She put émotions in every songs she sang. You Can can watch it in her way of singing Adagio, Broken vow (both written by her), you are not from here, perdere l'amore, , Caruso. All these songs in her concert From Lara with Love. You can also love her duets with johnny Hallyday Requiem pour un fou (with English subtitle) and her duet with Maurane tu es mon autre(with English subtitle).
She’s one of the best of all time the way she conveys a story is unbelievable. She sang in the same Eurovision with Celine Dion in 1988 the year Celine won it.
This was my gateway drug to her about 18 months ago and I have remained obsessed with her velvet timbre, sterling technique, otherworldly performance choices. I've concluded she's a bit of a chameleon vocally: she has such precise control, she can choose exactly how she wants to convey the story at the level of not just each phrase but each syllable. Because story performance is ALL to her (she describes herself as a songwriter with a voice. Fluent and writes in French, Italian, English, Spanish.) Would love to hear your analysis of her original You're Not From Here from this same concert. I'm desperate to understand it better but it is not one that is commonly reacted to. SOMEHOW she manages to keep this insanely difficult song sounding gentle and easy peasy throughout. On the surface it is not as pyrotechnic as some of her others, but OMG, the technique...!!! Thanks for a great reaction!🖖🏽
Enjoyed your reaction! A phenomenal live performance by Lara Fabian. She is a legend and I dare say you won't see any singer on music-IDOL type shows anywhere in the world that are at her level when it comes to emotional heartfelt stage performances. An incredible talent! I too would recommend listening to 'Requiem pour un fou' with Lara and Johnny Halliday, 'Caruso', 'Adagio' and other of her great performances.
Hi, nice reaction!! Je Suis Malade, as already mentioned in the comments, is a song written and sung in 1973 by Serge Lama and composed by Alice Dona, the same year he gave it to Iolanda Christina Gigliotti better known as Dalida to sing it. I believe noone could deliver the desperation and pain Serge Lama wanted to express when he wrote the song better than Lara Fabian. This is one of the compositions that even if you feel great, you get a shock and a pain in the soul. Lara sings with her heart and her soul and has a unique way to become the song and deliver emotions, every song is a journey, this is the reason why her fans love her so much. Everybody agree that her live performances are the best version of her songs. At that period, end 1999 to 2002, Lara had some personal and profesional problems, some of her best concerts took place at that period. So yes she was emotionally charged and you can see it in the way she performs. On t'aime Lara. Thank you.
@A Y Museek Hello, I've known this song since I was a child. I precise before which I'm French. Serge Lama, the original songwriter and performer of the song, sent the autographed LP just before its release in 1973 to my parents (my father was a Valet parking at "L'Olympia" at the time - a famous Parisian performance hall). I was 5 years old and therefore, I've heard it a lot since then. Despite everything, this song still manages to draw a tear from me from time to time, which is rare. But here with Lara, everything is there for it to happen. Thanks for your react. Friendly
very nice reaction. you're right, the magic of Lara Fabian goes through emotion, body language and respiratory control. welcome to Lara's world and believe me you've never seen or heard such consistency. Can i suggest you more Lara Fabian : " adagio" in english and one in italian, " you'r not from here ", " requiem pour un fou " with subtiles, " extrait de yentl ", " Caruso" , " perdere l'amore", " love by grace ", " broken vow ", " tango " , love is like a dream", " mademoiselle hyde", " que tu m'aimes ", " je t'aime " in two versions with subtiles, " la traviata" and so so many others. Good discoveries. Take care of you and stay safe. Ciao from Belgium. Ps: hold your heart because it is very likely that you will fall in love with it.
I loved your comments on this song, you are in the right field of work. Did you catch after the acapella part where she laughs in madness saying "C'est ça"? In french, "malade" is also used in short of "malade mental (mentally ill)" to portrait people who are insane ;) Took me a few times to notice it but that laugh is as sincere as that performance was, from pain to sorrow, to anger and despair. At the end complete madness. Looking forward to more of your stuff!
Guess what? Lara does this in every single song she performs, even the dancing ones, she has been delivering these masterpiece performances since 1986. ;) Plus, this ending note das nothing to her, she uses to hold E5 in chest/mixed voice over 12 seconds or C5 in chest voice for 20 seconds. Try react to her singing one of the songs she composed You Not From Here. Thank you. She has over 15 years of class of bel canto in the conservatory of Belgium and with her private opera vocal coach.
Awesome! ☺️ This is my favourite song of hers. Two other songs by Lara Fabian that you can not miss are: 'J'taime' and 'Adagio'! 🖤 Even Dimash has done a cover of 'Adagio' - which Lara praised! ☺️ Oh. Just a little sidenote; her surname is pronounced: FÁ (like Fu(n) - BEE (🐝)- UN.
The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship. In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words on his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides to his friend Alice Dona: "This story hurts me, it makes me sick". Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes in a few hours a melody [...], which very quickly she makes listen to the singer. It is a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost the entire text with a jet.3 He would later say, "The 80% of the song I wrote in 20 minutes is almost a shame. [...] it came out of my heart so much that I immediately felt that this song had something that others didn't have. ». The great Serge Lama...

I know you are looking at it from a singing technique point of veiw, but you keeping smiling to this sort of lyrics most of the time is so bloody creepy, its beyond words.

Greeting Sir! :) My today's suggestion is a brand new song called "We Died In 2012", from the French Canadian project named So-Fi: th-cam.com/video/rFwZcGmzNY0/w-d-xo.html
Wow... watching you smile throughout this magnificent performance was very odd to me, putting it mildly. As if you didn't really connect with the feeling and strong emotion of this performance, someone in deep pain and despair. Disappointing on your part.
Emotion, power, storytelling, body langage that is Lara Fabian. More Lara please. Thank you from Montréal.
She is a great artist!she should be admired much more, not only for her voice but also as a songwriter.
She attacked the ending of that song, with her body as well as her voice. So good.
Great reaction. She is truly an amazing performer who draws you completely in with her.
Yeps, she's clear and resonant. And she still does this thirty years later.
She put émotions in every songs she sang.

What is stunning to me is her perfectly clear diction
absolutely stunning performance 😍😍🎼

First time i 've seen a youtuber reacting to Lara Fabian with smile... Evidence of empathy or just a lot of hindsight and control of emotion?

I thought the same thing. Grinning at this performance makes no sense.
Try Adagio from the same show-she wrote that song, many artists have done Adagio but not like her! th-cam.com/video/jKtNuLG5jAo/w-d-xo.html
