HELL YEAH. I just finished the main campaign of Darkest Dungeon a couple days ago, so it’s lovely to see you post again. And it’s the Ringmaster! Even better.
Great review - my biggest gripe with her is that I feel like everytime im doing a medium or long dungeon I HAVE to take a Ringmaster or Im missing out on the trinkets from camping, so my sugestion is to use the light version, and add the trinkets to the nomad wagon instead, unless you dont have the same compulsion as me ofc :)
or do like me. get lite version. get single player circus trinkets. then make a personal cross mod compatibility module that takes the file of the camping skills and makes a trinket loot table from the single player trinkets to edit the camping skill to give the trinkets from the standalone circus trinkets mod. Then you can buy the trinkets if you get lucky and have the funds later like the standalone mod. or you can run missions with her to get trinkets as if it was the full version. is kinda dumb there isn't already a version like this. but it is how it is. Cause single player circus trinkets have different file names compared to the ones packaged in the ring master mod. So having both means you're being hit with twice the number of trinket slot usage, and so you can have less other mods adding stuff if you don't do it this way. :V
The Ringmaster is an excellent mascot character for Darkest Dungeon, and incorporating her inti the playable roster would have been like dragging the Caretaker or the Ancestor on an expedition As for her character? I subscribe to the theory that the Ringmaster was an admirer or colleague of the Ancestor, and the Butcher's Circus itself is part of some attempt to please the Ancestor or some other entity, as she's clearly obsessed with entertaining murder and violence.
A bit late on congratulating your return, but just wanna say it. Your showcase videos were one of the reasons i picked DD1 modding and putting up through the pain of making 50+ mods working. Now i mighta be picking it back up like youre doing. Best of luck and days to ye, mate!
