Hi Rob, I’ve watched your channel for months. I have a 1996 SR5 Limited and I still love it and i wanted a new Tacoma for 2yrs plus now. I could never find the configuration I wanted so I decided to wait for the 2024 remodel. In late Oct I flew to Oklahoma from Arizona to inspect and drive my new 2024 Hybrid Limited in Supersonic Red home. I love this truck and I’m glad I did not wait for one in my area, which no one has yet.
Everything you did/do in you videos is relatable the every 2024 4x4 or not. I like you don’t need a 4x4 nor do I need a hybrid but don’t trade or buy vehicles very often so I wanted the biggest bang for the buck. I can’t fine one negative about this truck now that I have gotten use to the size. My idea of 4-wheeling is a washboard road dirt road with a few sharp corners. I know this truck is capable of more and I like the piece of mind that this can handle it all beyond my capabilities. Unless you are planning to showcase 4x4 capabilities or you just want a 4x4 like me you are not going to be able to please all your viewers.
I Love the channel and I love the truck.

hey rob, just a suggestion but i’d say get a 25’ trd off-road with the 6 foot bed, bronze oxide, that would be such a cool truck trust. i have a 2wd sr5 and like it a lot. i can understand why you’d want a 4x4 tho happy new year

I think I was “that guy” or one of those guys…Good decision. A 4WD can be a 2WD, but a 2WD can never be a 4WD. You’re covering more bases and reaching a larger segment of your influencer audience. Kudos.

Rob we 4x4 driving Tacoma nuts enjoy your channel! Your money your choice my friend. I live on 50+ acres of KY farmland and 2WD just won’t cut it around here. Weather dudes calling for 3-5 inches of snow Sunday into Monday and I rest assured I will manage to go where I need with my 4x4! It only takes needing 4WD one time to pay for it in my book, but again I am not here to criticize your purchase! I will keep watching whether you drive 4x2’s or 4x4’s. Keep on keeping!!

Some folks just like to complain. I wouldn’t call it a mistake. I wouldn’t buy a 2 WD truck personally, but I still enjoy your videos on it.

If i lived in Florida or Texas i still think I'd only get a 4x4. Just for resale alone. Few will buy a 2wd truck nowadays especially a used one. Might take a beating on the trade. That said I'm in NY, have owned my Tacoma for two winters and have only engaged the 4wd to exercise it. Have had no need at all for 4wd yet. Still like knowing it's there.

I love finding content creators from the RGV! I always subscribe and support our locals.
I'll be picking up my 2024 Limited in Blue Crush either later today or early tomorrow! I tend to keep my vehicles for a long time so I didn't mind paying more for the 4x4. Days at the beach and we have some land near San Isidro so it might come in handy.
I'll be selling my 2011 VW GTI that I had since new and replacing with this. Also keeping my 2002 Mustang I've also had since new.

Rob.. Love the channel and watching your videos. I think you are spot on in increasing your reach going with a 4x4. I decided to keep my paid for 2011 SR5 4x4 extended cab with the 6ft bed. 104k miles and runs like a champ. I love the multi-port injected V6. In addition some guy named Rob turned me on to The Pedal Cmdr and a K&N cold air intake with some Falken Wildpeak AT4's and some sweet wheels. ( I went with the Method MR305 Double Black). :) Have a good one and a Happy New Year!

Hello Rob, long time fan. I have been reading many of the great comments here. I think you should follow some of the advice to wait until the '25 Tacoma's are on the market. A nice SR5 4x4 would be a great model, with all the Mods to apply and make it all yours ,and to show it off with all the glory , and who needs the TRD? I just think the price of TRD decal isn't worth the money, but that's me. LOL! Still have my good old 2020 Access cab SR 4x4 , and the little 4cyl. is just doing fine, it handles well, and , the 4x4 feature kicks tail in the snow , I will own it in July of '25. Keep the videos coming brother. The window tint is my next purchase, you sold me on that in no time , I want it soon. Getting a remote starter in just a few days, yippee!! LOL! Take care Rob, and Happy New year.

Why waste the money on another 24! What you are doing is great and I think that many of the ideas can work across platforms. Save the loot for the 25 and go for the off road, I think your audience as well as yourself will be happy. I have the 24 offroad and I love it, I also live in an area where 4x4 is a must in the wintertime and 2x4 works for you in your climate.

