A friend of mine had us over for tacos recently, and had a bottle of this. Me, not being much of a chili head, and not familiar with this sauce, dumped about a fifth of the bottle on two tacos. Two hours later, I thought I was having an aortic dissection. Lesson learned.
You hit it right on the head when describing how the old Last Dabs have more flavor. It's not that the Apollo tastes bad, it's just that it has only the one flavor profile; and I think that is what makes it "feel" like it's hotter. With only having the one flavor profile your brain can more easily key in on how damn hot it actually is. For anybody on the fence about which to buy, I would suggest going with the older versions. Great video guys!
Honestly I adore these two. I love how she gives a more natural reaction while he gives more like..analysis of whats happening to him? while also still being funny to watch.

I found your channel about 2 weeks ago when a neighbor of mine who knows I love to make hot sauce gave me two 1 GALLLON zip lock bags full of freshly harvested Habanero Peppers. I was looking for a recipe and found your channel.... I ended up making three different versions of Hab sauce thanks to you! This is a great video, really glad to have found your channel... and am a big fan of Hot Ones. Thanks also for the "how to freeze peppers" video as I had way to many peppers to make sauce from all of them - now I have a nice bag of frozen Habs for when the batches I made run out. I do NOT have the tolerance that you two have for these extreme peppers, but I make damn fine proper buffalo wing sauce and with the addition of the Hab sauce I made it's even better! Thanks for all you do in the name of our beloved hot peppers! Very entertaining and informational channel - keep up the great work :)

I got this sauce and I have actually been impressed w the flavor of the pepper since the sauce is mainly just different variations/forms of apollo x been loving it definitely hot but the complexity of flavor seems to make it seem manageable not seeming that hot

For me, its definitely not the hottest sauce I've tasted, but it does taste pretty good. The problem is that this sauce gives me serious stomach pain everytime i try it.
I had the same experience. I swear I could feel every nanometer of my insides as that sauce passed through me. Normally It's just the entrance and exit points that are the most noticeable. If I'm being completely honest, the flavor wasn't great. Not bad, but not great. It really wasn't as hot as I thought it was going to be, and at the end of the day just caused a lot of internal pain.
Also remember, First We Feast and Ed specifically challenged themselves to make some of the hottest NATURAL sauces without extracts for the safety of guests. Also, the some people have different reactions. Like for me, ghost barely tinges me, but some habs good get me sweating.
I was dumb enough to load over two ounces of it into my mouth at once and swish and swallow, and oh my god… I have never experienced pain like that day three days ago. The burning was so bad and I had no milk, so I was chugging water, but it was also immediately DESTROYING my insides so the water chugging made me feel like I was gonna vomit. I didn’t know what to do, and I was in a full on panic. I ran outside and immediately threw up twice. At this point it was still burning bad enough I was almost crying because my dumb self had swished it in my mouth like mouthwash, and I was just dying. I ran back inside, opened my fridge and grabbed the sour cream. I licked the whole thing, and the consistency made me run right back outside to vomit again. And then I took another lick since it was the only thing even briefly ceasing the pain. Once the burning stopped, I stayed outside since my stomach was still dying. I finally felt okay enough to go inside, but about five minutes later came running back out to vomit another time. That was four. Twenty minutes later, way past the point where I thought I was all good, my abs contracted so tightly I dropped to the ground and was basically having a seizure in pain cured up on the ground. I was trying to vomit, but I couldn’t. I felt something very solid snaking its way up my stomach very slowly, and it felt like muscle when I touched it, but when it got up past my stomach, I vomited three more times, a lot. I laid there for a few minutes in intense pain, got up, and walked away. Rinsed my mouth, brushed my teeth (regretted that one), and prayed to God that it was over. Guess it all came back up instead of coming out the backend. I will never do it again
@@Smoke--- two ounces is too much lmao!!! I put about ¾oz on a taco and handled it quite well. I don't think I'd swish and shotgun 2oz though. I've done that in the past with lesser sauces and had to take an ice bath lol. Fortunately I have yet to have stomach pain from Apollo.
Son and I just tried the Apollo; we submerged our boneless wing in it and tossed it in our mouth. Four days later we are both still paying for it. Man were we crazy! Haha! 🤣🤦🏻♂️☠️
I finally found it in a store. It cost 37 dollars Canadian. It is very hot. The last Dab xxx tastes better because of the cumin. The apollo pepper distillate doesn't have the metalic taste of capsicum oleoresin.
Have all the same bottles as you have. I found the Apollo hotter than Constrictor. My initial reaction was - instant heat, faded away, It smelled like habenero/chipotle a little bit and we (2 others w/ me) agreed we tasted a bit of mango in the apollo sauce. 10-15 seconds the build up took over. The heat, I would describe almost like the bomb. The Bomb is just a chemical burn heat, Apollo is like liquid acid (not the fun one) burn. Just like the bomb, not a pleasant burn. apollo > constrictor > bomb > brain burner (personally) Like to hear your thoughts a month from now as you give it more chances.
My bottle's almost gone and I'm kind of bummed because, at this price, it's not something I'll be buying every month or so. But it's a good stuff. I use it almost daily, but with respect. This is not one to slather on. 8-10 drops on a plate of eggs or whatever, and you know you've had a serious sauce, for a while.

