I was playing a Sunday blues jam once, and the guest guitarist busted out this bad-boy. I was lucky; I knew this song well. The bassist wasn’t so lucky: he didn’t know it. So he’s fumbling through the first 16 bars, and I’m staring intently at him, trying to give him cues with my eyes and facial expression because I have no theory; I can’t just yell out the chords for him. He picked it up and finished the song flawlessly, and that’s why I love playing with him, bassist Ricky Renouf, a man with great ears, great feel, great pocket. Ricky, wherever you are, I f*ckn love you, brother.

This is underrated. Vince Norman is such a great arranger. And Randel Clark is such a good sax player!!
