Luckyyyyy, I would love to play Unleashed on there but I can't justify buying a brand new console just for that since I wouldn't want to get anything else on it lol
*Unleashed* definitely has one of my favorite stories told in a Sonic game.

Agreed, as much as I love the Sonic games there just aren't that many that have a good stories so Unleashed stands above most of them for me. Here's to hoping that Ian Flynn can make another great Sonic story in Frontiers!

Helllllll yeah! I love Sonic Adventure 2 but the combination of gameplay, music, and story in Unleashed just can't be topped by any other game in the series for me
@@PowPowSmash Yeah, I think I have a similar view. I at least like every other game, and even love some like Sonic 3 or Adventure. Sonic Unleashed however just does everything exactly how I like it.
Unleashed is the best Sonic game in my book for its story and sense of challenge

For real it's a shame that none of the night stage music got to shine because of it, I absolutely adore the compositions for Cool Edge, Dragon Road, Windmill Isle, and Rooftop Run's night variants
We had a little too much fun recording those skits haha
I KNOW. The battle music constantly interrupting the good night stage tracks adds to the repetitive feeling of the levels
I just really love this games presentation and scenery. The opening cutscene could literally have me talking for a half hour detailing every piece of it and the game itself is beatiful and still probably the best looking 3D Sonic game (which considering it came out over a decade ago, I don't know whether that statement is a compliment to the game or the opposite to the series).
Yeah the game has aged like fine wine, I really hope that Frontiers can challenge Unleashed on having the best Sonic cutscene of all time

Thank you so much Rocco! I won't deny that it definitely is a grind to keep putting out videos while trying to juggle the rest of what I have going on in my life but I wouldn't have it any other way :) the key is planning out your days and making sure not to procrastinate!
when it comes to my favorite sonic games i'm still split between generations and unleashed because generations was the game that introduced me to sonic in the first place but i have alot of fond memeories playing unleahsed and i still enjoy playing those games to this day
They're both really great games! My thing with Generations is that yes the game is incredible but it's essentially a Sonic franchise "greatest hits" so I would hope that that it's amazing if that makes sense lol
Unleashed has the Generations story beat though imo
Windmill Island (Day) is probably my favorite Sonic song of all time.
It's such a bop! My fav is definitely Super Sonic vs Perfect Dark Gaia at least when it comes to the no-vocals tracks

I wish for Sonic unleashed to be remade and ported to newer consoles because It deserves a second chance. I’ve personally never played Sonic Unleashed and I’d love to but I don’t have the money to get a Xbox 360. The opening cutscene looks amazing and could be mistaken for a movie and I love the music in this game. Great video like always Pow Pow!
Every time Unleashed is played on a new gen console it feels like a port because the new consoles can finally keep up with Unleashed LOL. Thanks as always for the support Bolt :)

LMAO. I can't get myself to watch an anime that long. That's awesome that Unleashed got you into the series! Mine was 3 & Knuckles but as I got older I prefer the 3D games
Sonic Adventure 2 is my fave Sonic game. I’ve played it so many times, but Unleashed is my 2nd fave. That game was FUN. I had the Wii version first, and then got the 360 version later (cause it low key is the better one lol). The graphics were so pretty. I don’t think a Sonic game has looked as beautiful since tbh. The music was hella good. I love Chun-Nan’s day stage music and Rooftop Run were stand outs.
SA2 is definitely my second favorite on the Sonic/Shadow level gameplay alone lol, still my favorite Sonic gameplay! I actually started with the Wii version too and didn't play the 360 version until very recently. There's just so much heart in Unleashed that we haven't had in a Sonic game since

I was planning on talking about how the Werehog's gameplay would make an excellent Knuckles game but I *never* pass up a moment to talk about Unleashed's pefect depiction of Sonic as a character.
I feel like the 2010's games always tried to write Sonic as a "cool" character while not even knowing what cool means. Heck, I don't even know what cool means. Does anyone? It's such a broad term that changes from person to person. What I think SU did right was to not write Sonic as a symbol cool but to write him as a character. He's arrogant but not to the point where he puts anyone he cares about down with his own ego or talking his mouth off to how he's the greatest. He's willing to help anyone even at the sacrifice of his time energy and possibly life and he's strong in what he believes in always doing what he thinks he needs to in order to get through. He does things his way, his own way.
Watching the Sonic Unleashed cutscenes is what first got me into this series. Seeing this blue anthropromorphic hedgehog run around beat up badniks and help this......whatever Chip is without even really knowing him spoke to me in ways not many other things did at the time. Whenever I need some inspiration to do much of anything, I look at this Sonic. This steadfast snark with a heart of gold who puts others before him. This Sonic is my hero and this simple but compelling story is the reason I think Sonic can and has told really good ones and why they shouldn't be restrictive because surrounds a 3'3 blue mammal that runs fast.

