- I have grown so old that I remember when PS3 games were coming out new for $70 plus here in Japan...and now they're in the junk bin for 110 yen. Join the hunt for classic Japanese retro games in Kamakura.

wow a lot of video games great video :)
My man in Japan Jcontra, you’re one of my favorites, can’t wait to hit a lot of hard offs in Japan when I go in April! Definitely have to buy you a beer for your videos!
Love the videos! I’d go broke living in Japan, buying so many consoles & games lol
Re-watching the great hard off hunts by our man out of Japan, Jcontra.
Very soothing vid to fall asleep to
It's an amazing time to be interested in PS3 games! I've been having a hay day recently picking up great games for the system for basically nothing. I'll probably play more PS3 than PS4 in 2020. Thanks for showing off this Hard Off 😁
Sunday ritual.... your junk diving videos are the best videos
You know it is Sunday. Coffee, Toasted Sandwiches and our man in Japan JContra. Awesome video.
Love these videos. Could watch them for hours and do. Lol
A tip : watch movies at InstaFlixxer. Been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Jasiah Benedict yea, I have been using instaflixxer for years myself =)
@Jasiah Benedict Yea, I've been using InstaFlixxer for since november myself :)
@Jasiah Benedict yea, been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself :D
@Jasiah Benedict yup, been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
The N64 Hudson game near the end is amazing, I always knew it as Firepen back the day. I also kinda wanted Ayumi Hamasaki Visual Mix way back when it was released, used to be a bit of a fan.
Omg that orange gamecube ahhhhh send me one lol 😂
Do the junk CDs work? I know CDs are region free, and a lot of the stuff is just kind of out in the junk area when it gets old, so I am very curious!
Hey jcontra! I've always wanted to know what your retro gaming set up looks like. Specifically, I wanted to know if you have your retro consoles hooked up to a CRT or a modern tv? I will be moving to Japan in a month and I plan to collect games while I'm living there. Can you recommend any stores where I could find a small crt for a retro game set up in a tiny apartment?
I have a sony PVM that I picked up years ago. If you can, head out to a Hard Off. Not all of them will have one, but many will have CRTs for cheap.
jcontra okay cool! I will be living near Gifu city, so hopefully there will be some good shops nearby.
What's your take in this Coronavirus thing? Can we travel to Japan safely? I still want to plan travelling there to game hunt.
man i hope someday can offered going there.
Great Ps2 games are in every junk section ever. Apparently, I'm collecting for the wrong systems xD
If you have any friends with collections of there own I think it would be cool to showcase them if you could get there permission. Just an idea
Ok what's that tall Super Famicom cartridge with a Gameboy slot on the top of it in the N64 bin? It doesn't look like the gameboy player cartridge...
Probably a satellaview game, by the looks of it
You are in Japan
Jesus Christ superstar lp I’m booking a flight right now too come get it 😂😉
That fantavision ps2 game sounds rad af. Just display fireworks on your television while you admire it like those JPEG kids on the front cover
Hey, did you ever find a Simpsons game released in Japan? How about Family Guy or Futurama?
I've seen a few for the super famicom-Virtual Bart and another one that I can't remember, but I haven't seen anything Family Guy or Futurama yet.
do you evern buy junk stuff or is it below you to not buy anything that isnt gem mint?
I would be buying that junk bin stuff and selling it on Ebay $5 each all day long.
@@robertdutcher8081 right? I mean its so cheap you could bring that back to the states and have a killer collection.
Half of my collection is from the junk bin
Have you seen any tales of games
I've seen people pull them from the junk bins for 100 yen.
Yes they are plentiful and dirt cheap
