    Always loved the sound of the old Amtrak F40’s Locomotives 🚂, U can’t beat them !!!!

    Nice Video! However for clarification: This was the Hoosier State Train 317. The Hoosier State was Trains 317 Westbound and Train 318 Eastbound, and the Cardinal Was as is To this day Trains 50 Eastbound and 51 Westbound.

      Thank you. The Hoosier State was actually called The Cardinal for a bit. From 4/1986 to 10/1987 Amtrak had dropped the Hoosier State name and referred to both trains as "The Cardinal." It was pretty confusing and probably why they changed it back. In the description above there is a link to one of the timetables that shows this.

    Sounds like a clogged horn. Amtrak must still have been using a sliver of the Panhandle between Bernice and Airline Junction.
