I'm sure theres teck cable available to use for this exact purpose instead of fiddling around with insulations and heat shrinks and in a lot of cases across seas, hundreds of feet of tape applied to each conductor.
You do know that there is a special peeling tool for the black insulation, right? Way easier and quicker and on top of it, you don't have to cut into the XLPE with a file... which is unavoidable no matter what you might wanna claim. Other than that, it looks like a professional job ;)
What will happen if the length of anti tracking tube of 6.6kV termination kit is reduced at site due to constraint of terminal box dimension.. assume supplied length of anti tracking tube is 500mm and we reduced it at site to 450mm
Thanks for sharing that Just some point to say Red shrink tube never been heated before crimping the lug Semi-com should be filed with round file not flat or half round
Weird way of preparing a heat shrink stress cone... you guys did an ok job. There ARE several ways to skin a cat though. I guess different practices are ok as long as they pass the hipot/vlf testing
but using power saw????...this is short cut. the jointor should go back to school...myself a jointor of three generations.so pls dont bullshit and the semi conductive layer u only show the filing part. where is the scoring tool.this is a easy strip conductive layer.using knife right.
this video is an example of "look, its so easy even your most unskilled labor with the cheapest most basic tools can do this" Everything shown in this video is at best marginal, if not flat out wrong.
Wacky Ninja It's probably copper-aluminum clad wire, which has an inner aluminum core followed by an outer copper layer. It's much less expensive than pure copper and helps get over aluminum's high thermal expansion coefficient while mainting most of the conductive properties of pure copper.
This is why it cost $200,000 to build what would cost over 5 million in the US. Safety and planning cost money. In the US, you no longer can "calculate" how many lives will be lost in the completion. The company would be out of business by the end of the year.
Dani The guy from the UK walked away because he and his employer would be liable under UK law. UK Health and Safety laws are enforced and can result in immense fines and even jail. Same in the US, Australia, Germany, France, Canada etc.
Agree with safety glasses. For the pit in some cases you are not required to have safety restraining. I must wear safety equipment if my feet are above 1,2 meter from low ground. Still will put some barrier if there is a pit even if is not deep enough.
The person who shoot this vedio should also explain. What kind of cable it was, what was the activity. Permits, PPE and required training. It's useful but not educating.
Which we had this quality of jointing on our network. The amount of money that would be made from callouts when they blow up.
Where did you get that cable rest from, the one camouflaged as a tool box?
I watch one and TH-cam's algorithm goes to work. Now i watch all of these videos recommended to me.

Los electricistas siempre hemos tenido la mala costumbre d pelar los cables con los dientes, pero para este cable habría q pensárselo 2 veces😁
If the outer cover was easy enough to cut with a razor, WTF was he using a recip saw to start with??
Zach Frjelich to partially cut through the high tensile steel armour so that it can be broken and removed by hand at a later stage.

@toilet brush idk, they have a special one for bigger jobs, need to look for its name. Usually here in Germany you would use a flex (angle grinder)

Not nearly as much as the power losses, which is why they use these.

Great health and safety - working right next to a concrete pit with no guard rails, restraints etc. No safety glasses FFS.
Lol. Relax man.
