Wow - I was “comment of the week!” Such an honor. 😀 It was cool to have the footage of you docking on the lock wall…we so rarely get to see our own boats in action while maneuvering. Great advantage of traveling with a flotilla (speaking of, we met the couple on “Ship Faced” in Petoskey - small world.) Those ice cream rolls look absolutely decadent - very labor intensive, but YUM!
Hi Kari, yes you sure were! It was a great comment! Oh it is a small world! We are not with Ship Faced anymore but who knows, we could catch them this week! This looper world IS a small world. We love it! Yes the ice cream was amazing - we didn't need dinner that night!! Thanks for watching! :-)
I was so happy to see a new episode and welcome to KY!! So glad you found Doe’s and enjoyed Paducah, too! Go Lisa driving that big boat!! Impressive for sure! We will miss seeing you in KY Lake since we will not be there until the 26th. I had so hoped to meet you and tell you in person how much I have enjoyed your journey - best Looper video I’ve seen. I look forward to the next episode!! Here’s my question: did you happen to notice Cairo, IL when you went past?? It has a very strange and kinda sad history if you have time to read it. One would think its location would make it a thriving town but it’s not.
Hey Jenna, YES we LOVED Does and Paducah in general! Fun little town! Your home lake is AMAZING - we are LOVING IT! Yes we noticed Cairo but did not know anything about it - I have done a little research since you posted, and yes, very sad history. Thanks for watching! :-)
Wife and I met cousin and her husband in Fayetteville for the Tennessee Arkansas game. Didn't go like we wanted, but crossed the Tenn-Tom on I-22 in Alabama. Looked both ways coming and going hoping to see loopers on the water. It's probably early for that, but gonna look anyway.
@@coolbeansloop2024 Do an away game every year so this was planned for a long time. Wife spends most of the time taking care of her mom an hour and half away. Helene put a tree through our roof. Told her right now nothing we can do so let's just go. Left day later and came back day early, but gave us a break. Enjoy your videos, so sad the end is getting near. Hopefully there will be some from next year that are just as good
The “Monkey’s Eyebrow” at the 11:46 point of your video is a curved ridge that forms the eyebrow on the profile of a monkey that is apparent when one looks at a map of western Kentucky. Refer to the map at the 12:06 point of your video. The monkeys profile looks left and is from the magenta dot in the upper right down to the left to just below Cairo, Illinois where the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers meet. The television station in Paducah located their broadcast tower on Monkey’s Eyebrow because it was the highest terrain in the area.
Any chance you'll cover your expenses? Would like to know what it costs to spend so much time in marinas. My wife would prefer the marinas versus the hook. Also, total fuel costs would be nice as well.
Hello, we will probably cover expenses, not sure all of them but definitely fuel. Chris prides himself on finding the best diesel prices! It was a Tip of the Week a while back, but we use Waterway Guide Fuel Prices as a guide. I started out only wanting marinas, but as we have been on the loop and especially up in Canada, I started to LOVE being on the hook and now wish we would have anchored more from the beginning. I would say a 50/50 mix is a good way to start. We need marinas for laundry/provisioning/etc. but you can save a small fortune by anchoring out when possible. If I did it again, I would anchor 4/5 nights a week!!! Thanks for watching! :-)
Great question! She has been an amazing loop boat, so honestly the answer is: a definite maybe! We would have to see what our needs were AFTER the loop if we did it again - if we would keep the boat for future cruising or sell. Thanks for watching! :-)
Great tip of the week! I never knew about clearing your prop. Love the channel, and thank you.
Hey there, yes we learned something new at Hoppies! Chris thought it was a really useful tip, so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching! :-)

Another good video to provide a diversion from the hurricane news. Thanks for the views.
Yes, agreed, hurricane news is so devastating. We are so saddened for all affected.

Glad you were able to go to the game, and sorry for the outcome. Aggies are looking better, so we are happy! :-) Thanks for watching!

Oh no, so sorry you had hurricane damage! That is awful and hopefully you get it repaired soon!!
