Having roommates is a such a crazy concept when you think about how “stranger danger” applies until it comes time for you to move to college and live with people you’ve never met
One of my best friends currently was my roommate during my last year of college. I did not enjoy living together but I’m so grateful to have her as my best friend! You’re totally right that not everyone can live well together!
Ahh I love that me and my roommate were never eye to eye but we both had the best conversation. We both got our own rooms second semester but still say hi to each other every once in a while. At the end of the day, we are both good people just not living together 😅
I've literally had fourteen roommates in the last five years and now I really want to send them all a survey to see what they would say. I'd like to say we're on good terms but also I have a few exceptions who are blocked on every social media platform lol

I moved in with my boyfriend (now husband) and his roommate did some really awful passive aggressive stuff to us. He grabbed my dog once and threw him across a room. When we decided to move out, I had a chest freezer we wanted to drain/do maintenance on before we moved it and asked him and his gf (politely! and with 3 weeks notice!) to start eating all the frozen food they'd packed it to the lid with...and they kept going out to eat, and that night went out and bought 6 boxes of popsicles. Also when they finally moved out, we were going to sell the house and they flushed a wash rag down their toilet. He also never did the dishes, he just piled them up in the sink. Once he left a tea bag and tea in one of my mugs for 3ish months and it grew mold. There's so much else I could list but this is already too long. If I could rate them negative infinity out of 10 I would. Worst roommate ever, hands down. And no, we are not friends anymore. There is no hope for reconciliation it's just a hard pass for me, haha
Lolololol, roommates are so fun and interesting! I had roommates that I became BESTIES with (a group of us just went to a concert together)and had 1 roommate I had quite the falling out with. We're still healing, and I hope someday we can feel completely comfortable with each other again
I once lived with 6 girls sharing 3 BHK, it was fun in the beginning later it became too chaotic… I made one best friend for life from that experience though that was the best part..
Freshman year of college moved into a dorm with a random match. On move in day we met for the first time and her dad yelled at our RA (already off to a rough start). From there a series of unfortunate events - she stayed up til 5am on the phone with her internet boyfriend, brought a drug dealer to our room, and kept making a chicken salad that made the entire room smell horrible for days. I moved out after 1 semester.
The roommates I live with now are amazing people I just was a little shocked about this… I put my laundry in the wash and they needed to do laundry, which makes sense but they put the laundry I had in the washer on top of the dryer instead of inside…

We lasted 2 months before I moved back out.
I lived with this girl who left food all over the counter when she was done cooking and it was all in the sink too. To top it off, she was terrible at washing dishes so I always had to rewash her stuff. So inconsiderate.

I lived with my bestie in another country and hated it. It was just not for us to live together, but we still love each other to the core. It just didn't work that way.
My friend who is my roommate never does the dishes, hasn’t clean our place in over a month now (I have cleaned it all the last 3 times), uses all of my utensils when she has her own, has used them to mix her dog’s food and I threw them away. Now the icing on the cake….she ate all the chicken Alfredo that I made and got mad when I didn’t make chicken breast for her. I have stopped doing a lot for her now.
My roommate in college was my HS BFF. When she was mad at me instead of talking to me, she’d just leave notes outside her door or around the apartment. Now she doesn’t like responding to my msgs because I dropped out of cosmetology school and went to culinary school instead.
I had okay roommates (2) the second one was kinda hard to live with and be friends with. The first one was much better! The first roommate for college was great, we helped each other out, cleaning after ourselves and whatnot. The second roommate was very hard to live with and be friends with because she was really loud and she didn’t clean like at all. I had to ask to take the trash out and she never washed her dishes right after use. It was super hard to deal with her loudness and honestly she was kind of inconsiderate. Oh well, I don’t really talk to either of them, but that’s okay! That’s all, I love you guys, I lived with watching you two!
I’ve had a total of three roommates! Overall I had a rocky roommate situation freshman year of college fall semester, but we are the besties now. Spring semester I moved into a triple room with my freshman roommate and a friend of mine that I went to school with in middle and high-school. I couldn’t stand living with her 😂, she wasn’t used to having roommates. She was also super messy and my freshman roommate and I complained nonstop about it, she also had made the most stupid rules ever for our living situation. This year I am roommates one on my best friends that I met freshman year of college, she had a rocky roommate situation freshman year, so we agreed to live with each other sophomore year and I love having her as a roommate. We have the best conversations which leads to laughter. We rant to each other about anything that is bothering us.
