You asked about the silent hub. I usually like it for videos, but....at times I actually wish there was at least a little noise, so I can tell when the rider is coasting versus pedaling. It doen't really matter much in your videos, because you're either making a long climb, or a pretty steep descent where very little pedaling is required. But...in a lot of other YT videos, it's nice to be able to tell if the trail was level with some descending, up and down, or all descending. The hub is really the only way to tell on a GoPro at times. But....man, the dead silent new bike on the trail....sounds AMAZING!

I subscribed right away because I was blown away at the way you were/are able to rip down gnarly trails and just talk like you were sitting in a chair around a campfire or something! I loVe when you go bike shopping. Its almost like I am the one buying the bike as you talk about the different aspects of each bike as I would, or any of us.

Absolutely beautiful trails nothing like down here in Australia love to get over there sometime.
Have checked out the Knolly frames recently and like way they're doing things with the reinforced area at the BB and seat post junction. They kinda look odd the way the BB hangs out the back and the seat post is several inches in front I guess that's a different way of getting the rider into a good climbing position but still being stable on the decent.

i am very interested in onyx hubs but they have ONE thing stopping me from buying them and if i hear good reviews from you, nick, then i'm gonna send it on a rear hub. I've heard many times that over the course of a season or so of hard riding, the cam lobes that essentially act like ratchets in normal hubs can wear very quickly which causes the freehub to slip inside the hub. it makes me not want to spend $400 on the hub but it's one of the only instant engagement hubs on the market

I remember in the review of the Norco range, a lot of emphasis was made on how much more stable the high pivot made the bike feel. I guess that difference wasn't enough to choose it over a more "standard" suspension layout? I'm honestly really interested to know more. I have never ridden a high pivot myself.

    • @VanCan
