Great comment I could not agree more, Tony M deffo know how to string an interesting melody together over Mr Iommi's supercool guitar riffs! Fantastic album no doubt!
@@thereagauze I think it's clear in retrospect Iommi had the most vision in Black Sabbath. Even in recent years, Iommi wanted to write a new album after 13 but Ozzy and Geezer didn't have interest.
I remember wearing a Live Evil shirt back in and somebody asked me if I was an Ozzy or Dio era fan. I said I'm a Black Sabbath fan and I even liked the Ian Gillan album (7th Star wasn't out yet)
I'm so glad they re-released these albums. Along with the Eternal Idol, these albums prove once and for all that Tony Martin was a hell of a vocalist and deserved so much more credit and praise than he ever got! Damn good albums!! Thanks Tony for putting these out!
God this is Sabbath's most powerful song ever. The drums, bass, synth, guitar and screeching vocals, everything strikes as a sledgehammer and I love it
I love Dio (as all metalheads do) but honestly…Tony Martin’s voice is RIGHT THERE in terms of greatness as far as I’m concerned. The poor guy had the unfortunate luck of following two iconic metal frontmen and at a time when Iommi was churning through bandmembers at a ridiculous rate (the coke didn’t help matters), but Martin gave 100% in the studio and contributed brilliant vocals to some criminally overlooked albums.
My favourite is Heaven in Black, but then again, I'm a big Cozy Powell fan , Bless him!!! Anno Mundi is also great though! I personally like the whole album.
Thank you Mr. Iommi for shining a big beautiful light on the Tony Martin era! One of the best metal singers ever! Probably one of my most anticipated releases ever with this upcoming box set. Thanks again! My brain and my ears cannot wait😊😊😊
Well said Sir the 1st Sabbath I brought I was 12yo back in 1992 from a record shop in Dudley it was the Eternal Idol thinking it was Ozzy Singing to my surprise it wasn't but I was 12yo but I loved it still have it today on cassette.
@@jimmy-stourbridge-fc8980 1990's had great music mate! I finally got to see Black Sabbath in 2012 and 2015 on the 13 Final Tour. To this day..I regret not spending $150 to see Heaven and Hell in Sydney August 2007. I missed my only chance to see Ronnie James Dio live.
Eternal Idol, Headless Cross and Tyr are emblematic albums. Where Black Sabbath achieves impressive sound quality and instrumental weight. The band's composition in these projects revealed the vision that Iommi desires, they are unforgettable and essential masterpieces in the history of Heavy Metal.
Bow down to the master. The heavy metal god, the one riffmaster to rule them all. And to the singer and lyricist equalled by few and surpassed by none. And to the thunderous rhythm section from hell, and to the inimitable provider of eerie atmosphere behind the keys. Bow down to Black Sabbath.
This is one of the GREATEST pieces of hard Rock I have ever come across in my life, just masterfully written, performed and recorded by ALL on board Thank you ! 🥇👍
As a longtime fan of Black Sabbath from back in the 70's it does not matter who is singing as long as Tony Iommi is playing his guitar because I have liked them all, so it did not take long to like Tony Martin...his voice is a perfect fit.
With his appearance in the band Toni Martin revived Black Sabbath, created and with his brilliant voice sang unforgettable songs. The keyboard is incredible.... the riffs too, but the drums are TOP!
A great album and all the albums with Tony Martin are a delight to my ears, I love this stage of Black Sabbath and I had the opportunity to see the original line-up + Tony Martin in Chile greetings from Chile
LOVE THIS ALBUM! Cozy's thunderous, varied fills are majestic and Tony's vocals are sublime. Easily my second favourite Sabbath singer after Dio (I might've revised my opinion if Ray Gillen had stayed but I guess if he did, we'd have never had Badlands...). Hope Tony Iommi does something with Tony Martin again, a few shows or new music. Could even draft in Neil Murray and Bobby Rondinelli ❤
I am a Black Sabbath fan of the Dio and Martin's(Ray Gillen) eras. I can count on my fingers how many times i listened to a Sabbath Ozzy Era song sung by Ozzy. So i can say that all of Martin's albums are awesome.
Totally agree. Dio and Tony are the best. I prefer TYR one million times than Paranoid. I can't stand Ossie whining all the time, he just couldn't sing, he was pathetic and boring, so he was, by far, Sabbath's worst singer ever. Ossie is the most overrated guy in heavy metal history. I had all of his Sabbath albums on vinyl and thrown all of them away
Loved the whole Album from the orig. release on. Fantastic epic heavy metal with obviously the most underrated metal singer of all times, who graced this album with some amazing singing and made it so special. No former Sabbath singer would be able to sing the album the way Tony did. This and Odin's court and Valhalla always put a BIG SMILE on my face......Odin will lead us on......!" Yessssssss
Tony Martin's vocal range and performance on this album and Headless Cross is absolutely stunning.
He is also great on The Eternal Idol and Cross Purposes.
@@darkmarv8045those are both good albums, but Tyr and Headless Cross rise above everything else. Tony Martin's voice was peak level
The real Pinnacle of his vocal lines is in this album... AMAZING record...
Sounds Alot like DIO✌️💯💥
he never repeats a melody! The guy is very creative.
TYR is a masterpiece album . It's perfect from beginning to end
I agree.. It doesn't get the credit it deserves... It's almost like the forgotten album. It's a hidden gem..
Forever Cozy Powell
true 😎
So damn true

One of the best vocal performances of all time. The way the main riff builds up to the chorus adds to the epic feeling of the song.
I'd agree
Great comment I could not agree more, Tony M deffo know how to string an interesting melody together over Mr Iommi's supercool guitar riffs! Fantastic album no doubt!
Without Tony Iommi, thir are no Black Sabbath and Heaven And Hell. He is the man who hold the name forever and kept it shining for the metal world.
Pretty much Tony's band from the beginning. As it was, so shall it be.
@@robertspence831 once he returned from Tull he took control, they might have just have been a blues bar band if not for him steering them.

Tony Martin was unreal. His voice lines on "do you follow the path?" and "do you look to the dawn?" give me the chills everytime
By far the best era. 💪💪💪💪
I walked miles through snow to get this lp. This track stood out as a rare chance for Iommi to solo and not be constrained
Those intro riffs might just be the greatest moment in heavy metal history.
God this is Sabbath's most powerful song ever. The drums, bass, synth, guitar and screeching vocals, everything strikes as a sledgehammer and I love it
One of the best songs of Martin's era.
Tony Martin is a legendary vocalist clearly Iommi is fond of him and rightly so. I'm a fan
After all these years this band still kicks ass. I'll have to get this album.
I don't diaagree. But This album is almost 35 years old.
Tony's vocal performance on this is unbelievable.
One of the best Sabbath's songs.
The best song of the Martin era. Iommi's riff is killer. No surprise.
Eternal Idol, Tyr and Headless Cross always in my heart.
I leved the Headless Cross - Tyr era and remember getting my Tyr vinyl signed by Tony Iommi and Cozy Powell in Birmingham. I still have it.
Tony Martin, shines once again. What a GREAT song..What a riff !!!!! Really THANK YOU my dear Tony Iommi...MY GOD !!!! What an album !!!
God bless Cozy Powell !!!

Geoff Nichols keyboards are amazing here
Sabbath listener for about 50 years. I saw all the different vocalists with Sabbath. So glad to hear anything from him.
Just curious , have you seen ray Gillan , and glen Hughes perform with Sabbath ?
I like all the vocalists of Sabbath because my ears work. 🤘
Good for you.
