I got a letter sent home in grammar school in 3rd grade that I was causing trouble. I was shooting egg shells across my desk at my friend with my finger. My mother sent us with a lunch of tuna sandwich and hard boiled eggs. That was in 1959. Today 9 and 10 year olds are smoking and who knows what else. I'm glad I grew up then. I'm 72 and have 2 very successful kids. One is an electrician and the other a veterinarian. I can't imagine what the future has in store.
I hope they give this guy the maximum sentence possible

I agree that he should have not had a bond so quickly. Eventually the law requires bond at some point or a bond so high he won’t get out. He is a danger to the public.
According to a quick Google inquiry, it says that cocaine remains detectable up to 4 days, however, it can be detectable for a few weeks "in some people". I'm guessing that would depend on how much and how long you used.
I've never done cocaine, but I do know that these drug tests are very sensitive. So, depending on how long he was a user, he could fall into that "few weeks" category. The detail to look at would be the levels it was detected in. If it's lower, then he might be telling the truth.
I am on opioid medications, and have to take these tests myself both to prove I am actually taking them, and to ensure I am not taking anything BUT them.

They will usually bring up that they have the right to a speedy trial after saying that the court has no jurisdiction over them. They want all the protections but none of the responsibilities. In their world, the law protects them, but they do not have to respect it.

Most of the time, the charges are minor, and the person would have gotten the same result had they not played the sov-cit game. It's only when serious charges are involved (eg, Darrell Brooks) is when prosecutors get serious and don't back down. Remember, the sov-cit game is merely a defense. The worst possible sentence with a bad defense would usually be the same no matter the method of bad defenses, such as accidental confessions, bad lawyers, or sov-cit shenanigans.

If you're accused of DWI causing death and that does not give you a reality check to stop, instead you continue to use days after being in court and continue to use then your addiction is so bad that for the sake of the safety of public as well as himself he needs to be in jail and remain in jail until the case is resolved,
