    Once again thanks for an informative video and the pragmatic advice. I often wake during the night or early morning but what I think is most important is not to focus on being awake and/or worrying about not being able to sleep. I also don’t get up unless I need to go to the toilet, turn on the light, look at phone or see what the time is. I just snuggle up and relax and let my mind wander - often thinking about my children and family who are on the other side of the world. Sometimes I focus on counting things such as the countries I’ve visited, friends, nice things that happened and soon I’m back to sleep. If I’m tired during the day I’ll have a nap. Having said that I’m in the fortunate position of being retired with no family or anyone else (apart from my husband 😂) to care for. When I was having chemo and the following couple of months I felt exhausted, even if I had a long sleep (rather than a ‘nana nap’) I actually slept better that night.

    Thank you!! I need to just put your calming voice on a cd to play to relax and captain picard's voice to fall asleep!! Anastrozole has made my insomnia worse. It does make it harder to deal with everything else but my signatera test just came back negative so lack of sleep is small price to pay. Will keep on keeping on!

    I use a number of things every night to get sleep ... I put a heart-shaped cushion under my arm where some of my worst scarring is, I drink a cup of tea before bed that specifically supports sleep (Bird and Blend, Deckchair Dreaming) and I use an aromatherapy sleep stick on my pulse points before sleep. I still wake up multiple times a night since surgery, and now with the hormone treatment, but as long as I can get back to sleep each time I wake ... then that is a good compromise!

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you have developed a thoughtful and personalized routine to support your sleep. Creating a comfortable environment and incorporating relaxing elements like the heart-shaped cushion, tea, and aromatherapy can indeed contribute to better sleep quality. Waking up multiple times during the night is not uncommon, especially with factors like surgery and hormonal therapy. Thank you for watching and being part of the Yerbba community!

    Many thanks for this useful video - sleep is very important also for the success of our treatment. Additional things that helped me normalize my sleep and get more rest: ashwagandha in the morning, daily intermittent fasting for 18 hours starting after lunch ending at noon, going to sleep early at around 9 PM (body's natural melatonin is released between 10 PM and midnight), meditation before bed, hand writing in journal even though we're more used to type now (positive findings/conclusions about this day). I also stopped tracking my sleep and wearing my tracker at night - what sense of liberation and calm!

    Thank you for your tips. I always find your info helpful. I am curious about your opinion about using melatonin. I have found it extremely helpful for my sleep problems.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Melatonin can help many people with their sleep. After a while, it may not be as effective. Taking a break from it and resuming it later may help if it does stop being effective.

    I was a red wine lover in wintertime in Germany, as you get perfect warm feet from it. But not with cancer stage IV...my tip: In winter, try bedsocks, if possible made of wool. Your feet will get nicely warm and you will fall asleep faster. All the best for all of us cancer ladies! ❤

    One postscriptum: In summer, when suffering from extreme sweating because of artificial menopause, try nightgowns of batiste. This is a very fine, but woven coton fabric. Sweating is much better in these light nightgowns. So pleasant to wear!

      Thank you for watching. It's important to follow your doctor's guidance regarding the timing of your tamoxifen medication. In general, it does not matter when you take tamoxifen. If you have concerns about when to take your medication, it's best to discuss them with your medical team.

    I have a calming herbal spray that I put on my pillow case and do deep breathing exercises. It mostly helps, but not all the time.
