Canon CP1300 Selphy Printer or RP108 cartridge problem? No confidence to buy these printers anymore!

We used to own Selphy printers from the CP800 era, and thought they were reliable and good. Their photos lasted a long time to be honest. Ever since our CP800 died, we bought the CP1300 but end up did not use as much. After finishing a set of KP108IN ink set, just over 108 prints, we bought a new RP108 ink set and the printer started to give us problems. The CMYK ink dye sheets keep sticking on to the photo paper as it prints. We kept trying and trying, and finally gave up. Did a quick check on the internet and found many other users reporting the same issues. Now, is it a printer issue or the new RP108 ink set have manufacturing issue? We ran thru a KP108 older ink set without problems. Zero confidence to buy another Selphy photo printer now. And not that the Ink set is cheap. If it's so unreliable, then best to avoid their products next time.
