What about top coating with a matte finish the first time so chrome doesn’t stick instead of buffing? That’s what I do and then after the design top coat with shine

I love it! A trick I always use with chrome if it isn’t sticking like I want to the top coat, wipe the top coat with alcohol (slowly even let the wipe sit on top for a few seconds) then use the chrome powder it makes such a difference!

I paused to check out Katie's music, and I listened to Boots and Hecate's Grove... What a set of pipes this woman has! I honestly wasn't expecting much just because she's a bit less confident with nails like me, but if she's nervous when she sings, it's undetectable. Also, these delicious chromes, so lux! I love green and purple together. Very pretty!

You can also use liquid latex to mask the cuticle portion to create this design, or substitute Elmer’s school glue to mask.❤ so pretty!

Wow Susie now I know why my chrome wasn’t sticking complete to my nails. Didn’t know I had to cure it for less time and to apply two top coat before buffing the nail…Lol,I was doing it wrong all this time😮! Thank you for sharing ❤!
It took me 6-7 hours for my first acrylic set w/tips from a Walmart kit...doing it on myself. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I tried this and it came out so pretty.. Even the toughest ones turn out so easy with you making every step so clear.Instead of buffing I applied a mat top coat and it worked for me

How come gel artists don't use nail vinyls? Convention, not used to them, or is there a technical reason? As long as you have a vinyl for the shape you want, I would think achieving the French curve would be much easier and faster to place the vinyl, paint black, remove vinyl, cure. I haven't tried vinyls with gel though, so maybe there's a reason vinyls wouldn't work?

what if you do the design with 2 base colors and then chrome on top? if that makes sense... as in, just do the whole illusion with 2 base colors (ex: black and white) and then same color chrome on that? (making 2 shades of the same)
or could you do it reverse so the tip is less bulky?
Can you imagine how long it would take to do all 10 nails on a client like that???? OMG - would take forever. I would do this perhaps on two accent nails. It IS stunning!

You can see the unevenness of the gel polish…but with more practice I’m sure that won’t happen.

You can also use a matte top coat and the chrome will not stick.
But I need it to stick to half of it - and if I use the matte topcoat, make my chrome matte. I don’t want that I want it to be shiny.
You matte the whole nail, paint the black, paint the top coat, buff the chrome, then shiny top coat the whole nail. It will look the same, but you don’t need to double topcoat and buff

Well these brands may not play nice together. There’s some chemical reaction or contamination. Also maybe the light is not compatible- I suspect the products are not working together -

I find if the chrome goes streaky, I buff it in with my finger. It seems to stick with the added pressure

Try it with cat eye gel very cool affect with two similar cat eyes or one that’s lighter an one that’s darker than the other also works really well! I haven’t post to them yet because I’m working on nails that I did not finish yet and I was post to post along with a couple other things I’ve pretty much been MIA for a minute with the nails and definitely been MIA for quite a while with the makeup! I’m able to catch up on the nail post but when it comes to the makeup tutorials that’s going to have to be on the back burner for now still due to surgeries and major surgeries on my jaw ears nose generally my whole face area and also there’s issues with my glands as well so yeah there’s a lot going on and it’s affected my face so they makeup tutorials truly are going to have to still wait which really stinks because I just love being creative with makeup and just having fun with it also it makes me feel very I don’t know what the word I’m looking for is but truly letting those down that truly enjoy watching my make up tutorials that’s what hurts my heart the most because I feel like I’m letting them down they see me doing make up tutorials for years and then all the sudden I drop off and when I think I’m able to do one things with my health and the situation with the jaw the nose and the ear anatomy being very seriously badly damaged in the trauma to my job I was back in the early 90s when I got injured and it was severe to the point where even the surgeon back then was like I’ve never seen anything this significant before he literally told me that he seen victims of plane crashes and car wrecks not have a severe of a trauma as I had and now that’s common done on top of it being worse than initially and the healing process was not fun back when I was a teenager so something went wrong there and on top of that getting diagnosed with autoimmune diseases and rare diseases on top of a host of many other health issues a little later on in life but all these health concerns were truly wearing their ugly head even back when I was a teenager but because back then a lot of things weren’t well known at the time and a lot of times things that you have going on that your body attacks your own body it can also mimic certain other health issues that are basic that everyone runs into so it’s really hard to diagnose certain things sometimes that’s why a lot of souls get diagnosed way too late even though they try to prevent patients from being diagnosed too late in the disease process but unfortunately it happens that truly doesn’t deter me in doing what I love and I will be back full force after the surgeries and other treatments are dealt with and done when it comes to the makeup aspect. As for the nails I can continue to do that but truly organize myself so I’m not taking on a big amount of projects besides doing others nails on top of that because truly when you have chronic disease you truly have to manage everything differently and it’s hard to explain unless you truly are going to do it yourself. I know this is a little Tōmei but I truly am very open and transparent when it comes to how I’m doing and I’m very immensely passionate about being very open upfront with everyone.
I almost cried when you told your first set took 6hours.. mine was 10hours omg🤣🤣🤣 still after one year i still take 3-5 hours depends of decoration 😰😂