Ignore the 2WD haters Rob. You live in South Texas. I live in Texas myself and 2WD is all I use on my 4WD 4Runner 99% of the time and I guarantee you most of the guys that have 4WD Tacomas hardly ever use either 4HI or 4LO. If you want a unique setup for the channel, try getting your hands on a TRD Prerunner. Yes it’s 2WD, but it’s super rare, at least as rare content wise as someone with a Trailhunter or TRD Pro. I guarantee you that there will be people interested in seeing content on that Tacoma since it’s the model with the fewest produced other than Trailhunter and TRD Pro. I have also seen several dealers in South Texas with a few examples fairly close to you. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but TRD Prerunner is what I would go for if I was looking for a new Tacoma.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

I understand why you might think rarity would be a good thing, but not when it comes to long term viewer interest. Because it’s rare, less people have it and those interested in it are fewer.

Hay Rob you are reliable you in Tx,do you really need 4 wheel drive? I live in the north where we get snow so that’s why my 24 sport is 4 wheel drive. I love what you have done to the truck. Keep it!!

I agree with everything you are saying about relatability for channel growth. I had a 2wd Colorado years ago and it was fine. I admit 4wd is not a must but I want it due to the amount of winter driving I do. If I watch channels on taco maintenance and mods, I do prefer to see the similar truck. SR5 is ok and highly modifiable in many ways but why I went up trim came down to power seats and a heated wheel. Not thrilled about pricing but at the same time, it's not my first new vehicle rodeo.

Like you said. If it’s to apply to us as an audience ? I agree a 4x4 would be better.
But I think the hateful comments come from the offroad mods you’ve done. You’re always going to have those who will get upset when you make a truck “look” like it can do more than it can. But at the end of the day it’s yours.
IMO I would love to see someone lower a 2wd Tacoma. I have yet to see that. But that’s just me.
Can’t wait to see your new truck and let’s get you offroad. That’ll for sure get some relatability to the next build.

Hey Rob, I live near Calgary Alberta Canada.
There are no 2025 Tacomas available around here as far as I can see searching the net.
The dealers are happy to take your money on a pre order but nothing on the ground.
Looking for a new 2023 Tundra tho? There are still lots of those available!

Hi Rob, I’ve been a subscriber on your channel for a few years now. I’ve seen all your Tacomas come and go. I’ve really liked a lot of them, but realize I can’t get attached because you don’t have them for to long. I get why you trade them in, this is your channel and you need to keep folks interested by keeping this fresh. So, for the new 4x4 Tacoma coming, I suggest the TRD Sport. It’s a good compromise by not being overkill that the Pro would be. Tuned more for the road, yet very off road capable. I bought my gen 4 TRD Sport in Bronze Oxide earlier this month and love it. I traded in my gen 3 Off Road for it and very happy with the decision. I loved my gen 3 Off road, but I really never took it off roaring, so I thought the sport would be a better choice. I live in Colorado where 4x2 trucks are the minority. Well, happy choosing, I love buying new vehicles, it’s exciting to me.. hey maybe keep the new red 4x2, sell the jeep or the wife’s car and get the new Tacoma 4x4..😅 just a thought.

you’ll get a great deal regardless of what trim you choose brother..especially this time of year without them moving.
i’d say get another Sport or OffRoad but either way def get the 14-inch screen! good luck my friend and if you need any insights from an insider who works for Toyota let me know!

Hey Rob i certainly understand your thinking that because of your Tacoma channel you should get a 4x4 to be more relatable to your audience ! Heres what i think in MHO is that its your channel your money and your preferred truck. It kinda seems like your are being pressured into buying a 4x4 to keep us happy! Not so in my case sir,its Your money not ours so i believe you should get what You want .It just seems like you feel pressured to make us happy an i understand you have to kinda do that to keep your subscribers. I just feel you should buy what makes you happy i mean we arent paying for it you are bud .Anyway thats my two cents an it will probably piss off some people an im sorry for that but you shouldn't feel pressured. Good luck on your choice whatever it may be, cant wait to see it.Take care buddy still raining in Oregon. 😊😊

It’s non mechanically inclined TH-camrs like yourself that’s the problem. You sit here giving praise to a gaint iPad screen on wheels. But forget it still has a combustion engine. Now more complicated and more stress per cylinder. 4 cylinders have come a long way but not that far lmfao. It is a FACT that these engines will not last as long. That’s why I bought a 2023 trd of premium. 😂
