    Yay it's my turn!! 🎉🎉🎉
    Dang it you guys figured it out! 🎉🎉🎉 C10 rears in the front. I originally had the 68mm DJ crawlers on it and it kept hitting the front. Mazz told me not to lol should have listened 😂. Gonna be ordering brass for the front axels. Just got them put on there before I sent it out. Thanks again for checking it out! Definitely has stock foams too.
    I don't think you broke it either. I might have playing around with it a few days before I sent it. Heard a pop but nothing seemed broke

    I am not an expert either but just throwing this idea out there. Most people want to go hog wild on the rear links for wheelbase with short fronts to keep the skid and weight up front. I bet if we had a corner weight system it would be interested to see it's front to rear weight bias. By putting the skid in the middle instead of front bias, it's probably finding it's tipping point much sooner than a skid further forward and initiating the front break over. Words are hard, does anyone understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? lol

      Probably wouldn’t hurt to flip the axles around so the front pulls more than the rear

  • @MrsRabbit8
    @MrsRabbit8 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

    It wanted to flip over because the limiting straps in the rear were causing the rear shocks to not hold the weight needed when on the incline, the rear shocks don't hold, and the longer front links don't help with that.
    Also, too much flex is often floppy, and rubber bands don't really fix that.
    Laying down shocks also causes shocks to not give as much push when compressed fully.
    Get shorter shocks, with stronger springs, and place them in a more upright position, with shorter front links, and it will perform better in the spots that this one failed.

    • @maxwellwills1816
      @maxwellwills1816 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Thanks for the great info! I had a little feeling that the rear straps were hindering it. Haven't really had a need to mess with suspension tuning YET but I'm definitely going to look more into it.

      @@maxwellwills1816i really appreciate your reply to my comment, IMO it shows your great character.
      Most people do not receive criticism well at all.
      Also, most people don't like my opinion because i think that removing springs and laying shocks down horizontal is a noob obsession that never went away. Lol
      It's hard to fine tune shocks, and i haven't found the perfect limiting strap yet. Maybe there is a different kind of rubber?
      I'm still learning, and i know it's easier to say it than do it.
      That is a badass build!
      You should be proud.
      A little dialing... and you're golden! 😊

    It looks like rear axles is overdriven and the rear tires are moving faster than the front, that would be a source of it wanting to flip over a lot more if the rear is pushing instead of the front pulling. I did notice that front wheel that just stopped turning too, something is wrong with that axle shaft. It might work better with slightly longer rubber bands up front and none on the rear. I wonder how it would crawl in reverse? Symmetrical link setups are difficult to tune and manage, that's why the AX10 and the AX24 are not used very often in the stock configurations, some C10 front and Deadbolt rear links on that one and it would probably work much better. Love the VW, love the color and happy accident paint, it does need some tuning and tweaking to maximize the potential.

    Centered skid, lipo up high/centered, and dbbl brrls are all balance issues. If the lipo was in the front of the chassis and he had a centered limit strap instead of the individual shock limit straps. That would help out quite a bit with the climbing issues. It would allow each wheel to drop instead of three wheeling on climbs. Droop is not your enemy. Like you stated. Shortening the front links will also move the weight bias where it will perform better. With 4ws rigs. F/R balance is harder to dial in when compared to drag axles. If he went with a metal servo up front, that would help weight bias as well. It hurt to watch a comp style rig fail where your tiny tire truck crawled right up.

    Try the doable climb you said can be done again using more rear wheel steer come in at an angle with the front wheels up then slowly turn the wheels one way little by little a give it throttle watching how it’s reacting & if needed do the same with the wheels turned the opposite way using the same technique it may get up that way. Remember turning the rear wheels will keep the rear down.

    Using rear wheel steer is like an art form it takes time there was a few spots where I think you could’ve made it with the proper use of it. The thing I noticed is the front lifting but as I’ve found once you get in that position with the front lifted stop & just move the rear wheels you’ll be able to see the front react & a lot of times you can use it to keep the front down but you have to slowly learn & it looks like you were starting to get a hang of it. Even with that I don’t think it would’ve made the line you said can be done & that’s based on wheel base.
