    Great episode, thanks! Sadly not many content creators put somebody, but Capone/Luciano/Gotti in the spotlight, and that's what sets this channel apart from those.

      Thank you for the kind words! I know that I move a lot slower than other channels, but I try to be methodical. The funny thing is that my in-laws lived in Cincinnati for quite a long time and had never heard of Remus. It was fun digging into his story and bringing the kind of strange guy from Boardwalk Empire to life.

      @@TheGanglandHistoryPodcast Sure, the show definitely contributed to the guy's popularity, I myself learned about him this way years back.

      Agree with this comment!
      I fell into the trap on focusing on Capone and Luciano first, but then decided to start my whole journey of creating content on crime/mafia with George Remus after learning about his life.
      Also, this episode is a definite watch/listen to anyone wanting to learn about George Remus!

      You move fast enough. People want to see quality content in a waterd down genre. And idk about you guys, but I'd like to see a lucky Luciano video on the podcast. He would have a way more detailed and unique perspective on what most just copy and past. It would probably help the show gain viewers, too.

    I’m a cincinnati guy about to go watch a Reds game with my folks.
    What a fascinating guy, what a good interview.
    What a story!

      I'm a life long Cleveland fan myself! And yes, as someone from the state of Ohio, it was very interesting to research Remus' story. They make him seem like an idiot on Boardwalk Empire, but he was far from it. Crazy like a fox that one.

    Remus has read the Volstead Act. Remus
    is very smart. Remus is beloved by men, women and children .

    I'm a Cincinnati native & his wife was murdered on the steps of the Pavillion @ Eden Park.... he's Notorious here.

    • @TheGanglandHistoryPodcast
      @TheGanglandHistoryPodcast  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, for those in the know he certainly is. Funny thing is my wife's family is from Cincinnati and when I asked them if they'd heard of Remus they hadn't, so I gather that it's hit or miss. I myself am from North Central Ohio and didn't know about Remus until running across him and researching him a few years ago. The fact that he openly committed that murder in such a public fashion and wasn't convicted is pretty astonishing.

      He's on my list. Los Angeles has a very interesting mob history. Desimone was certainly one of those characters.

    Where did you get the lansky t shirt?

    • @TheGanglandHistoryPodcast
      @TheGanglandHistoryPodcast  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi James - It was an old Members Only Podcast shirt that I was selling on my merch store. I am in the process of looking for a new merch provider. While Teespring has some good stuff, my experience has been that the t-shirts tend to fall apart in the wash (at least the designs start coming off) a little too quickly for my comfort. As soon as I find another good provider, I'll throw up a new Lansky shirt and some others.

      @TheGanglandHistoryPodcast yea that would be cool. If I were you I'd put everyone on a shirt that you did a video on.

      Admittedly, I had never heard of him before. He sounds worthy of an episode someday. Do you know if he had any interactions with the LCN family in Dallas, Texas? I'm not sure of the exact geography being from the Midwest.

      "Remus sells alcohol for medicinal purposes only. Now, if somebody 'steals' that alcohol while en route, it's not Remus's concern - after all, that somebody is either Remus himself, or someone that has paid Remus beforehand."
