► LYRICS
Spiritus Sanctus, Anno, Anno Mundi
Spiritus Sanctus, Anno, Anno Mundi
Can you see me, are you near me?
Can you hear me crying out for life?
Can you tell me, where's the glory?
Ride the days and sail the nights
When it's over, you'll find the answer
Running in the whispering rain
Anno Mundi, can you wonder?
Truth of thunder, life or blame
Do you see a vision of a perfect place?
Does it make you laugh? Put a smile on your face?
Do you need a mirror? Do you see it well?
Does the hand of God still toll the bell?
There are people laughing, they're all laughing at you
If only they could see what you're saying was true, ooh, yeah
Still generals fighting, making war on the world
Don't they know? Don't they know? No, no, no
As the wind of the night blows cold
Your eyes are burning
And the sands of our time grow old
Anno Mundi, yeah
Do you follow the path that so many tread?
Are you among the blind, so easily lead?
Do you join in the war? Do you fight for the cause?
Depend on another to fight it alone
As the wind of the night blows cold
Your eyes are burning
And the sands of our time grow old
No, no, no
Spiritus Sanctus, Anno, Anno Mundi
Spiritus Sanctus, Anno, Anno Mundi
Can you see me now? Oh, oh-oh-oh
Can you hear me now? Oh, no
Can you tell me where's the glory?
Ride the days and sail the nights
When it's over, you'll find the answer
Running in the rain
Truth of thunder, life or blame
There's a hope that's growing, and a vision too
All those angry hearts now reach out for you
Do you look to the dawn? See a new day begun?
No longer the fool, the vision is done
As the winds of the night blow cold
Your eyes are burning
And the sands of our time grow old
Your eyes are burning
And the winds of the night blow cold
Your eyes are burning
And the sands of our time grow old
Your eyes are burning

Tony Martin's vocal range and performance on this album and Headless Cross is absolutely stunning.
He is also great on The Eternal Idol and Cross Purposes.
@@darkmarv8045those are both good albums, but Tyr and Headless Cross rise above everything else. Tony Martin's voice was peak level
The real Pinnacle of his vocal lines is in this album... AMAZING record...
Sounds Alot like DIO✌️💯💥
he never repeats a melody! The guy is very creative.
Forever Cozy Powell
true 😎
So damn true
🥁
TYR is a masterpiece album . It's perfect from beginning to end
I agree.. It doesn't get the credit it deserves... It's almost like the forgotten album. It's a hidden gem..
Most underrated Sabbath member of all time
I remember wearing a Live Evil shirt back in and somebody asked me if I was an Ozzy or Dio era fan. I said I'm a Black Sabbath fan and I even liked the Ian Gillan album (7th Star wasn't out yet)
@@MdlAgedHeadbanger Man of good taste
Anno mundi 2024
Why underrated? Он лучший, наравне с Dio
Well, says you. I bought these albums when they came out. I always knew they were incredible.
Without Tony Iommi, thir are no Black Sabbath and Heaven And Hell. He is the man who hold the name forever and kept it shining for the metal world.
Pretty much Tony's band from the beginning. As it was, so shall it be.
@@robertspence831 once he returned from Tull he took control, they might have just have been a blues bar band if not for him steering them.
@@thereagauze I think it's clear in retrospect Iommi had the most vision in Black Sabbath. Even in recent years, Iommi wanted to write a new album after 13 but Ozzy and Geezer didn't have interest.
tony iommi is so important in black sabbath i am still impressed about the riffs
One of the best vocal performances of all time. The way the main riff builds up to the chorus adds to the epic feeling of the song.
I'd agree
Great comment I could not agree more, Tony M deffo know how to string an interesting melody together over Mr Iommi's supercool guitar riffs! Fantastic album no doubt!
I'm so glad they re-released these albums. Along with the Eternal Idol, these albums prove once and for all that Tony Martin was a hell of a vocalist and deserved so much more credit and praise than he ever got! Damn good albums!! Thanks Tony for putting these out!
Tony Martin was unreal. His voice lines on "do you follow the path?" and "do you look to the dawn?" give me the chills everytime
By far the best era. 💪💪💪💪
Finally. I love Black Sabbath's Tony Martin era. Fill the gap in spotify, please.
on the 31st
One of the best songs of Martin's era.