I know mostly everyone here is giving their take on Unleash but all I have to say is please keep ladder wisp a running joke in your videos. He’s great lol. Oh yeah and GOATed video as always Reed!

If it weren't for the coin requirement locking me out of progression, I might not have given up on this game (to go play Super Smash Bros. Brawl). I was not able to find them on my own after running through the levels several times, so seeing that I had to go SLOW in the day levels definitely kills it for me.
Whenever I had to slow down in Sonic or Shadow levels in SA2B, it was only for side missions and completionist work (finding lost chao, looking for certain unique powerups, etc.), which doesn't stop anyone from continuing to enjoy the game normally. Ngl though, I definitely imagine Sonic X's version of the story rather than pay much attention to the "dated" quality within the game.
It is as you said so perfectly within the first 5-6 minutes of your video; I am one who chose my favorite based on the gameplay more than the in-game story quality (because otherwise, I'd even put SA1 over it).
Completely understandable, Unleashed is not for everyone and when it comes to wanting to get straight into the action I usually feel the same way. SA2 Sonic/Shadow levels are still my favorite Sonic gameplay experience, but Unleashed's overall package of gameplay, music, and story is what makes it my favorite

It's definitely one of the best Sonic games!
Honestly Unleashed is that game that just needs a remaster & nothing more. Visually take the original game & increase its resolution to AT LEAST 1080p MINIMUM & offer it a consistent 60fps frame rate, then offer QoL improvements like no medal blocks (medal's are still collectable in the game), a consistent Werehog Drop-Shadow which'd be essential for completing stages like Eggman Land & offer customisation capabilities so that we can change the button mapping to where the Homing Attack, Boost & Air-Dash aren't all locked to the same button, which would legitimately go a long way. There's a ton more improvements that Unleashed could offer in a remaster that'd honestly do it justice, because imo, Unleashed is just a game with flaws that're easily fixed, but those flaws are ALWAYS present all throughout the game & everytime you notice that same repeated flaw, the experience is slowly, but surely being ruined.
Also please allow us to toggle that DAMM WEREHOG BATTLE THEME!😫😭
This is such a based comment, every change you suggested is a great idea and completely reasonable! If they ever remaster this game those are the only changes they really need to make (since shortening the duration of the werehog stages probably isn't feasible)
Honestly the combat & even maneuvering through the Werehog stages is completely underrated imo. I just think if Unleashed ever got a remaster & ironed out it's creases, then perhaps people would be willing to give it a chance & not be unfairly biased, because even today, many fans outside of the Sonic Community will still shit on Unleashed, because of the Werehog idea & the games unfairly received reception at launch, without even giving it a chance, despite their genuinely being a great game lurking beneath the cracks.
Sonic Unleashed and I have a rough history. Ever since I first played it I’ve hated it. Lack of any playable characters besides Sonic, levels that felt like they boxed you in compared to games I played before, and honestly a story that I didn’t really care about. So to much to my dismay, I keep hearing people say “Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game” or “Unleashed is the best Sonic game” and such like it. At the end of the day it’s all opinions but I just never could get into the game. Sure, the music is great and the graphics still hold up well but I can just play it’s better cousin, Generations for all that and more. I write this comment not to be negative or even start a debate, it’s more to explain how out of touch I feel with this franchise now. Back when I was a kid, Unleashed was seen as the continuation of the dark ages, the Adventure games were on top, and the classics were in the past but still held in high regard. Now I sit and watch people claim this game to be greatest Sonic game and the adventure games are seen as outdated. It’s honestly so strange to see the course of discussion change so quickly. Perhaps I owe Unleashed another playthrough because I clearly missed everyone else is seeing in this game. But now I’m starting to sound like an old rambling Sonic fan who doesn’t understand Gen Z’s nostalgia haha. Great video regardless on my opinion, keep up the good work!
Thanks Lvl! Preferring Generations is completely reasonable because it forgoes a lot of Unleashed's flaws and focuses on the good stuff. I prefer Unleashed's story by a lot and yes Generations is great but it's definitely the "Greatest Hits" of the Sonic series so it makes sense that everything is really great about the game if that makes sense lol
Gameplay alone, my favoprite will probably always be the Adventure 2 Sonic/Shadow levels but the overall package is still Unleashed for me
