since roland is blatantly going for the swede, nord should go for the workstation market as well. Its great that roland put up some competitor. Reigning long enough made companies lazy with their incremental upgrades, hope this competition will livelen something up :)
I keep seeing people complain about the pianos but I don’t think everyone takes into account that with these modeled pianos there’s a parameter that can be adjusted to address any if not all issues you may have. Where I feel it’s missed the mark is in the organ and synth sections. The organ is just lacking period. I believe you can hook it up to a leslie and that might make a big difference but what’s the point in having an organ section on a keyboard if it needs an external leslie/speaker to sound decent. With that said I do feel like it could probably be tweaked to get closer. With the synth section to not have enzyme and acb is a huge letdown. Also, to have an interface that is this tactile and to be as limited as it is when it comes to on the fly control of parameters outside of ADSR is again a huge letdown. The Fantom is definitely the better bang for the buck.
Would you confirm that there are key release samples on grand pianos? Like when you play forte staccato - if there's that beautiful real grand piano "damped resonance" of the soundboard? This is a feature that always made me choose Keyscape (laptop+controller) over Nord Stage.
Idk if its the mixing or what...but something just seems...flat...i dont hear much depth or warmth in this joint. I love that Roland has a V Stage but for the price point id think that thing would sound very warm & have some depth to it. However i will say the Synth & EPs are nice tho, and the felts.
It seems to me that they’re doing a version of the Nord Stage, it even has a slightly Nord like interface. I will be interested to try this but having used Nord and Roland Stage Pianos, as well as Yamaha and Kawai imho the Nord Stage is in a class of it’s own
V-Synth reissue? I miss that synth, and I miss the Feedback Oscillator. This is cool and all, but not really my thing. I do congratulate Jack on his demos though. If anyone could convince me to buy a synth I don't necessarily need, or even want, it's my boy Jack here!
hmm…every demo misses the additional sounds that are part of each scene. Tweaking the volume & parameters of the 4 other parts/engines changes everything. It would be like me only playing the first “scene” of every performance on my Montage M8x.
Its a nice board but i prefer my Vox Continental 73 in Combination with the Roland Juno X. Better Piano, Organ on the Vox and the same Synth Patches on Juno X the V Stage has
@salvatorenapolitano6292 ...Nord uses Sampled sounds just like yamaha.....I've never heard them mentioning using Modelling, unless its something new I don't know of
If they made it red I have to compare it with a Nord Stage 4. Not even close from a Nord on the pianos. The distance is more than huge. This Roland sounds tiny and without hight and low freqs…
It’s just ok. Never been a fan of the Roland sound, especially the pianos. Would love you guys to review the Viscount Legend One! From what I’ve heard of it so far, it’s the closest to a Nord Stage/Electro.
The colouring is closer to the Fantom than the Nord, and I'm not aware that Nord have a copyright on red either! The more important thing is whether it's a great stage keyboard and worth the premium price - I'm not sure yet and would need to test in person. The organ in particular sounds shrill and unconvincing on videos (demonstrators seem to pass over the organ sounds very quickly, maybe for that reason!). It will be a harder sell in Europe where the Nord Stages are a similar price, whereas Nords are massively marked up in the U.S.
I wish the colors on these keyboards were modular. Red is nice and all but I'd like to have a range; with guitars and basses I can match with any outfit or gig.
The quality gap for stage pianos is now almost completely closed. If I didn't already have the ns4 I would seriously consider this ryland, especially for the price. As it stands I still don't need to upgrade for a long time unless the ns5 has the drive space to store ALL the nord samples. My one major gripe with the ns4. If you don't have a nord stage, it's looking like the vstage is the practical choice, especially if you're not super affluent 😂.
With all the technology available today they still haven’t got it. Nice sounds but the pianos aren’t there. Sounds like a stick striking sheet metal. Roland has always lead the industry with their sounds but acoustically wise 😢 not
Still the same old sounds but in new coat. I played roland for 10years and they still use the same modeled pianos that sounds plastic. I just dont like the sound of it but the capabilities are awesome with Roland products. However, at the end all that matters is the sound and there the Yamaha and Nord are better I think.
Sounds great to my ears. I personally own the Nord stage 4 compact and if I had to choose between my Nord and this probably pick this due the price. I am thinking to sell my Nord now 😂😂😂

Worth it for the Jazz Scat alone?

I'll stick to Keyscape 🤣

Have you got any opinion of the Hammond M-solo? I'd be interested on your take. Cheers!

Same problems of all roland pianos, nasal and full of mids, nord remains on another planet
Its not a problem....Roland just stop using "Sampled" piano for their library...they're using a "Modeled" approach instead.....its not for everyone.

If only the colour was being authentic and not trying to copy Nord. Black and Gray? Black and white? Why does it need to be red?
What color is the fantom. 👀. Everyone keep bringing color up like rolands keyboards never been that color

@craigbroadfoot1851 The fact that every company is mimicking the Nord Stage keyboards is not original at all. Roland, Yamaha etc
And with wood ...
@@WhoDarez The Roland VR760 started this concept in 2002 or thereabouts. It had wood sides too before Nord 'copied' that idea!
