I know this is a late response but I use to work in a supermarket and sometimes (because things are made in the same factory ect) we would receive items from tescos or co op or something like 1 or 2 items which we can't sell but isn't worth the time sending back so thats probably what happened here!
The stir fry mixes do look past it - I agree with a previous comment about composting them. The mashed cinnamon buns could still be used if the package is intact - my mom used to do a variation on a bread pudding using doughnuts or cinnamon rolls. She'd tear them up into a buttered baking pan, pour a sweet custard mix over them, and bake it. Then she'd serve it with a chocolate sauce. It was great, and nobody cared what shape the buns were in to begin with!
I think that 90 percent of that was great and quantity was amazing. Yes a xouple of bits were questionable but i personally would just bin them as the rest of it was amazing for what u paid. The member of staff obviously made a mistake putting them in there ❤❤
I agree the boxes were ok ish but definitely some items that you couldn’t eat. Can you let us know what happened when you made your complaint? That will be interesting to hear. I think it’s a gamble buying them. I have never brought them…. I don’t eat meat… my daughter is Wheat and Milk intolerant…. My husband will eat anything but I think we’d end up with stuff only he would eat and probably wouldn’t get through before it went bad.
Take photo,s and contact head office and email pic,s and tell them what is and that they should not put uneatable food in boxes etc as you have young children etc etc and sometimes they give you coupons, it,s worth a try but if you can always go the top and sometimes they will as you to photocopy your receipt so just circle the items that your not happy with, hope you get answer to your problem.
I have my three winter white hamsters - they are sisters from the same litter. 2 pearls and a normal ones. They are officially 1 now and will eat anything and everything along as it’s not a strawberry. They love baby food too.
I reside in Australia 🇦🇺 and have never seen a too good to go bags. The bags appear to be a potluck gamble. The pork pies with the grated beetroot salad, yum. Feed the stir fry pots to a compost pile in the garden 🪴and the small animals have plenty of food. How much in GBP did the bags cost? Interesting video ✔️
Too good to go is due to launch in Australia this year, beginning in Melbourne then spreading through the rest of the country. Details on their website.
I think the bags are a bit of pot luck to be honest, for a big family plus pets you can make use of quite a bit of what you got, however, I am with you on the “uneatables” staff are obviously being told to fill the boxes with whatever is left over and not enough observation is being given to the quality, after all customers are not the supermarkets waste disposal units.
U r so right about those boxes nomally they r really good value maybe this was just a one off. Can you believe that there was a time when you would only talk on camera and we never got to see you ..... i was just wanting to congratulate you on how far you have come you are getting more confident in front of the camera with every upload px
Heat the cinnamon bun up in the ninja and drizzle with a bit of cream and it will be fune something heavy has just been placed on it in the box probably so long as the packaging is in tact i wouldn't have any concerns about eating it px
Pick one up last night had chicken in there and the package was open . There was 2 ready meals the same . Said to then Aldi guy that they are open he said this is what to good too go is all about . What food that you don’t know when it was open .
Got one last night 11 bags of salad use by date next day two tubs of dip and two packets green beans will go in bin no animals to give to . Just think we saved them binning it will not get one of them again
I'd text and reply them about the open packs and slimy packs at least you got bread and hungry kids will eat bread til they come out of their ears I'm one of 6 kids and growing up we ate tons of bread I will eat about a round every day I ate thar much bread love fran ❤
Hello Hannah 👋 I agree with you a bit of a disappointment this time , the bread and some of the other bits are OK but the others not so good . Hope you are all keeping well sending you all love and prayers 🙏 God bless.
Unfortunately your toogoodtogo box is only as good as the person who is filling it, two weeks ago I had the most amazing Aldi box, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, 2 packs of wagu burgers, 3 packs of gammon ham a few ready meals. I went to Morrisons on Saturday, and it was a box 75% full of carrots and potatoes with a few packets of strawberries I suspect to make it up to the stated value of the box. This was supposed to be a groceries box not a vegetarian box that had absolutely no thought put into it. I take notice of the review scores now, and wont pick anything up unless the score is at least 4.3. There needs to be standards applied to these boxes, for instance supermarkets should put a mixture of ingredients that allows meals to be made from scratch, eg a few items of protein and vegetables and then they can build on that by adding more ready made stuff. If this is an exercise in shifting processed foods then whilst it deals with food wastage, it doesn't deal with health issues that arise from these types of foods.
The scheme is intended purely to limit food wastage. What stock a shop has a surplus of will vary hugely one day to the next and different people can make use of different things. I prefer ingredients rather than preprepared food and of course there are things i simply don't like but other people may have more limited cooking ability and prefer all ready meals and ready to eat foods. You can't please everyone with these boxes and the shops can't be expected to put in nutritionally balanced foodstuffs tailored for each customers dietary requirements and preferences. My local greggs has really high review scores on the app but i would never get a bag from them as they are not a place i would choose to eat instead i would go for a supermarket which is always going to be a bit of a gamble as i don't know what will be in the box, some are good some are more challenging to use. If you choose to buy these boxes but can't use things then the best course of action would be to get in touch with a local food bank and see if they can use those foods or use another app like Olio where you can pass those things onto another person who can make use of them.
@@CeridwenEdwards-mu2rw If you want the scheme to work there has to be some thought as to what's put into each box sorry. I stopped supporting supermarkets. Everyone that I visited rating has got worse. I don't buy that there are loads of fruit and vegetables available in one box and none in another.
I once got a stick in a plant pot in an Aldi too good to go bag, it was supposed to be Rosemary! Never had another one since.
😂😳
I'm confused , the noodles were clearly co -op ones in an aldi box 😮

The part about making bread pud with the cinnamon buns is exactly what I was going to suggest. It works a treat!

Aww that’s great that the animals get the leftovers salad, veg etc

I think you got a great deal even with the dodgy bags

I think they were great but I agree those stir fry kits were minging! Aldi would be too much salad for us as there’s only two of us x
It is very hit or miss with these bags/boxes I’ve not got any for a while because of the risks of not knowing what is going to be in them
I think you did really well except for the stir fry which looked blown to me
