I was playing a Sunday blues jam once, and the guest guitarist busted out this bad-boy. I was lucky; I knew this song well. The bassist wasn’t so lucky: he didn’t know it. So he’s fumbling through the first 16 bars, and I’m staring intently at him, trying to give him cues with my eyes and facial expression because I have no theory; I can’t just yell out the chords for him. He picked it up and finished the song flawlessly, and that’s why I love playing with him, bassist Ricky Renouf, a man with great ears, great feel, great pocket. Ricky, wherever you are, I f*ckn love you, brother.

Tevis, remember when we listened to Cannonball Adderly at Roberts house until we wore this record out? I like the arrangement. I’m glad you covered it very respectably.

This is underrated. Vince Norman is such a great arranger. And Randel Clark is such a good sax player!!

Nice. Want the longer version where there each take a ride!
I love this song; great arrangement! And this guy Jason Arce just might be the best tenor sax soloist I've never heard of.

Queen Latifah has nailed this song vocally; don't you think?
I learned those lyrics from her (cd); and you?
That’s really good, great groove
Great tribute to Mr. Smiley himself. 👍👍👍 I actually loved Julian's take on Bossa Nova; he "got it," much as did Getz.
Ok guys, who turned off the baritone mic ? No seriously.
