Hers is an amazing voice and her joyfulness and heartfelt interpretations move anyone with a heart. Long live the Rykyu cultures and peoples! Greetings from Brazil and nifee deebiru and much love to the Uchinanchu!
@@churasannoo Aw, that's so sweet! Here in Brazil we're sad to have one of the biggest (or the biggest, not sure though) Japanese communities out of Japan and they say most of them are Uchinaanchis!
At the beginning, she is giving instructions to the crowd as to how to dance, and what parts to sing along to. I love how interactive she is with her crowd. #OkinawaPride
Well, she may not be a "super star" in Japan. But she sang several times in the most famous music program in Japan which is broadcast one a year. Only selected singers can sing in that program.
If I sing "Mataharinu tsundara", then a wave comes to you and you scream. (audience laughed) If a wave came to you, you push it back saying "Don't come to me!". (audience laughed) Repeat this two times. Let's try to do this! "Mataharinu tsundara" "Scream!" "Don't come to me!" "Mataharinu tsundara" "Scream!" "Don't come to me!" Wonderful! (audience clapped) Well, don't be shy! We have many people here, so you show your dance to other people as if you are saying "How is my dance?".
Gasp! I have been looking for this video for a long time! I'm so excited to see it again - one of my favorite versions of this song. Thanks for posting!
Dance hard and show us your dance. To make your dance hard, you should move your hip. Don't care your neighbours, all right? You will never see them again anyway. (audience laughed) Don't regret you didn't dance harder when you come back to your home. We have three songs today, so if you can, please dance or clap your hands or move your hip, I let you decide. Then, let's start from "Asadoyayunta"!
@murdarm She's just telling people what gestures to make during which parts of the song. The song itself is the Japanese-language version, which isn't quite as great (or subversive) as the "real" one which is in the Taketomi language.
The always brilliant Rimi! Ryuichi best music! Oh, My wife is as a flower amidst a bed of thorns. I hold you back when I return at dusk. Oh, How happy, how ashamed to acquire a name of unfaithfulness. My husband is like a white lily but too much for me to control Oh, After working in the fields under the sixteen day old moon, the two of us alone but somehow constrained I have dyed for you, a dark blue kimono. Please wear it with a sash as a sign of my affection.
@blarghness a while it was on youtube but when i searched again i didn't find it so i decide to upload it from my pc. i'm glad to hear that some people apreciate this music.
Actually, the chorus of Asadoya Yunta is in an old language of the Yaeyama Archipelago, now part of Okinawa, that is now dead. The verses are usually sung in lyrics a modern Okinawan could understand, but I doubt they're the original lyrics (does anyone know?).
Conhecer Okinawa.
I'm from Czech Republic, I dont speak Japan, and I want use this folk song in our play (we have small amateur theatre). I seeking karaoke file (ideal MIDI) and I don't find it. This version, or version with Konishiki, this is very good for my project. PLEASE, HELP ME, SOMEBODY, WHO CAN FIND ON JAPAN WEBSITES. PLEASE. Excuse my english :o)
Thanks, Mori Soba, but that cover is different, is slowly and more "tradicional" as song by Rimi Natsukawa. I find maybe 20 songs like that. But I am finding karaoke version (MIDI will be the best) of song Asadoya Yunta by Rimi Natsukawa (or Rimi Natsukawa and Konishiki, this version is very very good too).
By reading Japanese explanations I guess I have found only traditional ones. Probably you better use this video as your Karaoke video or make a Karaoke video by yourself from this video or other videos of Asadoya Yunta by Rimi Natsukawa (or Rimi Natsukawa and Konishiki) version.
How about this website. There are five different versions karaoke. The top midi file is the traditional one. www.asahi-net.or.jp/~HB9T-KTD/music/Japan/Studio/Midi/Traditional/Asadoya_Yunta.html
Let me try to translate what she is saying. I hope you can enjoy this video more with this translation. Then put your hands in the air! Men should make rocks with your hands, all right? Women should make paper with your hands. If you are not sure which you are, please make scissors. (audience laughed) In short, you should open the door then close the door. Open! Close! Open! Yes! Close! Wonderful! (audience laughed) You use this in the hook of this song.
My guess is, since I'm studying japanese, isthat she is asking them if they could do a dance and she shows them the moves, saying 'Hai' or "yes" when the audience is doing it correctly but Idk just guessing. :)
It's not Okinawan. The song is mainly in standard Japanese with Yaeyama (a Ryukyuan language) verses in between. The original Yaeyama song was translated into Japanese retaining a few verses in the original language.
Mata haari = beautiful girl ( It's open to interpretation) Think Mata Hari in WW2.. She chose her name on purpose and the Okinawan is similar due to the trade with India in the 14th century and maybe before. That's why a form of Buddhism is practised in Japan today.
My apologies from my country for that "country + western" awful noise that sometimes invades decent music. I would ask for it to be banned but the yanks love that crap and they have approx. 7,000 times our population. The influence of Indonesia and India are the reason why Okinawa/Ruyuuku is a seperate language today. My Japanese friends are confused by some of these lyrics. Rimi Natsukawa is just an amazingly beautiful woman. I think she could sing the names from a phone book and I would still love her, even though her husband is playing drums behind her.. I hate him, the lucky bastroid...
Hers is an amazing voice and her joyfulness and heartfelt interpretations move anyone with a heart. Long live the Rykyu cultures and peoples! Greetings from Brazil and nifee deebiru and much love to the Uchinanchu!

Truth, but in the beginning, when she gives instructions, she's speaking Japanese, not Uchinaguchi. Also, Okinawan is a language, not a dialect :)

very nice, lovr it. can i get the liric of this song in english elphabet.
Good afternoon teacher wishing you and your family a happy new year bye bye 👸🤗🤗👍👍👍🎇🏆⭐⭐⭐🦢🐒
Japanese audience so quiet and obedient! :D :D :D !!!!
she controlled the audiences well in participation of dancing movements.
hahahaha love it

Rimi Natsukawa - Asadoya Yunta
she is the one but anyone hear the bas line?? blow mind
Kind of lucky...you could have ended up on a Lindsay Lohan video.
Her voice is great but not much ppl able to appreciate
lyrics plead?
Can anyone tell me is she is singing in standard japanese or in the okinawan language?
I'm Japanese. She sings in both Japanese and okinawan language.
I'm not from okinawa, so I can't understand the lyric of okinawan language.
She is singing in Japanese with Yaeyama (a Ryukyuan language) phrases in between
matahari = sun ?

um, the beginning is in japanese...
But the rest of the lyrics is in Uchinaaguchi?
She speaks japanese too fast!!! She could speak a lil slower so I could be certain I really don´t umderstand japanese!