Martins era is so good❤
the best one
@@fabricegrard1001The Dio era is vocally and musically superior.
@@alistairlindsay1019I think Martin is just as good as Dio, just not as accomplished.
This album might actually be the peak of Iommi's guitar playing.
Those intro riffs might just be the greatest moment in heavy metal history.
Tony Martin we salute you!!!!!!!!! ⚡⚡
Tony Martin the Best Singer from Black Sabbath
I've always agreed
And Dio
I've always had a thing for Ian Gillian (forgive the spelling if I got it wrong). I think it's more about the formula and the incredible creativity from the riffs to the lyrics to the underlying themes, attitude and style that thread through the original 8 studio albums and to a lesser degree the rest of the bands albums
Geoff Nichols keyboards are amazing here
Crazy how Tony only has just over 30k subscribers.. wtf?? Should be 30 million!
This guitar solo is so beautiful that makes me travel to the desert at night...
LOL, get a woman.
@@Luiz.Campos your mother...
Best song from the album
My favourite is Heaven in Black, but then again, I'm a big Cozy Powell fan , Bless him!!! Anno Mundi is also great though! I personally like the whole album.
Agreed, gives me the chills still after all these years
I think it's the best from the band
The period with Tony Martin are total underrated🤩
Not anymore!
Sabbath listener for about 50 years. I saw all the different vocalists with Sabbath. So glad to hear anything from him.
Just curious , have you seen ray Gillan , and glen Hughes perform with Sabbath ?
I am a Black Sabbath fan of the Dio and Martin's(Ray Gillen) eras.
I can count on my fingers how many times i listened to a Sabbath Ozzy Era song sung by Ozzy.
So i can say that all of Martin's albums are awesome.
Totally agree. Dio and Tony are the best. I prefer TYR one million times than Paranoid. I can't stand Ossie whining all the time, he just couldn't sing, he was pathetic and boring, so he was, by far, Sabbath's worst singer ever. Ossie is the most overrated guy in heavy metal history. I had all of his Sabbath albums on vinyl and thrown all of them away
@@marcusmascarenhascs742 100% agree with you
The best song of the Martin era. Iommi's riff is killer. No surprise.
I leved the Headless Cross - Tyr era and remember getting my Tyr vinyl signed by Tony Iommi and Cozy Powell in Birmingham. I still have it.
I've ordered my Tony Martin era Black Sabbath box set! Finally Tony gets the recognition he truly deserves!
Well said Sir the 1st Sabbath I brought I was 12yo back in 1992 from a record shop in Dudley it was the Eternal Idol thinking it was Ozzy Singing to my surprise it wasn't but I was 12yo but I loved it still have it today on cassette.
@@jimmy-stourbridge-fc8980
1990's had great music mate! I finally got to see Black Sabbath in 2012 and 2015 on the 13 Final Tour.
To this day..I regret not spending $150 to see Heaven and Hell in Sydney August 2007. I missed my only chance to see Ronnie James Dio live.
Tony Martin, shines once again. What a GREAT song..What a riff !!!!! Really THANK YOU my dear Tony Iommi...MY GOD !!!! What an album !!!
"When Death Calls" next please!
And "Kill in the spirit world"
This album is a hidden gem... Almost like the forgotten child of the band...
My favorite Sabbath!! Tony Martin was criminally underrated !!
As a longtime fan of Black Sabbath from back in the 70's it does not matter who is singing as long as Tony Iommi is playing his guitar because I have liked them all, so it did not take long to like Tony Martin...his voice is a perfect fit.
TYR and Headless Cross are the best albums because of brilliant Tony Martin`s vocal.
The music from this Sabbath era is something else, my favourite!
Eternal Idol, Tyr and Headless Cross always in my heart.
This prolly the thousand time I've listened to this killer song. It never gets old.
