An exhibition of captured weapons opened in Moscow on May 1. In the morning and evening, a line of visitors flocks here. According to preliminary estimates, the exhibition has already been visited by more than 250 thousand people
Entrance to the exhibition area is free. However, you will have to go through a long snake of barriers and metal detector points. Despite the fact that every visitor is checked very carefully, they are even asked to remove all metal and sharp things from their bags, you won’t be stuck here for long: there are more than a dozen metal detector frames in operation
About three dozen samples of military equipment produced by 12 countries, including the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Turkey, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, South Africa, Finland, Australia, Austria and Ukraine, are displayed in the open air. A number of captured weapons are in perfect condition.
Some of the weapons were taken without a fight; the owners simply fled because the equipment got stuck in the black soil. In other cases, the equipment was simply abandoned when it was surrounded or when the tank was slightly damaged. The most interesting vehicle is the M1 Abrams - the main battle tank of the United States. Great hopes were placed on his appearance in the ranks of the enemy as an invincible weapon. This example was on fire. It was evacuated from near Berdycha. The Leopard-2 tank arouses no less curiosity among the public. This German car received the main damage in its chassis. The top is intact. And to make the equipment look more presentable, it was restored before being brought to Poklonnaya Gora.
The Marder infantry fighting vehicles produced by the Germans, American Bradleys, Swedish CV90s, and French AMX-10RCs are also on display here.
The total cost of military equipment presented at the exhibition reaches several billion dollars