Fun video guys! For eating super hot stuff I call the food routine before and after "bookending". Usually a normal meal to begin with, but I end with ice cream; cold AND milky. Hasn't failed me yet. I personally love the more smoky sauces, and my fav super hot for that so far is CaJohn's Leviathan. So much flavor out of all the chocolate versions of most of the super hots. Side note, just made my first hot sauce thanks to one of your videos. Made it with habaneros I grew during the lockdown. I went a little too heavy on the onion, but that taste actually works well for firing up some mac and cheese. I plan to grow my first super hots this coming spring. I have to say, not being a plant guy previously, I do like the aesthetics of the pepper plant, and will be over-wintering them. Keep up the good content!

When that happens, I just have to lie on the floor and push against the wall with my feet. That's the only thing my body can think to do. It's awkward. If my stomach is full, it won't cramp. But if my stomach is full, I won't be hungry so I can't have a whole burning meal.
Seems like they were going for trying to have the hottest burn and gave up on the flavour. Like trying to be a new version of Da Bomb. Just peppers, pepper powder, and concentrated oil. No thanks.
Just tried mine and I'm definitely disappointed. It lacks the nice flavors added by the spices in previous editions, and at the same time it's definitely not nearly as hot as the pepper mash sauces like Gator Squeezins and Reaper Squeezins from Puckerbutt. It's so watery that I accidentally poured the whole neck of my bottle on my breakfast this morning and it didn't even make me hiccup once. It's just not that hot for a sauce made from Ed Currie's superhot peppers.
I've tried both of the previous Last Dabs, not going to buy the new one since they're way too overpriced in my opinion. I can make hotter sauces at home with reaper peppers I grew from Smokin' Eds shop, sauces similar to the Constrictor. I've frozen about 10 lbs of peppers. Also nothing beats dehydrating around 80 reaper peppers and blending them into a salt shaker, a sprinkle of that will give you a hotter burn than any sauce out there.
The constrictor was pretty dang hot, as well as the Eye of the Scorpion. Both are pricy though. For unnatural stuff, Blair’s makes some of the crazy extract sauces.

It's a good sauce. I get like one second of a nice tangy, citrusy flavor, then just burn. And yes, it builds, and the burn stays for awhile.

The Apollo sauce is certainly one of the hottest sauces I've tried that has no extract or were fermented.

Mine came a lot thicker. I didn't think it was that bad. It hits you in stages and the heat spikes when you drink water.
yeah...water doesnt seem to help it much at ALL. Its a weird sauce for me, violently hot..but goes away pretty quick and no "build" at all.
bruh, never drink water. capsacin in an oil and because water and oil don't mix, it just spreads out the surface area of the oil.

One of my favorites is 'Carnival' by Karma Sauce. It isn't as hot, and it is sweet, but amazing flavor. If you like sweet sauces, give that a try.
