Grazie mille for posting this piece of art. This is a very underrated album. It has some interesting Queen and Evergrey influences. Sonata take their dark and bad ending fairytale atmosphere to a whole new level.
The mixed reception this album gets is ridiculous. OK, for sure Days of Grays was a bit uneven and Stones Grow Her Name was nothing more than a massive disappointment but Unia was great, right up with their best material.
Unia gets hate for being "Generic," which I disagree with. While I'm not the biggest Sonata Arctica fan (honestly I'm not much of one to begin with,) I honestly think this is not a terrible album.
sure right, the album is nice and all but from here on Sonata went downhill. On The Days of Grays half of the album was good, not special just good and the other half was just generic. Stones Grow Her Name was a great disappointment mostly because the band didn't sound like Sonata anymore, they changed the style of the band completely into something quite weird which was power metal but wasn't at the same time... They tried to fix it on Pariah's Child but most of the songs sound very weird. Their last album The Ninth Hour was just the weirdest shit I've hear from them... just no... I get they are trying to experiment with new stuff but I don't think that sacrificing melodic quality is the way to go for them, their old songs were known because of how bloody melodic they were!! but apparently they don't agree of course.
This album had a couple clunkers on it but the rest of this album is incredible. Everything after this album sounds like a totally different band and never went back to them. Miss these guys from my highschool\college powermetal days.
best album imo.
This song is incredible. Both in Lyrics and Instrumentation
I love this song
Can't believe how good it is!

Everything with Jani was God Tier. After he left, the band slowly devolved. Now we have... Talviyo ._____.