Thank you Mr. Iommi for shining a big beautiful light on the Tony Martin era! One of the best metal singers ever! Probably one of my most anticipated releases ever with this upcoming box set. Thanks again! My brain and my ears cannot wait😊😊😊
Bow down to the master. The heavy metal god, the one riffmaster to rule them all. And to the singer and lyricist equalled by few and surpassed by none. And to the thunderous rhythm section from hell, and to the inimitable provider of eerie atmosphere behind the keys.
Bow down to Black Sabbath.
ANNNOOO MUUUNDIIIIIII YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
Dio and Tony Martin best black sabbath singers
I really like the work of Glenn Hughes on Seventh Star too. And also thing that the game could be very different if Ray Gillen had more time with Sabbath, that guy could really sing
God this is Sabbath's most powerful song ever. The drums, bass, synth, guitar and screeching vocals, everything strikes as a sledgehammer and I love it
EPIC.... Those keyboards with the riffing.. One of Tony Martin's best vocal performances.
After all these years this band still kicks ass. I'll have to get this album.
I don't diaagree. But This album is almost 35 years old.
Tony Martin is a legendary vocalist clearly Iommi is fond of him and rightly so. I'm a fan
My favorite Martin era Album !! It's such a fantastic and underrated album 🤘
Eternal Idol, Headless Cross and Tyr are emblematic albums. Where Black Sabbath achieves impressive sound quality and instrumental weight. The band's composition in these projects revealed the vision that Iommi desires, they are unforgettable and essential masterpieces in the history of Heavy Metal.
he deserved to be a member of black sabbath
I love Dio (as all metalheads do) but honestly…Tony Martin’s voice is RIGHT THERE in terms of greatness as far as I’m concerned.
The poor guy had the unfortunate luck of following two iconic metal frontmen and at a time when Iommi was churning through bandmembers at a ridiculous rate (the coke didn’t help matters), but Martin gave 100% in the studio and contributed brilliant vocals to some criminally overlooked albums.
forever Cozy Powell (2) - underrated masterpiece fucking song, i have no words.
One of my fav Sabbath songs ever
I remember the first time I heard this. Now I am hearing it again, and it feels like the first time. Awesome tune.
The ultimate Martin era Sabbath anthem.
I like all the vocalists of Sabbath because my ears work. 🤘
Good for you.
Tony Martin’s voice was golden!
AT LAST T.M. ERA!!! GLORY FOREVER!!!
One of my favorite riffs and Tony Martin's vocals were killer. Incredibly underrated album and track in particular.
one of the best Black Sabbath songs
🤘🏻
LOVE THIS ALBUM! Cozy's thunderous, varied fills are majestic and Tony's vocals are sublime. Easily my second favourite Sabbath singer after Dio (I might've revised my opinion if Ray Gillen had stayed but I guess if he did, we'd have never had Badlands...). Hope Tony Iommi does something with Tony Martin again, a few shows or new music. Could even draft in Neil Murray and Bobby Rondinelli ❤
One of the best Sabbath albums, so many good riffs
Wow! No more searching 10 year old videos to listen to these songs.🔥
It was about time Tony Iommi, thanks
Tony Martin ❤ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 true heavy metal legend
Thank God its not heavy metal. This is clasdic hard rock. Metal has no melody. This is way too melodic and sophisticated to be metal.
When I was young I didn't understand this album, but when I grew up I saw its class. It's the same with the Bruce Dickinson SKUNKWORKS album.
Both phenomenal albums.
my favorite Sabbath song.
A great album and all the albums with Tony Martin are a delight to my ears, I love this stage of Black Sabbath and I had the opportunity to see the original line-up + Tony Martin in Chile greetings from Chile
Cozy on fire.
Tyr is just such a wonderful record. I was so shocked when Dio returned for the follow-up, it took me three decades to get over it and listen to Dehumanizer.
I would really love a new album with Tony Martin !
One of the best Sabbath's songs.
Martin at his PEAK, the 3 hour shows and touring beat his voice up. mad Props still
This track is pure ecstasy ✨
I remember myself ten years old seeing the cover of the album first time on Metal Hammer. Magic!
hopefully, Iommi has one more go of it and has a final Black Sabbath tour with Tony Martin. the Martin era is ignored by so many Sabbath ‘fans’ but has some of the most powerful, well written material in their catalogue.
Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osborne are 50/50 co- owners of the Black Sabbath name unless three original members are recorded it will not be released under the name Black Sabbath.
Tony Iommi has officially announced his retirement from touring but a couple shows under the name Anno Domini could happen in Birmingham England.
@@richardhincemonname doesn't matter. They could call it Headless Cross
@@AenigmakilOzzy Osborne announced on his podcast that Black Sabbath has unfinished business and wants to play one more final show with Bill Ward on the drums and Geezer Butler has agreed to it. Tony Iommi has retired from touring and hadn't agreed to do it yet but didn't rule it out either. Tony Martin stated that Tony Iommi isn't interested to tour under another name. Tony Martin is free to hire musicians and tour if he wants to.
One word: TRANSCENDENT!
Absolute gems on all the Martin albums. So glad to see these records getting re released. Thanks to all involved.
This song is epic! Never ceases to amaze me just like the first time I heard it.
he's got nothing to envy of the other sabbath singers only jorn lande who'd have the voice to do these songs well
This is one of the GREATEST pieces of hard Rock I have ever come across in my life, just masterfully written, performed and recorded by ALL on board Thank you ! 🥇👍
This is literally one of my favourite Sabbath songs ever. It's funny... the song is SUPERIOR to Paranoid but more people know Paranoid.
Totally agree. Tony Martin could really sing, so he's the opposite of Ozzy, who just whines all the time. Paranoid is Sabbath's most overrated album. With the exception of War Pigs, is just boring most of the time
@@marcusmascarenhascs742I think the numbers say enough.
Calling paranoid overrated with one good song is just a hot take.
This is amazing, but there’s a reason not everyone knows Tony Martin was apart of sabbath lol
@@joeshlong9614you’re lame. Paranoid is absolutely trash stfu
@@joeshlong9614Paronoid was a filler song this is an epic masterpiece 😊
@@richardhincemon I’m talking about the album not the individual song. But ye it was written in 20 mins and is relatively simple, still, it doesn’t take anything away from the song.
Im not comparing the song paranoid and this, but calling the album overrated with one good song doesn’t sit well with me as it’s been regarded as one of the best albums of all time. Not even hard rock or metal, just pure albums.
Look up a list of best albums of all time and usually paranoid is on it, that speaks for itself.
This is really good stuff and I love Tony Martin but if he wad as good as many claim, he wouldn’t be as lesser known, and that’s just a fact.
I walked miles through snow to get this lp. This track stood out as a rare chance for Iommi to solo and not be constrained
God bless Cozy Powell !!!
I've seen every incarnation of Sabbath, and Tony Martin is, in my opinion, the singer that defines the magic of the band.
Tony Martin age lives!
Tony Martin 🤘🤘🤘
I love this era of Sabbath!
Brilliant. Can’t wait for the box set next week.
This remaster confirms for me that what kept this era of Sabbath from soaring wasn't the material or execution but the lack of top flight production.
Your eyes are burniiiiiing 🔥🔥
Beautiful sound , the one of my favorites !!! Thanks Mr. Tony Iommi !!!
Tony Martin is awesome
Tyr is a majestic beast of an album!
Masterpiece! Viva Tony Martin era
Tony's vocal performance on this is unbelievable.
Top 5- best Sabbath album
This song is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
With his appearance in the band Toni Martin revived Black Sabbath, created and with his brilliant voice sang unforgettable songs. The keyboard is incredible.... the riffs too, but the drums are TOP!
Really need to tour again
I had this playing on cassette tape on repeat in my car when it first came out. Fantastic stuff. Thanks Tony! 😎🤘🏻
beatifull , I remember when I bought the play on vinyl I almost scratched it because I heard it so much
TYR=MASTERPIECE
I always love this song
I absolutely love this song and the whole "TYR" album as well as "Headless Cross" and all of the Tony Martin era albums
Tony Martin and Cozy Powell working with Tony Iommi kind of bring together a feel to me of Dio-Sabbath meets early Rainbow but really awesome. Tony Martin has his own style but it definitely brings Dio to mind and Tony Iommi 's playing in the Martin era reminds me of the Dio era style Black Sabbath.
@billjannusch - You nailed it, brother! 🤘🏼