With all those layers of gel, are the nail themselves thick?
I like to apply thin - so it will be thicker but it depends on how thick you apply - but no different than any design with Gel

before doing the smile line could you use a matte top coat or would that affect the chrome?
I guess this doesn't work for born pretty super top coat. Because when I did, chrome didn't adhere. In the end, I had to file off everything 😔

@@NailCareerEducation Thank you, I already did that yesterday 😢 included screen shots of my order and of the message the website gives when I’m trying to order. Once the Black Friday sale ends I won’t be able to make the purchase as it’ll be too much for me to afford. I’ve been saving and waiting for this all year :( it’s still not working today either. I’ve check PayPal and it’s loading everywhere else. I’ve tried deleting all my cookies and clearing my browser so that I can start from square one several times just incase it needed a refresh. But it’s still not working. I’m honestly gutted. X

@NailCareerEducation I absolutely love your products the only thing that really stinks I was looking forward to trying your acrylics to see how I liked them because I’m always been passionate about building A structured nail with acrylic that’s always been my go to acrylic I started dabbling with gel but Gel is not my go to well anyway I was able to swatch two of your acrylics which I really liked sadly I took it a couple of them on vacation with me cause I was gonna do my sisters nails while I was down there visiting her and friends and just enjoying the beach etc. well sad to say my husband somehow ended up shattering the acrylic bottle which means glass and everything mixed into the acrylic so that was no longer good anymore couldn’t use it then just recently he knocked over I believe the white acrylic everywhere and I’m like that’s no longer good anymore either and I’m like I just got some of your acrylics and I’m like my husband I couldn’t believe he’s very klutz he doesn’t pay attention when he’s in my space where my stuff is love him the life that he can knock over something that’s flat on some thing and usually it’s like swinging a coat or just walking by in his coat open and he’s not paying attention and he gets really close to a table that kind of thing and he’s always knocking down things I was so freaking not happy that two acrylics ruined not able to use and I just got them! 😢
You could have used a Matte top coat instead of Buffing the nail
I believe the Chrome will stick to the Matte- and that’s what I’m trying to avoid
That’s how I do my chrome designs and it works :) I use nail addict Mayte top coat :)

@@mechemoreno5737 I've also found that a fully cured matte top coat doesn't grab onto the chrome like at all! It also helps with that crisp edge for a french, matte top coats are so nice for nail art.
Ohhhh...so THAT's what you do when you have bubbles and little hairs caught in your chrome'd nails... you write it out... cause otherwise it drives you crazy... you don't buff it and start over a thousand times until your nails hang on for dear life... OK. Got it.
It depends on the circumstance. In this video we didn’t have the time to deal with it. The only way to fix it is to remove and start again - but it’s not always practical so you have to decide how important it is to you

OCD-ish important 😂 but I think I should learn to pick my battles and stop when I've done a somewhat ok job even if it kills me deep in my perfectionist soul. At least for the time being, while I don't have all the equipment and skills necessary to realize a perfect nail yet.
