megadeth is still putting out great albums even today that compete with modern bands. He's not just a great song writer from that era. He's stood the test of time. Not everything has been great, nobody is perfect, but he's had far more hits than misses. Something that cannot be said for Metallica. The funny thing is Metallica takes way longer to make their music too. Megadeth has 5 more albums than Metallica even though they haven't been around as long and there was a short period where Megadeth called it quits and they still have more. And I know quality is better than quantity but Megadeth is both.
Absolutely!! Megadeth's most recent studio Dystopia is amazing and it is their 15th studio album. There are definitely more hits than misses with Megadeth. Twenty five years ago I was a bigger Metallica fan than I was a Megadeth fan. In the past fifteen years Megadeth has surpassed Metallica big time in my opinion. Megadeth has released many great albums in the 2000's such as The System Has Failed, Endgame, United Abominations, and especially Dystopia.

I used to black out from anger and stress. I have Asperger's, and I guess this happened in meltdown. It is usually less of a 'black out', but there is definitely an altered state that I am not fully grasping or remember what happened. Imagining your brain buzzing, your vision unfocused and blurry, and all that is real is this raw emotion. When you snap out of it, you get little snatches of what happened: I remember that I punched something, or broke something, or screamed something. When someone loses time like that, as I understand it, it is because the conscious has experienced somesort of trauma, and the brain steps in and says "Nope, we're not remembering that." as a way to protect you from harm or pain. I had one not too long ago, actually, and it *sucked*. I didn't break anything, though when I came out of it, I thought I did. Turned out I threw a chunk of metal across the room in rage, but I was scared at the time that I broke something. Had to go to the hospital because of how screwed up I was, as I knew that shit wasn't normal. I'm fine now, but that shit *does* happen. Do people play it up? Yeah, I think so. But it is also totally a thing.

Peace Sells deserves another listen. Sori got bogged down on the simplicity of the lyrics and the use of cliches but, musically, that song was sooo different to anything around at the time and it was that difference that got me into Megadeth
Dude. The entire album is like that. Countdown to Extinction is one of the greatest metal albums ever produced.

Peace Sells deserves another listen. Sori got bogged down on the simplicity of the lyrics and the use of cliches but, musically, that song was sooo different to anything around at the time and it was that difference that got me into Megadeth
